Malz is too high skillcap.

LL Justice··3 votes·1,907 views

53% win rate 6% playrate by autofilled players i think the skillcap needs to be tuned down tbh R outplay is too highskillcap worlds is on its way and the lower tier mid laners wont be able to play malz to keep up with the top tier mid laners at worlds and even get ahead of them without any effort.

Atleast faker cant get eliminated from final by a malz player this time hahaha

The funny thing is people actually call Malzahar weak despite him being in a fine spot forever. Sure he isn't fun to play anymore but he's nowhere near weak and hasn't been for a while. They need to change his ultimate, that's really all they need to do.

Incidently, I just replied to a post that "Malzahar is so weak he cannot oneshot." Then what is this. I only have 3 doran rings. Zero kills. Is this a frigging genjutsu that I see here? I think it is VERY real. Since I uploaded it on imgur.

But, anyway if they rework the ult, I'm quitting league. Because there will be nothing to stop zed/yasuo/akali/talon roaming rampant in midlane. He is a double edged sword that is heavily orientated to being a anti-carry.

There are other ways to make his ult anti-carry. For example they could increase the null zone size and add a grounding effect rather than a tether. Boom, you can't just QSS it, you can still fight back, and you can walk out of it. Malzahar has to hit a skillshot(albeit an extremely big skillshot) to land his ult, it's better FOR Malzahar players who play well and aren't behind, and better for carries who are fed and don't feel like it's fair to be able to do nothing just because of a point and click ability that deals a shitton of damage.

...And make it fine for tanks block the ult? I think not. Definitely not. I realise these days, people do not appretiate counterpicks. Malzahar is the MOST punishing pick you can make to a fist pick assassin. It is NOT fair and it is supposed to be like that. This is a strategy game. There will be pawns, bishops, queens and kings and knights. Albeit a 120 pieces. You cannot change what a piece is supposed to do, or it would throw the whole game overboard.

This is not a pvp 1v1 game. And ever since people have been demanding "fairness" and 50-50 matchups, Riot made a response, this "I touch you and you are 100-0ed meta". People should think of the concequences of picking and fear of counterpicks.

How would a tank BLOCK the ult? It'd be a ground targeted AOE just like his old null zone. You can't block that. Also you're talking about this being a strategy game and it not being a 1v1 PVP game, and then claiming that tanks blocking for assassins would be unfair...That's kind of hypocritical tbh. It also isn't just about counterpicks. I thought of this idea specifically to make it better for both Malz and his opponents(in fact it's probably better for Malz). As an assassin, you rush QSS, that feels bad for the person rushing QSS, and the Malz player. With an Amumu ult(or slightly smaller) sized Null Zone, that grounds the target, it'd make it just as hard to get away from, the player couldn't use QSS against it, and it'd be more about the Malzahar needing to land it just right. This would also increase his AOE damage with his ult. You'd have to literally walk out of it to get away from it, unless you had cleanse/flash in which you could cleanse the ground for a split second to flash, but then you're using 2 summoner spells for one ult. You're acting like it's a NERF to Malz, when in fact it's probably better for Malz than the players against him, but at least they won't have to build QSS despite being AP, can still somewhat fight him while being ulted, and the Malz can actually misplay by not centering it on the enemy.

look, I do not care about your "new ult" that was explained in a wall of text that can barely be read. Also I do not care of your bias about unfairness within matchups, and your reasonings around QSS. That is how a game with malzahar is played around, and that is what makes him a double edged sword that we malz mains really love. Also a large swamp with "grounded" can serve as a substitute compared to immobilization? I'll tell you what, Malzahar already has a silence so we don't even need that. I always start up my combo with hitting Q to nullify their flash or mobility spell.

It is a nerf, a heavy one. And a change proposition that will make the whole midlane matchup into chaos. Do you even think the that spell you designed has far worse effects on immobile champions? A amumu ult sized instantly made swamp that will make you unable to flash if you are being ganked. This is why grounded has been applied to only few champions with small aoe for it. It is a extremely unfair type of cc that cannot be cleansed if you are sitting on the zone.

His current ult has immobilizes immobile APs just as much as the ult I designed would, and it's not a nerf. You can QSS a Malz ult, this means you can get away from most of his damage as long as you have that one item. It's a feel bad situation for Malzahar. An Amumu sized grounded ult would mean you cannot flash out(without cleansing AND flashing, or QSSing AND flashing), meaning it'd be much harder to get away from his voidling damage. You can't use any dashes while grounded, which most assasins have. Malzahar is target agnostic, not assassin specific. He can kill anyone regardless of what they are, as long as he can lock them down. The idea that he is an assassin killer is designed solely based on the fact that he can stop mobile champions with a point and click ult. But guess what? He can stop anything with a point and click ult.

Malzahar builds Rylai's, that would slow you, you'd also be grounded. So you have to literally walk out of his voidlings to escape their damage. HOW IS THIS A NERF FOR MALZAHAR? The only thing this might even be POSSIBLY considered nerfing IS HIS DAMAGE TO IMMOBILES because they stay far away from him and it'd be hard for him to center the ult on them without putting himself at risk for being killed.

I'll give you an example situation. Akali is hit by Malz's combo. She now has malefic visions, and minions on top of her. She now can't use her E, or her ult. She can only use her Q and W. Her W might save her, but she's still taking DoT damage from the ult, as well as malefic visions is proccing on her so you know where she is, and she has a decent amount to walk while being slowed by Rylai's. She loses that unless she manages to get out of the ult or Malzahar only hits her with the edge.

Here's another example. Malzahar ults Katarina. She now can't use her E, which is her most important ability in a fight where she has to pick up daggers. The only thing she can do is walk out of it/W. She's also slowed by rylai's. She loses unless she manages to get out of the ult.

This literally benefits Malzahar more than assassins, they just don't have to build an item that's counterproductive to their build anymore. In fact QSS benefits Zed with AD, MR, and lifesteal, so it could be more damming to him.

I put this simple.

We do not want malzahar to be a zone control mage. He is a ap nuker that used pets for utility.

Yes, because a 140/110/80 second ult is going to make him a zone control mage, and his pets are used for utility instead of damage, despite having only damage, and no utility. I don't think you understand Malzahar one bit by saying either of these things. His pets are his damage(along with his E and ult), and his Q is his utility. His ult would literally be the exact same thing as his old W, WITH EXTRA UTILITY ON TOP OF IT, AND WIDER. So I have to say...WHAT?

TLDR:Malzahar is and always has been a DOT mage, even now.

Btw before you say anything about downvotes, it's not me doing it(although your last post was 100% downvotable because it made absolutely no sense, and Malzahar has never been an AP nuker, because nuke, is burst, and Malzahar has never been about burst, unless you consider his old E, which was STILL DOT, BURST simply because of the fact that it did half your HP by pressing a button and walking away, DESPITE IT STILL NOT BEING BURST).

I dont care about my downvotes. I literally was the 16th place mastery on malzahar before i got employed and played him for 5 years. I know my champion and he is a ap nuker and a disruption mage. I have a strong stance of what my main champion is and have the dedication to declare it.

You don't have the dedication and levels to shout down on me without knowing even knowing what malzahar does.

I played old Malzahar plenty before he was reworked, got a chance to play him when he was reworked and oppressive and he felt amazing, sadly they nerfed the wrong things about him and turned him into a support, and now he's still strong but not as fun to play. He's never been a high skill cap champion, and mastery has nothing to do with game knowledge. Malzahar DOES NOT BURST, he deals damage over time. Also the ult change I mentioned would do NOTHING DIFFERENT to him outside of make him MORE DISRUPTIVE while ALSO GIVING THE PLAYER A CHANCE TO SOMEWHAT FIGHT BACK without forcing them to buy QSS. They'd still lose to a fed Malzahar, and probably still to a Malzahar who wasn't ahead as long as he played correctly. This would just give Malzahar more skill expression, and they would be feel good improvements for Malzahar specifically. I also never said anything about nerfing his damage. If anything he would be buffed because all that upfront damage would move into his DOT which would hurt a lot more if you managed to stand in it for long enough(especially considering you couldn't just QSS out of it, you'd have to QSS, and flash out of it and couldn't get back into it if you wanted to use a mobility ability). He does not burst, he deals DAMAGE OVER TIME.

The ult I suggested would counter Yasuo, Akali, etc SO hard still, probably moreso with the changes I suggested than currently. And I didn't even talk about how Malzahar would be able to still move around and use abilities since it would no longer be a channel. Btw the clip you posted against that Yasuo took 5 seconds from the beginning of you using your abilities, that is not burst.

Ok chill dude. So I think we can both agree that Malzahar is a dot mage that can do significant damage overtime. I think we have a misnderstanding. What I believe that makes Malz "technically" a burst mage still is that he "stop time" with his ult for the dot to have 2 seconds of impact. As a result of that forced passed time. malz has burst in that time bubble.

From a pvp 1v1 perspective, malz IS killing the enemy by a constrained sustained damage combo. But if you look at the 2 from a third person perspective, malz is doing slow damage and you can stop him and the 2 is in deadlock.

But, because of this perspective if malz wants to be premiere dot mage that can kill somebody, he needs to lock people into place to get this "time advantage". A lot of "poison" characters in games use this advantage by...most of the time running away, but when it comes to immobile characters, they have no choice but to make the enemy as immobilized as possible.

Here's the thing, giving a player no possible way to react outside of building a suboptimal item is not good for the player having to build it, and the Malzahar player who has to play against that(since his ult is a huge portion of his power budget) also feels bad. If you've EVER played against a grounding effect(even small areas like Singed W), it can be DEBILITATING. This is why I suggested an Amumu sized Null Zone(maybe a tiny bit smaller as that might be TOO big), so that players can't just walk out of it. His minions do a LOT of damage over time, and being unable to get away from them gives Malzahar a lot of control. Players would no longer be able to take that feeling of power from Malzahar, and Malzahar would no longer be able to take the feeling of power away from anyone else. It would make everyone feel better about playing both against and as Malzahar, in my opinion. Also the damage would literally not change, it just wouldn't be upfront anymore from the tether, it'd be dealt into his DoTs, meaning the longer he kept someone in it, the better, and with a size like that his null zone would end before they got out if he placed it on the center of them. Don't you think that'd be better than being stuck in place while you're ulting someone, and then they just QSS out of it and proceed to kill you, or someone else jumps you and kills you while you're ulting someone? He'd have much more control of situations, he could ult entire teams, etc.

I mean they nerfed him so his R would require more of a skillcap. Besides I think it's healthier for a competitive game to have more highly skilled characters than lower skilled. It's just better competitively.
