If you want to measure somebodies skill
its a lot more than farm kda and a win or loss.... but ehh whatever It gives people and inventive to try in ranked now
Strawberrycocoa3 votesAn automated system needs measurable metrics to calculate it's results. KDA, Gold earned, level compared to other players or your enemy counterpart role, towers, dragons and barons, wards placed, allies healed, enemies debuffed or CCd, these are all measurable.
Baiting ults, dodging skillshots, brush juking, jungle paths, lane freezing, enemy zoning, organizing jungle ambushes, these things don't have measurable numbers to utilize.

Yep, which is why it's complete bunk. I played like utter shit last game, if I didn't know any better and it were possible, I'd report myself for trolling. But I got an A+ because I had a scoreline of 3-5-19 with few minion kills as support Zilean, which is exactly what you want. But... I missed SO. MANY. Qs. Was never there at the right time. 49% of my ults failed and another 49% were on MYSELF. We did win because we got hardcarried by a fed jungle fighter. But they only looked at the score and gave me an A+...
Mandang02 votesWell, it's also relative to other people playing your champ in your role. In my personal experience, I haven't seen too many good Zilean supports, so that might have contributed to your high grade.

your score was pretty decent and you are being compared to other support Zileans. Pretty sure that how often you land skillshots and who do you ult will have 0 impact on your score. The game pretty much compares your KDA/CS/gold and lvl at whatever time it is you finished the game

Akeydel1 votesThey count grades relative to other people, and therefor supports will but judged against other supports. Also, for each lane and role there are difference criteria.

There are events in this game which riot can measure and record happening.
Say there is a game with a fiddlesticks and the game tells riot that that the fiddlesticks used ult. Next, the game tells riot that the fiddlesticks got three kills. Riot can then put 2x2 together and take it with a fair amount of confidence that fiddlesticks used his ult correctly. Conversly, if the fid didnt get any kills then riot would know that he blew an important ult and the majority of his teamfight ability.
This concept can be extended to anything. Tanks are supposed to die sometimes. If a tank on my team goes down without anyone else dying, good for that guy. That guy did the job right and took one for the team. the game can weight accordingly and assign him better points FOR DYING.
I sure hope they use this stuff...

7-1-7 rek'sai best KDA of all, 10.9k gold highest of all, always dropped my ward, destroyed their team, took all 3 dragons and the 1 baron. Enemy team force to surrender. "A" performance on rek'sai.

Obviously its not about those things when it comes to skill lol.
But to answer the question you asked in the topic header thing, the grades are based off of nothing. These are all just dumb amateurish kids that don't know how to play League of Legends or any computer game for that matter. Or really do anything.

Then again, my teammates all fed like crazy..

In the end, it doesn't matter. If I loss but got an A+, I still lost. If I won but got an F-, I still won. Doesn't really change anything.
DestructoDave1 votesActually, wards has a lot to do with your rating. Just spamming wards will get you a high rating. Try it. Upgrade your yellow trinket, and spam your 3 wards all game. See if you dont go way up in grades.
