It's very funny to see Sylas solo kill basically everybody because of his overloaded sustain

Shield heal shield heal shield heal

So fun and interactive!

No need for spirit visage btw, that's just going to get in the way of the item build. Enjoy!

Hey Riot, maybe it's too much to have a character that's supposed to do damage, shield themselves and heal themselves? Maybe?

Just another new champion that was cool af in idea and riot just kept tacking shit into for no real reason.

Syrile9/5/2019, 4:01:19 PM29 votes

But he'z so skilz'd and awesomeseses in pro'playz!!!! Muzt keepz strong!

Thus... we have this trash invading our games all the time. I personally love Sylas.. but Riot needs to stop with the overloaded champions but they never will because bad players feel like they are pros playing them and they think it looks cool in pro play.

just nerf the W come on it's not even difficult like it's so obvious that it's just overstatted as fuck but we're just ignoring it. oh it must be his shield oh maybe it's the order he gets his shield and mobility. oh maybe it's his Q dmg oh maybe it's his R cooldown none of those fucking matter, only the W matters but whatever rito not interested in adressing the core problem and having a functional champion afterwards.

i hate his sustain and i hate when he steals my ult and it's, for some reason, miles better than my own ult bc of how hard it scales lmao.

They keep coming out with champs and rewords like this. The only way they can make popular characters is to overload them and make the brainless to play. There is way too much safety in the game right now. There is little skill required.

"do damage, shield themselves and heal themselves"

Wait it's still missing 2 3 dashes, a stun knockup* and any ultimate you can think of.

Edit: I just actually played him for the first time. I didn't realize he has THREE dashes only one of which is a skill shot and that his heal is on a targetted ability. I used to think he was actually a difficult champion. 6/2 on my first game because I ran into the fountain and yes I sucked on him as I struggled using his ultimate optimally and farmed poorly but his QWE abilities are easy as fuck to manage.

JuiceBoxP9/5/2019, 5:05:41 PM12 votes

Sylas doesn't even need to hit any of his skillshots...

He can e, miss 2nd e, auto you twice, q, miss, auto, w, auto, dead

The problem is that he is completely overloaded. And that is even intentional, since Riot's thought process here was "he is supposed to be an AP bruiser, but there are no items for that playstyle, so let's simply overload his kit until he is able to compete with champions with proper itemization."

Which means that his kit functions without items, basically. It is tuned to work with suboptimal items, so he doesn't rely on them nearly as much as other champions. And he can basically pick from every AP item that he wants and get great results because of that, because it simply doesn't matter what he takes.

He solo kills people because he can constantly weave in and out of combat, while shielding himself and burst-healing. I don't understand why a champ with his mobility and burst needs both a shield AND a heal.

I've been playing sylas a fair bit lately b/c he's fun but that champ is actually disgustingly overloaded, 2 part double Aoe Q with a slow, W is illaoi W but with a heal attached when youre low HP, E is a magic damage shield riven E COMBINED WITH AN AMUMU Q, and of course his Meme of an Ult that should have never been added to the game and was a bad april fools joke.

Champ is actually insanely overloaded.

SithesisLord9/5/2019, 10:41:22 PM3 votes

Almost as if giving him a powerful base kit + a powerful ultimate is a bad idea.

They either need to make him ult dependent and make the rest of his kit garbage, or make the resource conversion from the ults he steals utter garbage and keep his kit intact so he's not a better AP Irelia than AP Irelia, a better AP GP than AP GP, a better Kayle than Kayle, a better AP Ashe than AP Ashe, etc.

I'd lane against him though over Yasuo, any day.

Sylas is one of the most fair mid champions to fight against. His trades last one of the longest and the outcome is decided by skill - whoever lands the most skillshots. He does so little damage that he needs his heal, otherwise he'd get outdamaged by every other mid.

I've fought Sylas smurfs and lost horribly, and even then it doesn't feel terrible since you can point and see exactly where you messed up other than "he's 3/0 at 7 mins so just afk" This is a trait he shares with other really fair champions CassiopeiaVeigar Talon Ekko

For how "overloaded" he looks on paper compared to Garen he pulls it off well and found his spot in the meta where he's somewhat relevant but isn't dictating the meta or feels oppressive to go against.

mack91129/5/2019, 9:11:46 PM2 votes

But he does like no damage or are you actually gettIng hit by his stun so he can land a guaranteed q?

Every champion made/reworked after 2016 is a disaster.

DOUBLE TAPPED E9/5/2019, 6:39:14 PM2 votes

I like to stand in front of my wave to bait his E, then E behind him when he throws out the chains.... he still tries to fight too, it's cute.

lol, what are you smoking. He loses to Darius, he loses to Mordekaiser, he loses to Kled and Renekton, he loses to Jax, he loses to Warwick, he loses to Zed and Akali, and he loses HARD against Morgana mid.
