As a consistant Plat player since season 4 I have to say that it means nothing to be in plat anymore. Honestly I see players who play like low silver basically every game. On top of the fact that games dont rely on skill at all anymore. Litterally whoever ganks the most wins the game. The game revolves around whoever ganks bot lane sucessfully and steamroles the game. You cant even do anything as the defending team as the other team just plows down mid lane like its nothing. Honnestly this game is worse than the beginning of season 6 right now. The worst part is that season 6 NEVER got any better, players just adapted to it. This game has gone downhill with each patch since season 4. Every single champion rework with the exeption of Sion Poppy and Yorick has been a complete and total fail. The removal of stratigic jungling has been removed and replaces with atrocities of randomness. Whats an outplay? I beleive it is something that used to happen before keystones existed. Theres litterally no point in playing the game at all right now. Riot you dropped the ball again and again and again. Can you wake up already.

Recently did my placements with other former Platinum players.

In two consective games:

  • Our Corki ADC built Last Whisper as his third item. The only armor on the enemy team was a Deadman's Plate on Hecarim and a Frozen Heart on their support Nautilus (and Corki deals primarily magic damage anyways).
  • Our Jhin ADC refused to purchase Lord Dominik's Regards when their Katarina has two armor items and their Shyvana/Nautilus had four armor items each.

While I can forgive mistakes in decision-making or gameplay, I'd expect players to know basic itemization at this point.

Anyways, the state of the game has just been completely screwed for the past month or more. If a team wins bottom lane through repeated ganks, they have essentially won the game (ignoring massive mistakes) due to the strength of Dragon, First Blood Tower and bottom lane being able to roam.

There isn't really a mid-game or late-game anymore since the game just snowballs uncontrollably during laning phase (which has significantly shortened due to the priority on killing the first tower).

I'm convinced that the ladder system is simply completely inaccurate. Games feel nearly completely random.

I love the game, I really hate the matchmaking. Provisionals are complete garbage, mmr is completely inaccurate. The start of new seasons is a joke, not to mention such a fucking mess.

We have pro players tweeting about being in silver, smurfs all over trolling the system. Players trolling each other to force dodges because its the only way to actually dodge games. Players autofilled into roles they do not want to play, after specifically picking what roles they do want to play.

Just throw up some tents and call it a circus.

Remake is the greatest things riot has done in forever. Focus on game quality please or you are going to simply lose your players.

Hopefully I'm not alone when I say I feel like riot does not care about the lower end of elo. If you are somehow 'fixing' only the top-end with bullshit tweaks.... thats not fixing, thats cheating. It will only create a mess down the road from a programming perspective, and fracture your 'ladder' all the way through. If the bottom of the ladder is broken, the top of the ladder is broken. Guaranteed.
