Can we tone down Swain a little?

Guy's been sitting at a winrate over 50% for over 4 patches. Strong lane bully vs anyone melee, can still heal when in zhonyas, has a built in DFG

Seems balanced

Are you saying his E is anywhere near comparable to the old DFG? If so: LOL

It provides a damage amp that is comparable, but doesn't do the percent health damage and is actually factored into his power budget. Sure, he's stupid to fight if you're melee, but that's the sad state of toplane for the past several seasons.

So damage amp is fine because it's not coming with a % HP shot at the start? makes sense

Yes. It makes his other forms of damage over time more potent if he actually sticks to you, as again, it's considered in relation to his kit. DFG was terrible to play against because you'd get DFG'd and then deleted by burst mages. Swain doesn't up and delete someone. His major forms of damage are DoTs.

Not hard to stick when you have a slow, a snare, and Rylai's would be a perma slow

He doesn't start the game with a Rylai's and it's typically not a first or second item for him. You can also move out of the slow. Regardless, this is digressing. The point was, and still is, that Swain's damage amp isn't broken like DFGs was because of differing reasons.

I didn't say it was as broken as DFG, I just think a damage amp on a targetting spell is bad.

Good job leaving out his pickrate in order to avoid looking like an ass, huh.

I didn't know pick rate was so important considering he's one of those champs people call "unfun" because their stale kits don't have versatile play styles. But I guess you just want to look like an ass, huh.

Having a 51% winrate doesn't matter at all when he has a pickrate of only 1.21% at mid & 2.5% at top. That's like saying he is already considered powerful when 10 out of 10000 players managed to win a lot of games with him. See how dumb that looks?

Only thing that looks dumb here is someone thinking popularity defines balance.

In a way it does though... if he were super op like he used to be, everyone would be playing him or he would have a higher pick rate than that. But he's been pretty gutted since the mage rework and he's not really in a strong place right now, but neither is he overly weak

What's dumber is that you don't even have anything to back-up that statement.

he is already considered powerful when 10 out of 10000 players managed to win a lot of games with him

Read this. Again. Slowly, and then you'll figure out what I'm talking about.

Swain is fine. He has clear strenghths and weaknesses. And he counters and gets countered. Which means if someone counterpicks Swain into you, you aren´t supposed to have the best time, and vice versa.

One way to defeat Swain even if he counterpicked you is just go a bit heavy on the MR and sustain, and just let em run out of mana. He´s a dot-cc champ, buy item 3194+item 3111 and you can survive every magic dmg dealing champ in your current game. Not a Tank? Still buy it. Buy damage afterwards. It will come in handy, and you won't be roaming much early anyways.
