Some Changes I'd Like to See in a Future Support Rework:

This is obviously way down the line, probably a year plus, but we can safely assume Riot will get to supports, as a class, for some overall changes to champions, masteries, and items.

  • Experience: You don't have to play support to know that one of the biggest issues with supports is that they lack in xp during the game. Thru items, xp with warding and roaming, or masteries something has to be given to allow supports to level a bit better in game.

  • Mastery/Keystone: Supports actually haven't been ignored here by riot very much. They recently gave us expose weakness which can see some use imo. We have windspeakers and bond of stone as the other main ones. Bond of stone has been falling out of favor for some other keystones, but is still pretty solid for certain champions. I'd just like to see some new options deep in the mastery tree aimed for supports/tanks/utility.

  • Sightstone: This thing should regen wards.

  • Items: I think the main item changes I'd like to see is more. I want more items, choices, build paths that are aimed and really only useful for the support role. This is probably the most difficult change/addition I'd like to see as designing and balancing these items would be difficult.

I'd also like to see some more of this:

  • More support champions released.

  • Stats reflecting successes in saving allies.

  • Mini games for scaling like Thresh and Bard in other champ's reworks. I like mini game ideas for supports. It is a way they can get xp/stats/gold/ etc without breaking items and can make the role more exciting. Not saying add it to ever champ but I would like to see more of them.

TLDR: More. I want more options, more champs, more keystones, more stats and more love. [zombie-nunu-hearts]

Bond of stone is not really good because supports are really squishy. This is mainly because the tank item is very bad at gold generation later in the game and because supports are so underleveled.

Even if you build tank supports need other ways to mitigate damage to actually tank (alistar/braum).

If supports could actually survive a little more damage Bond would be much more useful.
