why is the amount of mastery points still tied to win/lose?

hey you got an s+? nice buddy! oh but you lost, here have ~200.

got an A-? decent. and you won? here have 1000!!!!!

why is this? if you lose with an s+, that means you most likely were the only good on in your team and by far better than the enemys. so shouldnt you actually get a bonus if you lose but gain an S range grade?

i just dont get why it is tied to losing/winning.

imagine your honor progress is tied to losing. win 20 games in a row, yay honor lv up without getting any honors (just made up example) lose 500 in a row but get 4 honors every time? too bad, still honor lv 2.

why is it this way with mastery points

edit: http://puu.sh/AIWks/faa0b5a3a2.jpg my friends game right now. 26/0 her grade prob a S++++++ she got 260 mastery points cause she lost. meanwhile i win with a B and get almost 600 LOOOL

your example isnt extreme enough depending on the champ.

It pisses me off more that if i go 0/10 and win i get more than if i went 10/0 and lost

not to mention that minions still count like 75% of the mastery grade...

im fine with minions having a role in your mastery. I just feel shitty that i can do good crush lane and not be able to carry and get less points then if i absolutely sucked and get carried

I agree; there's too much of an emphasis on the outcome of the game. I understand that there needs to be a balance so that players still maintain focus on destroying the nexus, but right now it is out of proportion.

In other words, the current system promotes the player to only focus on winning and I like that, but earning practically nothing no matter how well you do in a losing game is quite the kick in the groin. I think the system can be a little more generous with mastery points earned in losses without affecting natural in-game decision making.

I agree that if your good with a champ you should win more games but currently your mastery score is based in order

  1. win loss
  2. time in game(just why) 3 your grade

Here is my proposal for my rework based on a possible of 1000 points per match(I know it goes higher and im fine with riot choosing a higher number) 500 points for grabs based on win/loss. It could be either 500 for a win and 0 for a loss or riot could make a sliding scale based on how dominant the win to how close a loss 500 points based on grade with an s+ giving 500 and slowly going down to like 50 for an 0/20 5 cs at 20 minutes(over exaggeration obviously) This would place equal emphasis on your mastery showing both how good you personally do and your overall winrate on said champion
