Titled: Either I'm out of my elo, or Mids can still make Remnant of the watchers work!

Okay guys.... I just got Ahri for the first time in like ..... forever.... as mid, because I pick "Fill" when Queueing.

But man.... I'm used to starting off item 3303 because I like the wards, and would always sacrifice a little damage for them.

But man.... was it brutal.

I generally matched an Annie in CS, before I realized..... after going to the shop, my cooldown on item 3303 didn't RESET.

In other words, not only is bandit removed, and then they added the steeper penalty for taking minions, but they ALSO removed the reset on shop.

I had like 7-9 minutes of cooldown built up on it..... (there's no cap).

So..... I had a choice: a)either continue farming, or b) wait it out, and try to gank to gain some gold, since I couldn't get it from item 3303 procs.

Well..... just for the hell of it, I waited it out, and decided to go full boar gank for the duration if the cooldown, in ADDITION to the some 5-6 minutes it took me to complete the quest (at 8 minutes I had a whopping 31 charges before it went on perma cooldown) So.... for about 12 minutes, ALL I did was gank.

Now.... keep this in mind.... I had Phase Rush, not some damage dealing Rune..

But I ended game most damage to champs on either team, 12/1/16, more gold than the adc, support, and top. (33,949 damage in 34 minutes; 1000 damage per minute to champs is respectable even in LCS circles)

This tells me several things you wouldn't pick up from a normal decision making game:

  1. Gold is FAR more heavily reliant on Champ contribution than it is on farm, as I spent about 12 minutes of the game doing absolutely nothing but that. (contrary to the belief that CS is important; It's only important if it's helping the opponent push a turret, or you don't have a support item)

  2. Gold items have the potential to out gold csers which depending on the champ, comes with a lot less effort.

3) The gold items are EXTREMELY punishing to defending a lane versus a bad adc. If it's a game where the support is someone who has to clear minions to save a turret, they are going to get shut out of their entire lane phase's gold count, and probably some after. If they don't, they are going to lose their turret, lane, and possibly their GAME

I know Riot's trying to keep laners from using these items, but this very visibly shows why the changes really hurt the bot lane role at the same time that bot lane is the most dependent lane for snowballing games. 6-7 minutes of cooldown destruction = killing about 35-40 cs. Sometimes that's what a Zyra or Morgana or Karma has to do.....

(P.S. I'm saying this as someone who religiously completes their quest around 8:00 when playing support. Most supports I see versus me are lucky to complete it by 15:00)

My advice? At least make Bandit a Rune, so that people have the option to take it, in case the support item goes on cooldown. Some auxilery runes are only marginally needed. And, it's something you could put into Domination instead of Inspiration, so that it would level out vs Klepto in choicemaking. Afterall, Precision and Inspiration have gold making runes. Having one in Domination would be kind of nice.

Just FYI, the penalty removed upon recall is still only being tested on PBE. It has never reached live and the hoxfix changes for the gold income items were solely to remove Bandit and give quick compensation elsewhere.

Wrong. Up until sometime when they began this removal of agency experiment, the items all reset on recall. I've been using them or about 14 months in this fashion, on these champs:

Ahri Evelynn Morgana Nidalee Karma

If PBE is being tested, it's a reversion to what has always been, not something new.
