Can we admit that veigar "compensations" was a failure?

i would love to see veigar viable again. Idk why but now ekko has an ult with more damage than veigar's. I would like to see riot removind the circunstantiality of he being only usable (not viable) against ap champion, would be better make him an inverall good pick removing the ap scaling from his ult and buffing his own.

Annie is better version of Veigar atm...

almost all off his issues of unplay ability come with the simple 3 skill shots no mobility and a delayed stun, sure he does massive amounts of damage late game probably the strongest late game mid lane champ but you feed your balls off half the time to get their why can annie have a stun that can hit many and is instant but veigar cant?

Because Annie's was an instant 625 range stun in a small AoE that showed exactly when it was up and almost always required her ultimate. Vegiar's was a 1025 instant long range stun that was longer than Annie's on a basic ability.

For the topic, Veigar's Q was massively buffed and his mana costs were made less overbearing. The only problem I have with current Veigar is the massive unreliability of W after the E changes.

Q was buffed? I don't think you realize that adding a miss chance and the ability to have the projectile body blocked hurts Veigar more than the "can double your ap farm" offsets. In lane phase, lining up minions to actually double kill them with baleful still requires you go into basic attack range to ensure it, removing the safety the range increase added, and late game, veigars that were CD capped could still siphon AP from every minion in a wave. Since more creeps don't spawn, it basically means he didn't gain any more AP farm than he once had.

So having your Q able to hit enemies twice lategame wasn't a buff? Having Q able to poke AND farm wasn't a buff? Having an increased range Q you DON'T need vision of the target to hit wasn't a buff? Being able to actually Q waveclear instead of being forced to use W to keep the other laner from free roaming wasn't a buff?

Of all the things they changed in the Veigar rework, the Q change is the one I like the most. The only thing Veigar needs right now is some way to semi reliably land W, as without his instant stun he can only rarely get to land it.

It wasn't a buff because Riot lowered his scalings so his double Q farm had little effect. If anything, it was only a small "buff" that didn't compensate for his R,E or DFG nerfs.

I already addressed why it wasn't a buff in the previous comment. As far as poking goes, the targeted version was reliable, as well as being able to be used mid creep wave without being body blocked. As for the range increase, its only helpful if you're really lucky with your creeps dispersing damage evenly among enemy minions so you can land the double kill, or are just settling for the one kill. Also, if you're set on just taking one last shot, the extra hit pushes your lane.

Even if you think his Q changes were buffs (because let's be honest, it can be seen as a buff or nerf depending of your playstyle), they nerfed his damage lategame AND his reliability...

I'm shocked why Riot nerfed Veigar's Q CD lategame...

Because nobody wants to play against this stupid shyt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JscpJGSdF8

Edit: That's actually a bad example because the Veigar sucks and never lands his stuns, but you get the point

Veigar's stun still has massive teamfight presence and he can still erase any carry if he gets in range; Plus his Q stacks faster now, he doesn't need buffs.

The mini-rework was a failure because: Baleful Strike Cooldown changed to 7 / 6.5 / 6 / 5.5 / 5 seconds from 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 / 4. 1 Second more at lvl 5, nerfing Veigar post lvl 9

Primordial Burst Ability power ratio reduced to 100% AP from 120% AP. **Bye 20% self Ap ratio instead of removing the "unfair" 80% enemy Ap ratio **

The changes Riot did to Veigar nerfed his lane phase (because of the reliability of his stun) and nerfed his lategame (less dmg with Q because more CD, less dmg with ulti because it has 20% less AP ratio and less reliability with his W which has 100% Ap ratio)
