If katarina was having bonus AD on her Q it would have been OP?

I kind like the AD katarina from the old days but i feel like her Q need to have some Bonus AD ratio to be better!!

So my question is if she was having it would have make her OP? or it wouldnt change anything?

It would be a small buff to her, nothing huge. Hextech would be more popular, maybe even bruiser kat. item 3146 item 3748 item 3078 item 3742 item 3065 item 3020

Funny enough, I recently thought, "Hm, the new duskblade kind of opens up new paths for champs... Can Katarina go ad again?" So I went into a custom game, farmed a hell of a lot and placed a beginner Miss Fortune bot to test assassination potential, and I can pleasantly say it works very well. The only AP item I bought was a Hextech Gunblade while grabbing Sorcerer Shoes for her ability penetration. I then had my friend jump on Katarina against me, he built traditional AP Katarina and I did my 'new' AD Katarina, and surprisingly enough I outdamaged him in every trade as well as had a better survival chance. We even tested single abilities like proccing Q, W, E, and Ult. Ad Katarina had a higher damage output overall. I even felt confident enough to try my build in a normal game vs a LeBlanc which I ended up winning lane. It also worked very well against a Yasuo.

If you want, I can write out my final build which worked well for me. It can always use tweaking to find optimal itemization.

I'm not sure if it would change that much.

All of Katarina's in-kit damage is magical, which has really poor synergy with AD itemization. items like all enhancing Katarina's kit beyond raw damage. AD does not, as no AD item interacts with AoE magic-damage.

Katarina's play-style also doesn't open up many opportunities to auto-attack. Katarina can't AA while she's using her ultimate or throwing Bouncing Blades, and if she gets resets she's just not auto-attacking at all, as there's no time in a QWERQWER combo. Which again, raises questions why you'd pursue AD over AP.

Katarina also lacks AA steroids of any kind. That's not normal: over 50% of the champions in LoL have something in their kit to make auto-attacks hurt more than what their bases provide. Janna has a +50 AD buff, Sona has an in-built Sheen effect, Akali deals on-hit magic damage, Fizz deals on-hit magic damage, Malzahar applies 100% of his AD to voidlings, Orianna has on-hit magic damage. Katarina just has baseline AA damage with melee attacks, putting her AA potential at Karthus levels of "why am I using these?".

Granted: it's worth noting AD+tank itemization is pretty solid right now, Katarina's bases don't suck and she's rushed Warmog's in the past, and mixed-damage with potent phys attacks and solid base magic damage isn't terrible.

I just don't see more AD ratios on Kat changing much about her, if anything.
