"We wanted Lucian to be super mobile, super spell-slingy.."

Oh hey, that sounds exactly like another champion that's been in the game for ages, his name's Ezreal.

Except in a panic you guys nerfed the crap out of Ezreal, and then left him there while releasing two ADCs who turn everything that was "OP" about Ezreal up to 11 (Jinx = ultra burst damage, high poke, / Lucian = Super mobile, almost caster-like character). Hell, turn Ezreal's ultimate into a non-global that has actual damage in a teamfight because it doesn't drop off insanely hard off hitting a wolf camp and tada, you've got a weaker Lucian.

When are we Ezreal players going to see real buffs and real changes to this champion that was almost instantly forgot about after you nerfed him too hard?

Thank god, after over a year of being totally unable to get even an acknowledgement of his existence, we finally started hearing talk about how Riot is "unsatisfied" with his W (maybe because it's literally been stripped of almost everything, but w/e), yet all we hear about is that "unsatisfaction" and how you guys would "like to" make it more meaningful, yet it's apparently definitely not high on anyone's priority list, because that's all we ever hear.

When are we going to at least start seeing some test ideas on the PBE or something? Quit the "we'd like to" mentality, get out of the chairs, pull the champion out of the trash bin and start working on him, pretty please. We've waited long enough, and releasing those two ADCs who have EXACTLY what ya'll thought was sooooo overpowered on Ezreal is just salt in the wound.

When do we get to see some actual attention paid to this character besides reworking his lore? It's not like he was a design that didn't work and has to be remade from the ground up, he's just a champ who you hit way, way too hard and now just can't keep up.

I'm tired of having piss-poor damage compared to any other ADC. I'm tired of getting called a trollpick as a mage.

Seriously, give us some real progress, and some real changes, and some real hope. Buffing items that literally are accessible to every single other character in the game isn't a real buff to the champion. He's not the only character who can utilize a Trinity Force or a Muramana, guys. That's not enough to justify his state.

Graves was also made sad by Lebron doing his job better.

Yeah, but the difference here is that Graves has always been more of a "burst" adc than a "trade" or "caster" adc. The comparison I would make is Graves is to Lucian as Riven is to Jax. Both have strong burst and strong trading power, but the latter focuses less on instant burst and more on sustained damage over a few seconds

Every bot lane AD in this "mobile caster" archetype has ended up being incredibly overbearing at some point in history, requiring nerfs in order to allow ADCs without low cooldown poke to be picked.

Time to put that archetype to bed. Make Ezreal, Lucian, etc into mid laners by raising their base damages, lowering their ratios, and raising their mana costs so that they need blue buff to put out continuous spam. Done.

I'd be all for this.

My personal favorite iteration of Lucian was near his release when you could build him with zero crit chance outside of maybe a Youmou's and he was viable as a "Mage ADC". If there were ADCs who benefitted more from building CDR and raw damage than multiplicative effects like Attackspeed and Crit chance, I'd play the hell out of them. Ezreal was one, before they made it not matter how you built him cuz he'd suck regardless.

I don't hate Lucian (kinda hate Jinx for being a shameless Joker genderbend), I like playing him. I'm just bitter that they dumpstered Ezreal, like almost-olaf-level-panic-nerf dumpstered him, because of the things they almost immediately proceeded to put on 2 more ADCs. It was a dick move and they need to friggin' do something about it instead of just pretending he doesn't exist except as a running joke.

ap ez is playable midlane and in faster game modes is really the only way to play him

Without having to burning ultimate for waveclear (thus sacrificing the biggest part of your burst because the dropoff in damage is WAYYY too high), he just outright lacks the range and/or pushing power to keep up with any mid laners any more (Ziggs/Syndra/etc) who all do what he does except better

he is also way safer than ziggs or syndra

Not without waveclear he's not.

Ezreal's primary balance issue is how damn powerful his Q is. Long range, travels fast, applies on hit effects, and gives him CDR on hit. He revolves around this one ability, because his W got gutted, his E is saved for escapes or kill securing, and his ult is on too long a cooldown to be a constant factor. Being able to poke hard from a very long distance while possessing an escape makes for a very frustrating champion to play against. Of course, he's one of the weakest ADCs outside of his poke, and that's bad.

His incredible safety is what holds him back from being balancable. Your comparison points Lucian and Jinx, are not fair comparisons. Lucian needs to be in a much shorter range to do anything than Ezreal needs to be. His W isn't that good as a poke, engaging with E is risky if something happens to him before he can do a spell rotation, and R is on a cooldown. Lucian's Q is conditional and does not apply on hits. Jinx on the other hand is much less mobile, Fishbones has a god awful attack speed, and W has a delay and a line indicator, and also does not apply on hits. The ADC who comes closest to having Ezreal's kind of poke and safety is Corki, who 1: has also had balance problems in the past, and 2: deals magic damage instead.

If Ezreal wants to get into a better state as an ADC, he needs his W to actually matter so he isn't a one ability wonder, and he needs to be discouraged from doing nothing but Q poking all day (or encouraged to get in closer).

I haven't said much about Mage Ezreal, but the only problem I find with him is that he simply doesn't do much. His safe poke is a fair tradeoff for lack of waveclear besides his ult, but his kit just feels like it doesn't have much nuance to it. All of his abilities are rather straightforward. ADC Ez having basic attacks as well just makes him a bit more interactive, even though he often opts to not use them at times.
