and since Riot is giving alot of buffs in 5.6, why not give some to Zyra too?

it takes a certain kind of special to believe zyra controls her plants well. zyra is squish, putting a squishy in AA range = super high risk, and for what, the extra damage from a support? zyra has no escape, and will get dove on picked cc'd and obliterated. "zhonyas ult" "your plants were attacking the whole time"
those would be valid arguments if we initiate the team fight and zyra can freely place the ult where she wanted to. this situation rarely happens in a siege attempt.
realistically zyra plants seeds and blows either her snare or Q to activate her plants, then she ults.
alternatively she just ults and while the enemy team is knocked up perform her combo which would be even better, which never happens because "side step OP" so she needs to follow up to someone else on the team.
so in a seige position shes placing seeds and growing them with Q for the poke. so while shes doing that shes not putting her face into the enemy team for AA because its begging to get poked pulled or dove. so commonly will her plants be insta gibbed, fodder for someone, or just going to hit the enemy minions because they're closer.
zyras plants need champion preference, then she would be good.
what actually happens is her slow snare gets dodged, and theres nothing preventing you from dieing minus your very long CD ult. at best zyra is good for damage and disengaging.
other support champs are just all around better, morg for instance.

Zyra's damage is absolutely crazy, but since its really hard to calculate her plant damage. her damage is insane though.
