Im not sure what the point of the scuttle "update" thing was

I'm beating a dead horse by talking about this cause everyone is.

But seriously, i haven't seen a single person say anything positive about it. Pros dont like it, high elo players dont like it, normal players dont like it, bad players dont like it, laners dont like it, junglers dont like it. So? who was this update for? no one likes it, and people have been super verbal about the fact it's going to be a bad addition to the game, and thats exactly what it is.

Riot has to test their ideas, then it has to go to PBE and get put on patch notes, then it goes live. That entire time, people have hated the idea and have been begging for it to not be added, but here we are lol.

How does this keep happening?

I dont understand the reason everyone doesnt like it?

All they did was make early map control more dependent on wards rather then a free scuttle to give you vision.

You now have to chose to duel for scuttle with the other jungler or concede it and you have to be more aware of whether you want drake or rift harold and be sure to ward if the scuttle is on the other side or the enemy has it captured.

This change goes in line with the jungle changes to relieve the early pressure jungler have on lanes.

You can chose to contest scuttle or gank further reducing pressure off of enemy laners if you choose scuttle.

It also doesnt mean a jungler gets rewarded for heading toward a lane to gank every single time.

Overall it adds strategic diversity to the early game and relives early pressure which everyone agrees was an issue.

Somewhere 3 or so seasons ago everyone forgot this was a strategy game and not a team death match game. Im glad see riot adding strategic diversity to the game even in little ways.

At one point there was no scuttle on either side at all, so i dont really so any issue.

Because the crabs make or break the jg match up. If someones lucky and the crab spawns where they are 2-3 times, hes ahead of the other jungler for the rest of the game.

Ive had full 5v5 team fights, TPs and all sums being used, cause of a neutral crab that does nothing but give some XP.

Ive seen games with 5 smites in it for the damn crab.

Ive seen fed junglers be behind because the other jg has gotten more crabs.

RNG has nothing to do with strategy. You can't plan to be lucky. The problem isn't that there's less crabs - its that there's one crab that gives a ton of gold, HP, and an insane amount of XP based off of RNG.

Its the same as a gromp camp now. all you have to do is counter jungle gromp while they take scuttle and you lose nothing.

Peoples inability to understand how to adapt to the change is not a justification for it being bad.

If a statistic comes out in a the next month or so that show a 80% win rate for the team that gets more scuttles then there is something to talking about and think about till then its just people complaining like they always have cuz they dont know how to adapt to new changes.

Thats not true. It's worth more XP and gold than a normal camp - junglers are getting 2-3 levels ahead because of one successful invade, and they get 2 crabs. After that, the game is over for the other jungler.
