@Meddler - About your list of potential buff candidates.

I'm not sure if you saw my first attempt at contacting you (there are plenty of people asking for you after all) but I saw you answering some interesting balancing questions. One of those was about the kind of champions you're looking out for in the very near future, I'd like to talk about that a bit more:

Some of the stuff we're looking at for 5.18:

Exploring Buffs

Zyra Veigar Syndra Twitch

[...] Odds are high some other champs will end up being worked on too, and that some champs above will end up being taken off the list as work on the patch continues. The above are some of the key things we're looking into though.

I'd like to know if Cassiopeia falls under that category aswell (especially since you were talking about immobile mages), I previously stated my concerns about her well-being in a carefully constructed manner and would really love to hear your take on what's in store for her. You surely realize that we Cassiopeia mains have been hanging in the air for quite some time now without anyone watching over her since Stashu abandoned the project.

If I recall correctly, she's now in the hands of the champion balancing team (which would include you) so maybe you can tell us a bit more about what's going on right now. I feel she has been left out of the meta for too long now without any chance to redeem herself in the eyes of players, she simply gets outclassed by other champions (like Azir and Viktor) while falling victim to various other elements (such as the mobility creep).

I'm aware that you can't perform any huge changes on her to satisfy the needs of her traditional mains (the ones who are striving for a more poison oriented champion with more diversity and less focus on a single ability) but please give her at least some buffs so that she may be playable again in the current meta. Why should she be left out in the recent wave of changes?

I think cass needs a proper rework. Again.

As much as I hate this snake bitch, don't straight buff her, rework her again and again and again until you get it right Rito.

Just because a champ isnt played "in a competitve setting" doesnt mean hes bad lel. Cassio aint need buffs :]

The meta is everywhere, no matter what rank or gamemode you're in. People will simply play what they perceive as the strongest, that's how popularity is being formed. The majority of those popular champions happen to be natural counterpicks to Cass who outperform her in many other ways thus making her obsolete.

Then there's the issue of her statistics which undeniably prove that she's among the weaker champions in the game right now. She needs help, if you like it or not.

Im sure a Cassio main can easily beat a Ahri or a TF, right? Looking at statistics, she has over 54% win rate on people that play her often so I guess... Shes still extremely strong if well played we dont need another must ban.

Ahri and TF actually have very high winrates against her, if you're pulling your stats from a certain site you should see the proof right there. And I can explain you why that is.

Ahri has access to far superior mobility while retaining her bursty nature which is absolutely fatal for a squishy champion like Cass. Either getting hit by her charm or missing your ult (which is extremely likely to happen against a champ with several dashes) means certain death for the snakelady.

Twisted Fate may be even less mobile than Cass but he has access to his yellow cards and his amazing ultimate which enables him to be everywhere on the map, thus making snowballing via kills extremely simple for him while securing objectives like drake once his team has the number advantage.

He doesn't even need to fight you directly, he just can poke you from safe distance with his cards while clearing waves undisturbed. Once he got a yellow card on his hand, he can win any trade. In overall he's a better playmaker and roamer than Cassio could currently hope to be.

And no, I can't confirm your assumption that players with higher numbers of games have drastically more success with her. I myself got over 1500 games on her and can't stop losing since the meta has shifted. Her nerfs along with the buffs to her natural predators have made playing the game extremely unforgiving for me.

Ahri is squishy as fk tho and if Cassio gets a stun on her once shes probably just dead, also Cassio has better herass and dmg imo, same with TF.

Idk, nearly every Cassio I see gets fed and carries hard due to her toxic E E E E E kit.

http://champion.gg/champion/cassiopeia says people that have over 125 games with her have 54%+ win rate. At least I think thats what it means lol. Maybe shes not that good rn because she has no hard mobility and meh cc, but I dont think she needs any buffs tbh.

Cassiopeia can't even hope to hit an ultimate against Ahri. As I said before, she'll simply dash away before your delayed ultimate even goes off. An experienced player can immediately tell when she's trying to use her Petrifying Gaze. After she baited the ult from you, she only has to throw her charm and you're done for.

And speaking of damage, Cassiopeia isn't that great at it as you make her out to be. Just take a look at any game result chart and you'll realize how significantly lower her overall damage output has become due to her insane manacosts and her extremely risky nature which requires her to be at close range at any time to use her Twin Fangs. (The so called hypercarry she's supposed to be hardly outdamages her lane opponents nowadays.)

That's enough for any other midlaner to punish her massively. Most of the time you'll be simply waiting for the enemy to make a mistake, too bad that opportunity almost never comes since they have a free get-out-of-jail card. Trying to force yourself into them is simply suicide which reduces the chances you get to apply damage on them. And pushing the lane during early to midgame just puts a huge target for the enemy jungler on your head.

She also has massive trouble with clearing minions at her tower since she has to spam her poison to even enable the lasthitting with her E. After the last nerfs to her Twin Fang passive her gains from doing so are extremely slim which lowers her overall sustain in lane even more. She just can't keep up against an enemy who keeps pushing her to the tower. In the end she's quite easy to bully out of lane if you already outrange or outburst her.

cassio can win 1v1 ahri , its all about skill , sometimes there is some obivous jump so you can preshot your ulti$ , i have 400 games with cassio in solo q with 55% winrate i dont think that cassio is that weak but she need to be less twin fang dependant

Twisted Fate is rather easy if you pick up Cleanse against him -> then he can't duel... however Twisted Fate is supposed to be easy during the laning phase since that's not his strength to begin with. When it comes to Ahri, you can poke and harass her pre 6, after that she gets her free "out-of-jail" ability which makes killing her rather difficult.

except the circle jerkers only care about Morde and Cass

I think by doing something like making her stun instant would be interesting, or just lowering the cooldown. It's short-range with an annoying delay and the slow isn't that useful. I don't think I use it that often when I play Cass when I know I could be doing more damage during the time it takes for me to set up the ult properly.

They never fixed the fact she is to squishie for how immobile she is.

I wouldn't really say that Veigar needs to be buffed. He can be pretty scary, people just say he's bad without looking into it.
