She has a gigantic movement speed steroid that scales with her AP. Like it or not, that's mobility

You're comparing a small burst of speed to a giant burst of sustained speed

all mobility =/= Dashes and Blinks

It has nothing to do with being an AOE. Lulu's is actually meaningful enough to get her out of alot of situations that call for that kind of speed. Oriana's won't

of she shields someone then ws them it helps. An increase of 20-40% speed boost isnt nothing and it also slows

So you're basically saying that Galio is mobile because he has a spell that is a massive slow, and another one that gives him a little movement speed? By that logic, Lulu is super mobile, since she has a spell that helps close the gap on two of her abilities

She is not. If we do decide to tackle immobile mages next we'll also be looking at AP casters who are primarily damage focused, rather than damage utility mixes like Lulu/Anivia/Morgana etc.

Is Syndra finally going to get some early game damage back? Or some late game power instead of falling off a cliff? 50 on Q ends up being no more useful than an AA forcing a rush of 2 points into Q which still doesn't do anything. With the abysmal early game she has you'd think she scales into a hyper carry but instead she falls off hard.

And what of the crazy AP item imbalance? Some people blindly look at win rates and say mages are fine. Win rates are irrelevant as far as the state of mages go because both sides use one, and those people can't seem to comprehend that. It feels absolutely terrible playing as them. Playing a mage feels like I'm a 3rd class citizen compared to the other classes.

Are you mad? Syndra is loaded with CC and those orbs hurt like crap. Ever got stunned then blown up from her ult soon after? It feels like zero counterplay against most matchups. Even in one matchup I bested her in lane with Xerath and although she was behind we still had to focus her cause she c k uld still blow me up. She has AoE CC and AoE burst, ther is a reason she has been made "weaker*. She could just sit comfortably in the middle of her team and set up plays not to mention get kills on her own. For this oast weak I have played against 3 syndras (one of which was a support) and it was on of the most frustrating things I could deal with.

She is just having a hard time against the slippery and retardedly op midlaners who can juke and negate her ult's damage.

Neo Cyrus3 votes

Why do you talk about things you have no clue about. 50 damage Q, an AA does the same amount when you take MR/Armor into account. That "stun" is two spells, with the E on a massive cooldown. Don't stand in front of the orbs, it's not that hard. If you get hit by that orb, which fails to stun half the time anyway, you deserve to lose. Why is it that every Bronze player thinks they know what they're talking about? Jesus Christ.

Anivia only has one utility spell. Everything is tacked onto her E damage. :/ Can she get some QOL buffs atleast? Her auto animation is insanely long and hard to utilize, her Q circle indicator is really off an doesn't match what it actually is, and quite frankly, she needs a little help with the ap nerfs that went on.

ProfDrDeath6 votes

Leave. Anivia. Alone.

On the current patch, she is one of the strongest, if not the very strongest APs.

DwarvenGiant2 votes

The thing is, that the Champion Updates aren't necessarily about "strong/weak", it's mostly a matter of interesting, unique and not obnoxious kit and gameplay thematics. (I'm not saying that Anivia is not interesting/unique, just to be clear.)

Ralanr1 votes

How many other champions can make walls like Anivia? I'm actually curious.

DwarvenGiant1 votes

You mean things that act like terrain? Well, off top of my head, there's Jarvan's Cataclysm (R) and Trundle's Pillar of Ice (E). :P

thanks for answering can u say who will be focused on? Syndra annie?

DwarvenGiant2 votes

What do you think about Vel'Koz? I mean, I'm not sure what his current niche is is, but, as much as I love playing him, he's not that unique- He's basically a poke mage with a pattern of his own, with a mix of magic and true damage, or at least that's how I see him. I wonder, if he'll be given an update, if his hunger for knowledge could be fleshed out somehow through his kit. :P

Also, if you were to update Immobile Mages, will you include Zyra and/or Brand in said class update? I personally think that those two could have much interesting kits as well- Especially the plants-pets theme with Zyra.

Flemman2 votes

why is anivia in the utility mix, if we go that way brand, zyra and annie with their stun are utility mage too :s

for me, utility mage are the one with shield/heal/steroid buff for ally, not the cc/zone control one ?

Completely agree. How is Anivia a utility mix at all wtf. That means anyone with a stun or zone control spell is utility... which is all mages

elon wątroba4 votes

Her wall is pure utility spell? Rest of them have 4 dmg abilities, (zyra conditional). Annie has defensive steroid as last spell but it grants almost no utility.

So having one ability that is almost necessary for her combo to hit makes her a utility mixed mage? You don't pick Anivia for utility. You pick her for damage. 200% AP on just Q and E along with her ult's ap scaling + insane base damage is much more than a lot of mages.

Every mage is picked for a mixture of utility and damage, the idea that you'd pick Anivia exclusively because her QE bursts hard is ridiculous. She has a stun, a slow, a zone of persistent MS/AS slow and the ability to completely wall off the ideal pathway (either offensively or defensively) of an enemy champion.

Anivia has huge damage but she packs as much utility as almost any mage. She is absolutely not just damage focused.

ok so why did he include Anivia into the utility mix? He could've just said "every single mage"

"as much utility as almost any mage" lol

Sorry if my phrasing was unclear but by "as much utility as almost any mage" I meant to say that there are very few mages that have more utility than her, not that she's completely standard in how much utility she has.

Every mage is picked for their (supposedly) unique mix of utility and damage, that's just objectively true. But Anivia packs more than the majority of the roster unless you define utility as solely "heals + shields" and when she carries, it's hardly ever just because "she killed everyone really hard".

Anivia can place a fricken WALL on the map.... A WALL!!! You know how op that is? That goes beyond the boundaries of regular CC and newsflash she has 3 forms of CC on her kit that that work perfectly together and can distraught the entire enemy team. The ENTIRE ENEMY TEAM. You name 1 burst mage who has more than 2 forms of CC without items. Chances are... They are a utility mage.

elon wątroba1 votes

Malzahar, anyway idk why u have responded to me. I agree, that she's utility mage.

TeCoolMage1 votes

aw so lux, morg, TF and Orianna get no update?

Kaipop2 votes

I'm confused what makes Anivia a damage utility mix, I'm assuming the wall, but otherwise she is a damage focused champion. And I was wondering, will Zyra get any changes? She is my main midlaner that got me to Diamond but I'm not sure if she will be labeled by you guys as a utility champion/support rather than mage but for me she is a damage mage.

Will people like Syndra, Zyra, Orianna get looked at? Or are any of them in a good spot? Personally as someone who plays mages more than any other role, I feel like the control mages are largely unique enough already. I mostly want change for people like Xerath and Lux.

Can you please keep in mind that a lot of people, myself included, love playing AD Malzahar? He's like the successful version of Yorick. I'd hate to see it ruined.

True true, I love malz indear. His art, theme and what little lore he has all I awesome. Not to mention he was the first mage I began to carry hard with. He does't need a rework but he could stand to a little more imteresting. Ispammed him so much I got bored of his playstyle.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

Is Zyra one of those? I would love to see some changes for her, specifically that ult buff you had for her but then took out. What about Sona? Is she in your plans too?

YAY!! This makes me so happy! <3 I had already started fretting about you guys changing Morgana and I'm honestly not sure I'd still play if she was reworked.

They haven't announced the next one, yet. It's between Immobile Mages, Assassins and Tanks, last I heard.

Ralanr1 votes

I get mages and assassins, but why tanks?

Pentch1 votes

Anivia has a wall.. there's your utility on top of that she has an ult that slows a q that has option to stun upon impact or slow through travel. Don't act like I don't know a champ if I come to comment on a post. Also since you are disagreeing with somebody who has influence over league doesn't that make you the one who doesn't know much about Anivia?
