I have to agree with this. His lantern is no risk/high reward.
Love the idea, at least one of his abilities in already overloaded kit would have some drawback. Double-edged sword, if you don't use it wisely, you'll kill yourself. Maybe it would also make comps like Thresh + Kalista bit weaker, as it would give the enemy a possibility to deny Kalista from escaping with Thresh lantern.
Just a little thing you can do against thresh.
If someone is trying to escape with a lantern, use your trinket to put a ward on top of it (or bodyblock it yourself).
Whenever they try to right click the lantern, they will instead attack you or the ward.
I think this is a neat idea. If enemies can use Bard's Portal, they should at least be able to stop Thresh's lantern.

I personally don't like other supports in the game due to them being ridiculously easy to play while doing their jobs effectively, pretty annoying playing against a janna/morg/ali/annie that need to press a few buttons to be at max effectiveness.
This, or make it take damage so it can't just be placed in the middle of a clusterfuck

This could just turn Thresh's lantern into a twitch reflex test; whoever clicks faster on it wins. BUT I think it should still have more counter play. Make it have a small amount of HP (something like Zyra's plants) so you can attack it and kill it (maybe 1 AA for melees and 2 for ranged or 1-2 abilities). Additionally, to add some depth, hitting either lantern or Thresh with an immobilizing disable instantly returns the lantern. So you can take a choice: either CC your target and try to kill it in the time provided or deny it the lantern pull but give a chance to escape on their own.
Thresh's kit is full of bullshit but this is a good place to start. He could also use losing the CD reduction on Q hit and slow nerf on E - it already pushes, pulls, deals damage and empowers your AA's over the course of entire game.

I've pissed people off to no end by standing on a lantern as a tank. Yes, right click me as my allies pummel you to death. Oh yes.
Yea. Just stay under turret and whip out those lanterns for the enemy to click and they'll be in turret ranged. Bravo.

I think that this is a bit much, what they should do is expand upon the existing mechanic of standing on it to block it. Make it so that you don't just have to physically block the lantern from being clicked (which is difficult if you're small
) and instead just standing in its vicinity makes it unusable. That way thresh's lantern isn't completely invalidated if there are enemies nearby, but they can still prevent it from being an escape.
This would be lovely, though I would suggest a small channel (like in Dominion but to a lesser extent) for maybe a second or so to send the lantern back. Enemies cannot take a lantern while it's being channeled, but can stop an enemy channel by attacking them.
Provides counterplay against Thresh as well as counterplay to the counterplay if you're smart and not panicking... or maybe I'm making this way to complicated

I don't think this would destroy him, sounds good tbh, because you are throwing the lantern in the path of an ally so an enemy might have to blow flash to stop it
That's stupid. It's enough that you can stand on top of it and block a person from getting too it and that thresh has to be a billion miles away for it to be effective. He's a support champion. Why in the hell would you grab the lantern to focus him didn't anyone tell you not to focus him?
I don't think you actually know what overloaded is, because it isn't Thresh.
It'd be nice if some champions got a specific animation for it, like Singed just hoisting it back to Thresh.
Half of us can barely click the small ass lantern hitbox in the middle of a huge fight anyway.
