Riot's response to gold funneling (symptom of snowballing) is really dumb

If you do good as a Jungler (nobody else just jungler) you are not allowed to do the best on the team or you're punished. It's extremely inconsistent with everything the game stands for, in addition to the fact that laners can still farm jungle for full gold?

Hilarious part, this isn't stopping me from smashing every game going 29-2 as Master Yi. I just have to sell my jungle item as soon as I get ahead and I can farm lanes freely and funnel gold.

Directly effecting gold income on players who are doing well.. I don't have words to describe how stupid that is. This wasn't even an issue till Riot decided to make a multitude of changes that give one player gold, as opposed to the whole team in a team game, and instead of reverting it, Riot basically made a cap to how well you can use the gold funneling they've implemented... but only as a jungler.

It's just stupid. It wasn't (and still isnt) healthy, but that wasn't the change that needed to be done. Reverts on single-player oriented gold income needed to happen.

Something needed to be done about funneling - unfortunately, the technique chosen still doesn't stop funneling in all its forms.

If it makes you feel better, then you might like the fact that supports get no experience when the carries head into the jungle to farm. (There's nothing so pleasurable as falling behind in levels and gold, while being forced to run through the jungle, guarding the carries -as they take farm and seeing the minion waves bang into the turrets. Sarcasm intended.)

Remember when ADCs used to take Krugs? Their solution wasn't to make ADCs get less gold on jungle monsters for not having smite. An item should never be handicapping you, which is what Machete does under the condition that you're ahead

I do remember that. And, heck, there is a similar trick currently in Korea involving the chickens and toplaners currently to help them hit an early Level 2. I think such things are wrong - but unless there are boundaries set - it will happen.

But I think my secondary point was missed. You see, supports also get handicapped by their items too - supports players can't take farm or the support mission and the item passive is put frozen. And, that again, was due to laners taking advantage of a role which the item was not suited for (e.g., ADCS and Targon's shield; Gangplank/Kayle mains and coin/spellthief; Ivern and Spellthief; Vladimir and Ardent; Toplane tanks and Knight's vow; Redemption everywhere; etc.). Supports just can't have anything good because other lanes exploit the items - consequently, supports have to deal with second rate stuff that is rarely cost-efficient.

Now, given that I have seen junglers abuse lane (e.g., overtaxing), and laners abusing items that they shouldn't (e.g., running smite or taking support items), I would love to see a bit of careful thought from the Riot balance squad.

Just a few things to point out, first of all, riot said it was a temporary fix while they sorted it in other ways, so this post is completely useless anyway, but another thing. You've missed the point of funnelling gold, funnelling is supposed to get one champion ahead of the enemy, not by winning a lane, but by simply farming a lot. This isn't a healthy state for the game to be in, so riot nerfed it. Yes the nerf is blunt, hence why they'll fine tune it, but if you're already ahead (without going funnelling) this change shouldn't actually affect you that much if you're making proactive plays rather than sitting in your laners lanes stealing cs.

They wanted to do more, but issue was is they did enough extensive changes during midseason (3 very meta destructive patches) and they didn't want to throw another curve ball at every single person. They said they would do more about it around preseason(or sooner).
