Keeper's Verdict vs Dragon's Rage

Why can Lee Sin punt someone halfway through eternity in any direction ever conveived with absolutely no wind up, but Poppy, who has to wind up quite a bit for her ult, can only punt people towards their platform? It makes plays with her uneventful because you there's no point in taking a huge risk on sneaking up behind a player in lane to punt them unsuspecting into the waiting arms of your colleagues further down the lane. Please Riot, remove the clause that she punts people only towards their platform so I can play a killer game of kickball in my lane with my buddy Sion.

Comparing 2 skills is just stupid. When you compare things, compare kits as a whole.

Ok, Lee Sin can deal damage while dashing to hit targets, he can ward hop, he can shield himself or allies while dashing around, he can gain attack speed and life steal, slow, and then punt someone into oblivion. Compared to Poppy who has a small slow field on a mini AOE, a conditional shield that she has to chase down to activate, an armor/MS buff that stops dashes, and a charge that stuns if you strike terrain, and of course, her Keeper's Verdict. Lee Sin's kit has more utility and dashing, while loads more damage, and he can out position anyone with his mobility and kick. Poppy can be hard to kill, but limiting her knock back to a single direction merely inconveniences others rather than sets up for plays in the fashion that Lee Sin does. Poppy has to work way harder for epic knockback, because she can't ward hop behind someone and then use it, so she should be rewarded for setting up for that kind of move.

Yeah, exactly, you nailed what Lee Sin is supposed to do. The problem is that you misunderstood Poppy intended role. It's not Poppy's job to out-position enemies and set-up fights for her team: she's a very defensive and reactive tank, and her job is to protect her team, not wreck the enemy team.

Look at her kit this way, and you'll see it makes sense completely:

  • Q is a hard-to-use slow, but it's much easier if used to defend someone, you know where the enemy will want to go.
  • W is basically "no, you can't engage now, GTFO".
  • E is "back away, let my carry alone and fight with me instead".
  • R is "BACK AWAY 10 MILES".

Her kit is very cohesive, very well rounded, and a great re-work. Maybe she's a bit weak right now and need some balancing on the number side, but she doesn't need kit changes and new functionalities.

To be honest, I had your exact reaction when Keeper's Verdict was revealed and I watched it for the first time. But take the time to think about it, and you'll understand why it has to be this way.

One's basically Melee range.

The other's a projectile with decent range and AOE.
