While we're on the topic of cripples (looking at you fiora) and nasus (shoutout to hatedaddy)..

It's no doubt that nasus is in a terrible spot.

The once late game powerhouse from season 2 has since withered to become a champion who scales ok into the mid game and then meh towards late game.

He used to be the champion where you conceded the first 20 minutes but then became the unduelable 1v1 God. What happened?

A couple things really. The first and biggest thing that a lot of people for whatever seem to forget (especially the infuriating crowd of people who say "nasus was never a late game champion" who are wrong as hell) is that wither got GUTTED. If you're wondering why nasus was a late game powerhouse in season 2 who suddenly became late game near-worthless post season 3 is because of this particular change:

http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/game-updates/patch-36-notes

"With a 95% movement speed and attack speed reduction at max levels, Wither was completely shutting down champions reliant on auto-attacks with no opportunity for counterplay. By reducing the attack speed slow, Nasus is still effective at suppressing champions, but his victims will now have the option to turn and fight.

Wither Attack speed slow amount has been halved"

the cripple on wither was cut in half, that's a HUGE nerf especially because nearly every dueling champion is auto-reliant (and nasus of course, was designed to duel these champions into the ground through relentless farming and becoming a monstrosity who could destroy their main form of damage while dishing out his own 1000+ physical damage Qs every few seconds). Nasus was no longer able to reliably 1v1 ADCs or auto-oriented fighters late game like fiora or jax.

The second thing that happened that I won't explicate too much is power creep. Everything in league is either directly stronger or just more complicated than it was back then when nasus was king of the late game. That being said, one thing that has remained constant in pretty much every dueler, even camille to some extent, is attack speed.

My proposal then is simple. If not entirely, at least partially revert wither nerf. The logic of the buff is sound.

#1 buffing wither maintains a shitty lane phase for nasus (as was meant to be) since he is obligated to max Q and/or E first before wither #2 it buffs his late game when wither becomes an important tool in his kit for singling out champions to beat down in a duel

Maybe 100% conversion of slow to cripple was a little insane even for a champion like nasus who is meant to be the splitpush dueling god. But 50% was too harsh, so maybe we can try 75%?

TL;DR

Partially revert wither nerf in season 3 that killed nasus late game dueling power so he can once again have some claim to the late game, even if not in teamfights (honestly I dont think he should ever shine in teamfights, but he should definitely shine more in late game duels than he does now).

I mean, there's no way in hell anybody's going to tell me a 99% attack speed slow is balanced.

His kit has clear weaknesses, Wither makes up for it. And even then it's not that strong. It's single targeted and doesn't give him any mobility.

Wither is already the most powerful slow in the game, and also the most powerful attack speed slow in the game. It is relatively spammable in a chase, and it can additionnaly be used to prevent a champion from fighting back. Adding buffs to it would only make it outright ridiculous.

Buffing it would only make it "ridiculous" late game once it starts getting maxed. News flash, nasus was intended to be a little ridiculous late game against other duelists.

Newsflash, late game doesn't start at 15-20 minutes.

Newsflash if nasus is maxing wither second then he either is going full quas mode and he wont have stacks to really do shit anyways or it's a q max nasus who will have zero waveclear and very little shred. Either way he's losing out.

If you're alone and near Nasus, you deserve to die.

So I shouldn't even bother playing toplane? He should be able to outtrade me 5 minutes into the game?

I don't know why I should bother replying to such a stupid reasoning.

This is why Wither is so overrated - people focus on the very last second of Wither and forget the other four seconds.

It starts out at 35% and ends at 95%. Averaged out, it's 65%. And even then, for movement speed, it's not even that much due to the way movement speed increases and decreases work.

65% reduced attack speed for someone with 2.5 attack speed gives them 0.875. However, as you try to auto attack (and as your animation plays), your attack speed gets even slower, making for the most delayed auto ever. Someone with normal attack speed (~1.0) gets 0.35 attack speed on average.

Don't forget his wither can reduce a hecarim who's charging with deadman's plate active with swiftness boots to 100-200 movespeed. His slow will kill off ANY champions movespeed buffs AND reduce their movespeed beyond that too.

They also made mobility a free thing that a lot of champs have, something nasus can struggle with, and they have added a lot more cc into the game, while taking out options for tenacity (bring back zephyr 2017)
