Yasuo should have gone all-in on Brand the moment he walked up to autoattack right next to his creep wave.

Starting Q on Yasuo? That's a paddling.

Akali is SO HOT1 votes

Starting E on Yasuo is for the LCS Sheepies

Legal Wrights4 votes

It's done in the LCS for a reason. Personally I adopted it in some matchups, but not in others.

Pros for starting E vs skillshot reliant champions:

-Dashing out of the skillshot -Scaling damage and fast waveclear -Looking Swag as fuck -Ability to trade

Cons for starting E: -Low poke outside of dashing onto them -Less safe last hit (dashing into skillshots by using it to last hit)

Pros for starting Q vs a skillshot reliant champion:

-Poke through the wave with the tornado, but its unreliable and slow to start up -Reliable and safe last hit

Cons for starting Q: -5 second cooldown is murder early -Immobile as fuck -Unsafe channel time -Unreliable poke, pretty much negating a pro in it of itself.

The pros for E massively outweigh the pros for Q. So I start E.

JustMyBassCannon4 votes

Frankly, that Yasuo's bad.

I've played this exact matchup frequently enough, and you either get a bad opponent that lets you pull this shit, or a good one that pays you back for doing it.

Akali is SO HOT3 votes

Ya it was definitely his fault for getting within auto attack range of brand he should've known better than that.

I love how nobody noticed that the Yasuo player is the OP.

  1. Make a bad play as Yasuo
  2. Record it and posts it as an evidence of Yasuo being weak
  3. ???
Akali is SO HOT1 votes

I never said Yasuo is weak lol. I'm showing that everyone who says Yasuo is impossible to deal with because of his shield is retarded

When it lasted 2 seconds it was a problem. It's fine now

A lot of players that use mages seem to forget they have an auto attack, it seems.

ModWulf Helhammer1 votes

Which makes no sense because a lot of mages have a passive that makes them need or want to auto attack

Puppet33r7 votes

The problem is that when you try to get in range to autoattack he just slides around your minions and starts trading with you and he will most likely win this trade(thanks to the knockup for the most part) even if he won't be lucky enough to get a crit. There's a very limited amount of champions who can actually win trades vs him early on. And please don't tell me about jungler ganks when yasuo goes aggressive, it's not how soloqueue works.

Stars Shaper1 votes

I can stun him point blank with xerath E or any other cc from mage and get away safely because I know he can come and play mindgames with him.

If you can't do it it's not Yasuo's fault.

Puppet33r1 votes

I'm glad for your xerath even though yasuo can easily block stun with windwall if you won't be careful(yes even in point blank). But what about Ziggs ? 100% of his skills get blocked by windwall and only passive is not a skillshot that he can easily dodge.Velkoz has very similar problems. Not to mention that riven-like bullshit with flash stunlock(e->(3rd)q->r).

Akali is SO HOT1 votes

Windwall doesn't have a 0 second cooldown. If he isn't using windwall that means you can land your skiillshots. If he uses windwall that means you shouldn't blow your entire load on him. If windwall is on cooldown you can use your combo on him. People seem to think that windwall has a 100% uptime so they can never land their skillshots against Yasuo.

Puppet33r2 votes

Good yasuos won't go in if windwall is down. Not to mention you are actually expending your mana resource(you know that recource that riot nerfed this season to gate mages early game) to even bait it out. It's also nearly impossible to land skillshots on someone who has infinite dashes. And even if you will be lucky enough to score one, he still has another safety bag with his passive shield that also conveniently resets after ulti, making him into what riven is to melee toplaners - overbearing snowballing broken pubstomper.

except what you just saw, yasuo misplayed, he didnt dive and get 2 additional autos off, 76ad + crit probably vs brands....... ???? oh right his level 1 E which you easily dash out of and continue to auto him through.

congrats, brand got 1 auto off (2 if you count the one to proc the shield, 3 if you hit him while he still has his shield up), yasuo got his 3. and his dash damage too.

i wonder who won that trade.

people seem to forget "just auto him" means you are in fact in range of yasuos tornado or his dash, and we all know who wins, early ad vs early ap.

his shield is cancer at early levels, its non existent after 6.

Akali is SO HOT7 votes

Yeah I forgot that Yasuo is immune to minion aggro and brand isn't allowed to do any damage with his abilities either. I also didn't know that Yasuo had his tornado up at all stages of the laning phase.

i totes forgot to mention "i botch up yasuo and have a trash winrate with him, i must know why yasuo is so weak now"

meanwhile i just lane against yasuo's all the time and im telling you, there is no surefire way to deal with him, if you're just standard last hitting, yasuo comes onto you, hits all of his stuff on you, best case scenario you also hit all of your stuff on him.

unfortunately he has a higher base health than most AP mid laners, + shield, and if were trading 1 ability + autos here yasuo always comes out ahead not just because of the shield, but because he has AD autos, mid laners do not.

you'll find yasuo has 517, where only ziggs and azir have more, at 524hp, the rest are well below, in the 430~480 range. the shield gives him more than enough to take occasional poke, so unless hes heavily poked out by a xerath, its going to very difficult with longer CD's to shove him out. and if he builds cutlass, its near impossible to get him out.

what makes the most notable differences, in the first 3 levels, is to just let him push, give him a farm lead if you have to (to just not die or risk jungler flashing on top of you for that sweet first blood), and manage the wave properly with abilities, hopefully play a utility mage and catch him when he dives you under your own turret, and kill him while he relentlessly pushes the wave with shiv and bounces back and forth with dive.

otherwise everyone is at an inherent disadvantage until the mid game when compared against yasuo.

You're forgetting that he has no scaling MR and is stuck at 30 all game making it incredibly easy to poke him out of lane as long as you aren't bad at using skillshots. You also fail to realize that Yasuo is melee which is a huge disadvantage against ranged opponents. They can poke him down from far away whereas he has to be in melee range to do his damage to you meaning he will be taking damage from you and your minions. His Q3's damage is pretty low early on in the game especially if he is maxing E so unless you somehow cannot dodge skillshots it isn't that hard to avoid his damage. You still don't seem to understand that all you need to do is auto attack him once and his shield is gone. If you feel the need to use all of your abilities on him when his shield is up then be my guest.

i play the same thing in my mind over and over on every single champion.

i go to last hit a minion with an auto, yasuo dashes to melee minion, to caster minion, to my face. he proceeds to auto, his faster MS means i can NOT run away from him until he chooses to back off from the turret.

my only option is a form of cc while hes mid dashing, i can not attempt to use a damaging ability without securing his free tornado knockup. + whatever else comes with it.

its standard yasuo to play agressive, not chill in lane trying to just farm, you go for the kill every single time, the only thing yasuo worries about is jungle ganks, thats his only concern, otherwise hes playing aggressive or losing/making tons of mistakes.

please tell me what you're doing, now tell me why you're such a great yasuo player.

the ones who destroy me (a mid laner) in lane are those who play aggressive. get early first solo kill blood, and proceed to snowball and repetitively dive and towerdive for kills whether it by my lane, or my side lanes who refuse to acknowledge my MIA pings and danger pings.

all the other yasuos eventually lose because im a better team fighting champion than they are. and i pick carries or poke well.

you are assuming you're up against a ziggs/xerath with a grail and is focusing you after 6, however you think an oriana for example is going to poke a yasuo out of lane, thats hilarious, her short range guarantees yasuos dive. when in reality before first back, you are GOD. and ziggs can use 6~8 Q's before going OOM, of which it takes 5 to kill you.

Akali is SO HOT1 votes

What you're saying seems like you are either afking in lane or have all of your abilities and auto attacks disabled. Your tin can hat is gleaming in the sunlight.

Very Hard Engage2 votes

im talking theory LoL, where "whats the best possible scenario" applies.

and the best possible thing for yasuo is pretty damn good. hes got tons of utility in his kit. not so much for the enemy laner.

whats that? sorry veigar, just blocked your projectile ultimate with wind wall, lets go ahead and put that on CD. 325MS immobile champion? just go ahead and take that tornado for me.

ive literally picked rammus mid for the sole purpose of destroying yasuo, zoning him from cs, and completely out trading him, denied him everything. total counterpick, he couldn't do anything, despite my team not having a second carry, and having a tank instead, but guess what, i made yasuo my B in all team fights and basically made it a 4v4, of which the enemy team only lost out on their damages for hitting me at all. and they surrender.

ya know what? because i know what yasuo is weak too, and his strengths, and what it does for the team when he isn't rampaging out of control in the mid lane.

im not saying yasuo doesn't have counterpicks, favorable or unfavorable matchups, but yasuo is lane dominant and prevents enemy mid laners from doing nearly anything on the map, as yasuo has great wave clear and dive potential.

xerath is actually pretty decent against yasuo, much better than Lux at least.

continue that clip man. im sure the next time he tries to shoot an ability at you, you will simply windwall it. then you will clear his creep wave while his stuff is on cooldown and then by then your flow is back up. rinse repeat.

sure, people will get damage on you, but it is more of a chore than it should be.

Akali is SO HOT4 votes

Or you know you could just auto attack him again and then use an ability. Or you could just blow your whole load on him while his passive is up and continue to do so when he uses windwall. Your choice.

I actually don't think a lot of people understand the basic counterplay to shields: wait you fucking plebian.

I seriously want money for every time I see a RIven use her shield, THEN someone throws a huge damage spell on the Riven just to have it eaten by the shield instead of counting "one mississippi" and attacking.

As some mid laners I love prepping my combo to bait a barrier, waiting the duration, then unloading the rest.

If you are a yasuo player, then you should know what happens after brand takes down your shield and goes up to poke you, you dash in auto q and dash around. Pretty sure you ll get more damage on him.

I don't know if he's op though, I generally feel he's on the strong side of fine, in other words he's fine, just annoying.

Fowus1 votes

what do if I have talon or somethin

Akali is SO HOT1 votes

Talon is actually extremely good against Yasuo. Yasuo has an advantage early on and can snowball hard against him if he gets a good early lead but if not he is screwed. Talon's bleed can trigger Yasuo's passive really easily because of how long it lasts and after he gets brut and pickaxe he easily has enough burst to kill Yasuo after poking him down a bit. Just don't engage on him when he has windwall up because he can block your combo if you aren't careful. Talon has 2 slows and is really good for ganks so if Yasuo pushes against you then you can call in your jungler for an easy kill

alright thanks :)

Garen and Fiora are anything but op. You can very easily and consistently kite Garen all day(unlike Darius ). And Fiora is only strong 1v1 cause y'know she's called grand duelist. But once she goes into 5v5 only her team can carry her since she is just a squishy melee champ who has to position herself very awkwardly to proc her passive with only 0.75 sec window to block something(this skill cd and invulnerability window are nothing compared to this abomination: Fizz). And where have you seen buff Azir thread? Or buff Cassiopeia? The only threads about Cassiopeia recently were asking for a proper rework into poison mage. If you don't read threads properly or have no knowledge of game please refrain from posting disinformation.

As Brand, when I fight against Yasuo, I start E. Point and click damage is the best way VS him in the early levels. If I start W, he will just dash and dodge it easily, but with an auto to pop his shield, followed by E and more auto + passive burn, Yasuo ends up losing quite a bit in a trade if he goes on me.
