PSA: doing bad as an off-meta pick =/= inting/trolling
I thought this was pretty clear but apparentally nobody can see this so i thought i'd make an informal post.

There's a difference between actually thinking an idea through and picking Yi bot lane "Just because".
I generally use the reasoning for my Diana or Elise top picks as: Can´t pick Kayle, jungle will camp the shit outta me, can´t play GP, jungle will camp the shit outta me.
Have the op actually communicated with teammate before picking something weird? like Nunu support or tahm+blitz bot.
I meant it's nothing wrong to pick off-meta champions, but at least ask your teammate if they are okay with it.
Some trolls instalock without concerning other player's experience. And the game lost horribly.
When comes to responsibility, that off-meta pick surely have something to do.

Except that in 90% of the cases(speaking from personal experience) people wont be okay with it and will rage at you. This leads to the offmeta player either being a slave to his teams desires or being flamed/blamed most of the time.
Happens all the time as a support main, my favorite support is Janna, but regardless of pick order if the top and jungle want to be squishy I get flamed and yelled at if I do not pick a tank, which means I can either stick to my guns, and make it work, or play a champion I don't want to play, in a match I will likely now not enjoy
Oh i absolutely do not play tank in the role with the least gold and worst set in stone items unless we have a main tank in another role. I main tank supports secondary but i will avoid them and pick nami if there is no other tank on the team or i dont think my teammates will lock in a tank i am tired of being a scapegoat in the role with the least effective combat items in the game

I hate tanking for randoms tbh, on any game, no guarantee they are going to follow you when you do your job, and initiate...land that leona hook combo on the carry, boom ulti, your team watches the light show...waits for you to die, charges in
Same here Thats why i liked old taric with his armor shred and his dazzle being the same spell except not split into 2 auto attack to get the same effect and a better heal i could actually fight for myself and build a support build or tank build if i wanted to.

lol old taric used to be so much fun, he had such stupid burst at level 6 you would smite the fuck out of people in aram, and his ulti was a team buff not some weird invulnerability thing that takes forever to start
I played him like a lane bully in summoners rift because you could max Q and be fine now they have a massive delay on his Q his e his R he is so unsatasfying for me. His Q and R didnt need to change even if they changed his E his W could have also given the aoe while still having the targeted shield after all he lost the armor pen and minuscule ap and ad buff for that. They could at least spike taric's and his connected's hp and mana regen for the first part of the ult and same for everyone hit by the ult.
I find it retarded that kd determines your grade on tank champions
I'm going to lock in my pick every game no matter what my team thinks of it and try my hardest to win every time. My pick has absolutely nothing to do with how the game goes other than the fact that I know what I'm best at. There have been plenty of games that if I do poorly as Taric top, I get blamed by my team for the loss. I also have games like the one linked below where I was the only one who could do anything on my team but I don't have the luxury of playing the blame game for bad picks. If my pick was the reason that games I don't do well in then how do you explain me starting 6/0/0 when middle and bottom lane have a combined score of 3/28/6 at the end of the game with that so called troll pick?

I get so sick of people blaming champion picks for a poor performance when off meta but if someone does poor as a meta champion it is just a bad game. Meanwhile, If i do well my off meta pick is busted and I'm only winning because it is imbalanced. If you are better you will win and if you are worse you will lose. It has absolutely nothing to do with the champions you like to play.

Shit...Now I want to do a
bot lane and see how far into our turret space we can take their adc

I'm not asking. I'm intent picking Mordekaiser and then will have a polite conversation with my support so they understand How my W works so they can know how best to support me. Sorry not sorry because if I asked if it's ok, it Never is and honestly fuk the ignorant part of this community

Some of the best games I've had are with yasuo and mordekaiser botlanes. I was support. Yasuo with maokai ensures he will never miss an ult. Mordekaiser with malzahar against any tank supports make thier defenses irrelevant.
Keep doing what works for you
People's brains melt when they see something they didn't find on the 'how to league' encyclopedia.
I have so much to say about this idk where to start, so I won't.
Losing lane / playing something difficult isn't the same as going into a game and saying, 'I want to lose / irritate people'. It might end up having the same effect on the score, but the malice isn't there.
The secret is Mundo/Singed bot. The more you run it down, the more useful you'll become.
Why do sheeps expect a 100% win rate from my off meta pick when they can't even break 50% with thier metapick? I play what I want because I'm good at it and it benefits the team, because my win rate is 55-60% with that pick. If your closed minded ass needs every nickel and dime meta advantage just to keep up then it means you suck and you hard plateaued your elo.
Save the meta talk for where it actually matters (diamond 1+).

If your win ratio is only 55-60% on this off-meta pick, I doubt it's actually benefiting the team.
Calling people 'sheep' doesn't erase the weaknesses off-meta picks bring to most team-comps. There's ample reason why it's >off-meta< and that's because it usually doesn't work. You can be the best AD Soraka top in Silver 4, but in the end, you're denying people META advantages like a stronger frontline, or good engage or peel or strong split-push.

nice strawman, ad soraka isnt off meta, it's beyond that. off meta means things such as damage fizz/malzahar support or tank xin zhao, where you still benefit from inherent strengths that can synergize with the kits, even if the meta is healer supports or dps junglers/top.
still, if a guy plays ad soraka and it works for him, why would you stop him just because it isn't meta?
55-60 win rate is great, you benefit the team by winning. if i'm acheiving a 55-60 rate on a champion already then why would you be annoying and tell me to play something else? its off-meta because it doesnt work for everyone. meta picks also doesnt work for everyone but it works more for the average player on an average game. a metapick is not a panacea that can solve all your problems.
most of the meta champs have a win rate of less than 55. you know what happens when they reach 60? they get nerfed. if i can achieve that same win rate consistently and not have my champion changed, then why would you tell me to play something else.
the goal of the game is to win. if non-meta picks does the job better for me than meta picks, dont blame me for picking them. or are you against people finding success just because the method falls outside of your comprehension?
Been playing ivern support and sometimes adcs have tantrums, not even n ranked lul
Its usually sucky adc that need heal bots to headbutt minions
Lol how old are you?
There is hard inting, and soft inting. Hard one is when you buy mobility boots and run it down mid for example. Soft one is when someone gets grabbed by blitzcrank in the exact same way 10 times in the game. Doing the same error over and over should be considered inting, or at least soft inting.
As a general rule, it's considered stupidity, not inting, because in most cases it really is stupidity. Short of really obvious cases like what you're calling 'hard inting', it's actually pretty difficult to reliably ruin the game for your team intentionally, but it's really easy to do through sheer stupidity.
Feeding and inting. Inting is intentional feeding. Getting hooked and playing bad but unintentionally is feeding. Atleast thats how i see it.
Correct but a bit more specifically:
Feeding is when you die for no reason. Meaning either you would not have traded even, or there was no objective being contested, etc.
It's not just playing badly in micro (getting hooked), but playing badly in macro as well (over committing to a fight, random fighting in the jg, overextending, fighting when there is no pressure, fighting with mias roaming, that sort of thing).
Bad micro can be kind of iffy though, there is also a difference between playing poorly and feeding. Just depends on why they got hooked, like were they fighting over bush control when they could have just played the other side of the wave? Or did they just get hooked because they were out of position?
But it is. You trollpicked, just like that.
As a person that mains bard top , I always tell people in my champ select, you can rage IF/AFTER I feed, not before.
At least three times now, iv'e had people run it down mid because of "Top bard troll". Like come on.

Bad players who care so much about min maxing (only works for high elo because the skillset cross players are maxed) will always find an avenue to shift blame. People like us are easy targets for that.
Maybe if they spend more time getting better or learning why people pick certain picks or even choosing a champ/style that matches thier personal strengths and skill set, THEN they don't need to obsess over min max to get results.
As a person having multiple accounts in bronze silver gold and platz elos, I can tell you that the people who whine and moan most are the high bronze to mid gold players.
I've had some random on my team maliciously ban my champ I declared, because "I don't want them as a support/top/jungle"...Not gonna lie, if I haven't locked my ban, I ban their champ too...
I thought this was pretty clear but apparentally nobody can see this so i thought i'd make an informal post.

Hey hey,
That's better than actually being the only person who did well on the team but still being blamed for the loss when you picked off-meta champion.
I remember I went Nocturne mid and went something like 9/2 and lost because everyone on our team was negative.
At the end they blamed the loss of me. Yes, we did have an AP champion. No, I didn't pick without communicating to them.
BUT BUT THEY LOST IN MY GAME HOW DARE THEY REEEEEEEEE
it depends honeslty.. if the team comp can work with it
and it also depends if its ranked or not.
i mean if we have no ap.. and u want to go
jungle.. that highly questionable but exactly inting. it proably wouldnt get a report unless it was ranked, and u didn't even have mastery 4 on them.. then i would _consider_a report. (obviously if your champ is banned and no one is willing to swap.. that's a different story. you have to work with what u got)
however if you are given adc and pick
.. them im going to report you if you feed, ranked or not, mastery 7 or not.
I had to to support a
botlane. My allies were not happy at all, but I didn't mind.
A surprising number of people think doing bad on a meta pick is inting, let alone an off-meta pick. This community frustrates me sometimes lol
Braum Support vs a dickhead going Yi Support.
Enemy jungler comes to gank you.
Look at the amount of difference between Braum's & Yi's way of saving the ADC. You just volunteered to fuck up the team compo, so I'd still consider it int/trolling.
yi support is a troll pick though, not an off-meta pick.
actual off meta supports that can work include:

For Pantheon & Reksai, it's pretty much the same. One CC, and then what else are you useful at? Hope to scare gankers off with your pathetic Q?
[deleted]
Also, b/c of pantheons passive, and the reset of it he gets on W he basically lets his botlane dive super easily.
Get passive up (w/ autos or w/e), Q intended target near turret (w/ minions obviously) to draw aggro= 1st turret shot blocked, W intended target (CC and passive refreshed)= 2nd turret shot blocked, retreat.
Panth with MF or another adc w/ a strong early game is absolutely disgusting lmao.
Well, if you play Klepto Skarner Toplane, that's actually inting. Depends on how bad it is.
Playing klepto skarner toplane isn't inting. Are you actually aware of what inting means. Intentional feeding. Going skarner top isn't intentionally feeding is it?
You know what is intentionally feeding.... intentionally feeding. You know it is so don't conflate off meta with inting. This is exactly what this post is about and you seem to have learnt nothing.
If I'm being perfectly honest I dislike people who I feel are hell bent on playing a champ no matter what role they get(Camille sup, mage adc, lux top, etc.) often the only way I can get back at them is accusing them of trolling in champ select because I don't have the gall to be outright toxic or give up the game
You mean you counter picked yourself and didn't win lane? Gosh.
But off picking can be considered trolling, since you are intentionally handicapping your performance.
(I main off meta picks btw)
Went 1/8 as Leona top. This asshole chogath (who I want to just go straight to Riot Support with) kept harassing me to the ends of the earth. Avoided the fucking auto-report by spacing his curses like "fu ck". That also shows how good the instant report system is.
Just got into a NORMALS and people called me a troll for going Support akali
I got carried hard AF last night by a Elise mid.
GG WHOEVER you are!
