Honestly, my only issue with all of the Preseason changes is a simple one.

Sorcery no longer grants CDR which means you can't do 10% CDR starts without investing more heavily in CDR Runes.

What really annoys me though is that the opposite equivalent, Fury, still grants V/W//X/Y/Z% Attack Speed WHICH MEANS Riot doesn't acknowledge that CDR is a Mage/Caster's equivalent of Attack Speed.

Everything else I can live with, but this change wasn't even one that I noticed until it became live and it's just a thorn in my side because it means I either have to be content with discarding my 5% CDR Rune page, being stuck with only 5% CDR from my Runes, or sacrificing other stats for 5% CDR via additional rune changes or the 'Cunning' Mastery Tree.

To be fair, 5% CDR is significantly more powerful than 5% AS.

10% cdr is hardly useful for most champions and you typically do not have the mana to spam early game anyway. The 2 most popular "mana fix" options both have CDR item 3174 / item 3165 , and you typically get blue buff.

doesn't help AD Champions though. 10% Runes & Masteries + Spirit Visage + BC was my standard core build on Darius, Riven, Lee, Garen, etc.

Here's a crazy idea....

Run 6x scaling CDR blues instead of flat....

Sure it's weaker earlier a bit, but it still lets you hit that cap.

Alternatively Youmuu's Ghostblade (more AD no crit), Death Dancer, Ionian Boots of Lucidity (since 10% now and effects summoners), or Iceborn Gauntlet (mana/armor no AP) are all viable AD champion items for CDR.

Also I'll remind you item 3078 also gives you 10% CDR now.

Riven & Lee especially will eat up Death Dancer.

There are still plenty of CDR options now if you really want to hit the cap.

You've obviously never played Rengar, who relies almost completely on having a CDR heavy start.

"10% cdr is hardly useful for most champions" Not sure if serious.

It can be super useful on some jungles (Vi, Mundo, and Nunu all can run 7.5% runes, 2.5% in masteries depending on the match up and it will help) so this may be pretty damaging to some jungles given the increased difficulty of the jungle.

You'll just have to slip in a cdr/lvl quint if you want to stay where you were before, regardless of champion. Not a particularly big change.

we got some garbage 2% increased ap damage, aren't you happy

ok, but free amplified damage from sorcery? And Deathfire Touch?

agree, especially with cdr boots beeing nerfed and still haveing really little options for mages in terms of items. 2 item which fll the same niche(so you raerly will get both) that give 20%, 2 situational items that give 10% it's pretty hard to reach max cdr on a mage now, especially if you want sorc boots. So if you want to go a tear/roa built, you need either 30%cdr/lvl from glyphs+quints and boots/woa/lichbane, or 20% cdr and two of those items, which is pretty restrictive as lichbane and woa are very nich pickups. And for max cdr on a grail/morello built, you either take 10% cdr runes+one of the items, or 20% cdr and non of the other cdr items. together with the missing flat ap from masteries, that would either hurt your early quite a bit or force you into probably not optimal item choices

adc however get fot some reason 30%cdr of a single item(and infinit mana while hardly sacrificing combat stats for it), while haveing more other options for cdr aswell(yomuun's, BC, deaths dance, trinity)

Don't even have to be so specific. ADCs were given a feast. Mages were told to to lick the ADCs' shoes, clean the hall, and were then given the scraps.

I always ran Soraka with 20% CDR in runes/masteries. Now i got to buy one more CDR quint.

What about the fact you can get a 50% cool down reduction on flash and teleport with the right masteries and ionian boots with distortion? I'm pretty stoked about that.

Investing 5% in runes and 5% in cunning still means the only way to reach CDR cap w/out wasting gold on CDR you can't use is to buy boots of lucidity. I think that's what hurts the most. It means there are a lot of runes that were commonly used before that are wasted IP now. (Personally I don't like the thought of running a flat CDR quint w/ full set of flat blues, or having to buy 3 scaling cdr blues in order to have 10% from runes for builds I want 20-30% in build to cap on build or w/ blue)
