So, BotRK is really shit now?

Before the nerfs, everyone was using it. BotRK made Sated Devourer users obnoxious and unduelable. Vayne was dominating. And do people remember the time where Fizz could build a BotRK and then full tank?

But now, not even Vayne is using it anymore. I know that BotRK has been nerfed, but has it been nerfed so much to the point that it isn't worth using anymore? Because from my experience this item is still necessary against health stackers. I no longer rush it on any champion, but I find it to still be extremely necessary for certain champions.

For example, on AD Fizz, I now use Guinsoo's Rageblade as a first item. I only build BotRK later on the game, because it's effects synergize well with Fizz' W. But it is no longer a rush item. I also still use BotRK on Sated junglers like Nocturne and Master Yi due to it still having fantastic synergy with Sated Devourer once it is completed.

What makes me confused, though, is the fact that not even Vayne rushes it nowadays. I have still seen some Vayne players building it. But it is strange how BotRK, which used to be considered the supreme MUST BE item for Vayne, is no longer even rushed by her anymore.

I always sigh when I see an ADC build full-crit and meanwhile the enemy has a 5000-health Mundo. I get BoRK was nerfed, but it's still pretty necessary for dealing with health-tanks. You get Last Whisper (whichever upgrade is necessary) for armor-stackers, BotRK for health-stackers and you get both to deal with full-tank Sion.

Many of the champions who prioritized Botrk now rush guinsoo's as a 1st or sometimes 2nd item. (Jax XinZhao Warwick Tryndamere Irelia )

Right now, guinsoo's is too cost efficient, especially compared to Botrk, an item that becomes most effective the later it is in the game. Considering that it nets 54 AD and 48% atk speed at max stacks with a pretty nifty on hit, we're going to probably have to see some reductions in number of stacks, or stats per stack. Not to mention the AP bump actually helps fill in a few holes in peoples kits.

Down vote. This is outright an opinion and one that is extremely wrong. It gives attack speed, attack damage, life steal and a pretty involved active that helps secure kills. It is going through some changes like much of LoL but to call it s*** is out right ignorance.

It's not an opinion, the man is asking a question. Please read the whole thing before down voting. Giving an example is not the same as making an opinion post.

Well is not that bork isn;t goo anymore (it still is) but cheaper options has been made viable and cheaper making those champions hit a powerspike early.

Vayne will go for item 3087 item 3094 and will have all she needs to melt tanks, her lifestleal will come from the masteries and perhaps a doran. The aa dependand melees will go for item 3124 since most of them have some sort of sustain scaling on ap guisanos will be as effective as Bork but being a fraction of teh cost they can reach it much faster. jax has no sustain but he has Ap scaling so is also good on him.

Champions with no AP scaling will still get Bork over guisannos or at least a vampiric scepter before guisanos and then will build up on bork. For example Trundle would go item 1053 item 3124 item 3153 as his core items

Warwick would most likely rush a wit's or a botrk over guinsoo. iirc, he cannot proc the effects through his ult until it is stacked beforehand. botrk would offer him more damage and a better active.

junglerboy161 votes

he can proc the stacking effect that leads to the damage procs though, so no matter what he's guaranteed at least one damage proc with a full channeled ultimate.

I'm not sure because evelynn uses an on hit E effect, and only the first hit procs a stack.

Interesting, I've never seen that interaction before.

Bork should probably get split into two items, on focusing on the active/lifesteal and the other for the OnHit effect.

item 3144 item 1042 item 1042 item 1043 item 3134

Yup, it's pretty useless.

item 3036 does dmg to high health targets too, but when they moved it to only pen bonus armor it doesn't really help...it and bork are both pretty lame

The thing is, Lord Dominik does extra damage to high health targets, BUT it DOES NOT do damage based on their health. It is really good on AD assassins, since with the exception of Zed, they will not auto-attack often, and thus, it is a great item to allow them to deal with tanks... but a BotRK would be more interesting for an ADC.

Speaking of which, does the passive from Lord Dominik's Regards also increase the damage from BotRK's passive?

Because I was thinking, combining the two could be a nightmare for tanks.

It only says "Grants up to +15% physical damage against enemy champions with greater maximum health than you" which sort of implies that it should increase the damage of anything, or at least anything physical. Even if it does add to bork, it would only change the % dmg from 6 to 6.9, which is pretty decent, but for the current cost of the item it's still a little questionable. I don't know how the item officially interacts with other sources of damage, given the vague tooltip, but I think it's still pretty meh.

The passive damage was reduced by 25% and not only that, it was changed from max hp to current HP. it is shit now unless you're feeling edgy or have an extremely niche pick.

It was always current HP. If it did max HP damage it would be pretty OP.

Only the active deals max HP damage... and it still does.

Well to be fair it used to deal max hp (4% I think?), but they changed that a while ago.

http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Botrk

The wiki does not mention that it used to deal max hp damage

But they mention that it used to deal magic damage

They probably changed that to allow this item to have synergy with armor penetration, and also to allow it to be more easily countered in the early game just by stacking armor.

Disulfiram1 votes

Exactly. Madred's Bloodrazor is the one that used to deal 4% MaxHP in Season 2, but was removed and replaced with the Blade of the Ruined King.

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

You're thinking of Madred's Bloodrazor, which was the significantly weaker cousin of BotRK. He's now serving time for extortion.

With the changes to Bork's price, stats, and build path, it is not rushable anymore. It's better as a late game item to counter tanks. Early game, zeal items give more damage then Bork for less gold.
