The assbackwards Ryze change: he's going to be even worse in soloQ, and even stronger in competitive

It actually blows my mind that they thought the appropriate course of action for balancing this champion was to remove options that let him thrive independently more often while adding even more power to his ultimate.

Could you elaborate? With source material?

Apparently learning a 2 button combo that makes you invincible in 1v1 (massive shield) was too complicated for your average player to grasp, shrug

not sure why you think this. ryze is having his dps and burst increased massively. overall he's actually going to be stronger at all elo's. all he's losing is his shield but overall he's going to do far far more damage. and pro's don't pick ryze for his shield to begin with. they picked him for his ult and point and click snare. if anything ryze is just going to be broken for a few patches til riot guts his new damage.

I want Riot to give Ryze a 20-minute ult CD, balance him around that, and then forget that PoM exists like most people do. Then I can play him and be totes OP.

He is going to be stronger in both. Just Pros or scripters will REALLY PWN with him
