Can we talk about this?

Right let's start off by saying that Kayn, Aatrox and Varus are the 3 Darkin themed characters.

Kayn Kayn's kit consists of "Physical Damage"

Aatrox Attrox kit consists of dealing "Mixed Damage" [According to Riot]

Varus Varus kit consists of dealing "Physical Damage" [Even though only 2 of his abilities scale with AD, which is essentially a mixed damage kit]

Yes I know Aatrox is getting a full rework I won't start complaining about him any further, but what I wanted to say is that since they are all Aatrox Varus Kayn (darkin's) aren't they suppose to be dealing damage the same type of damage? Since they primarily deal physical damage rather than AP.

Which brings me to saying this, I think Varus needs to also have a mini rework in terms of changing scallings or to have a complete rework like Aatrox since they are both quite outdated, Varus being released in 2012 where as Aatrox in 2013.

Varus's Blight stacks should be his passive, then he should get a new ability in it's place. Other than that I think he's in a fine spot.

I agree with you now when I think about how it would work.

come to think of it, I have absolutely no idea what his current passive is.

Attack speed when he kills something or gets an assist on champions. Very uninspiring stuff, far trickier to use than other AS steroids on ADCs.

His current passive and his W need to swap places with the attack speed becoming an active AS buff. Or maybe it could become a non-targeted detonation that deals flat damage instead of % damage? Would be interesting at least.

Aatrox doesn't really have mixed damage, the only magic damage he has is the AOE damage in his ult.

Yeah I looked at his kit scalings now and I was confused as to why Riot states that he primarly deals mixed damage...

Probably because his e used to deal magic damage.

Aatrox does mostly AD damage just some abilities do AP, hence mixed.

Also varus can debatably be said as mixed considered AP varus is a possible/used to be an occasional build off of his blight stacks.

Kayn is also mixed damage since shadow assassin's form's passive does bonus magic damage (still considered darkin since he's using the scythe's power in his control).

If anything the standard would be to make everything mixed, but I doubt that damage type is even a standard.

Should all Darkins be doing the same type of damage? Why?

Should all Yordles? all Humans?

You can't just compare Darkin's to Yordles. There's only a few Darkin's, and they aren't a big race if that's what they can be considered, since in lore most of them are trapped inside weapons, whereas you got a whole Bandle City of Yordles Gnar Fizz Heimerdinger Kennen Kled Lulu Tristana Veigar Ziggs.

I think you missed my point. Why should Darkin be the only race that everyone does the same type of damage?

I just don't want Varus to lose his AP build D:

He could use some updates tho. His poke build got gutted and he's a sub-par utility carry if you ask me.

I think Varus is mostly fine. I think I'd like to see his damage per blight stack decreased, maximum stacks per champion increased, and then change his Q and E slightly. E wouldn't pop blight, it would also generate stacks in an AoE not individually. autos would pop stacks, but Q would pop the stacks of the first champ it hit, and then it would continue going and the next champ it hit would take Q damage, the stacks damage, and the damage from the stacks that the arrows had previously popped on the other champs hi too. After playing Xayah, I think it would be helpful if (given enough time or proper set up) Varus would be able to weaponize the enemy team's front line against them by stacking huge amounts of stacks on a front line tank, and then with a well enough aligned or fantastic Q, he could pierce through the front line and use that damage to fuck up the back line exploiting the stacks he's built on the tank.
