Jax main here. He doesn't need buffs for as long as Spear exists.

He just got buffs last patch? Cmon dude Riot is trying

At this point its time to stop messing with Galio's numbers and give him a mini update already. It's clear Riot can't balance him without pro players sperging out and complaining like they always do.

Damoklese8/6/2019, 9:18:42 PM13 votes

IMO they never should have reworked him the first time. He was a niche champion that had an effective kit. It may not have been perfect, or "fit for the pros" or whatever, but it was fun and straight forward.

I despise his rework, and im not surprised they cant figure out how to make him viable. They tried to turn him into a generic champ while still keeping small bits of his old kit. Id love them to revert him to his old kit, but since that will never happen, I am all for a complete rework.

How about bringing back his old wind attack that leaves the move speed buff on the ground? And ya know what...just get rid of the taunt. Screw the taunt. You obviously cant balance around his taunt. Give him a stun or something. Or maybe embrace his whole "wind" aspect and give him a ability that drags people to him.. or slows them if they are running away from him.

Whatever they do..they just need to stop trying to smear more lipstick on this pig. It aint working. Throw it out and start over.

Damage will never be the answer to Galio's problems. Nobody wants him to have .9 ratio AP Assassin damage.

Nobody.

We just want Galio to lane. How pathetic is it that an anti-mage has had more success in the lane with AD carries. And you rob him of everything that made him viable and call it a "solo q buff." Putrid, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Akali Jayce Yasuo all floating around 45% RITO BUFF PLZ (see what i'm saying?)

Galio doesn't sell skins.

Muh esports Muh skins

AirKingNeo8/6/2019, 9:29:12 PM3 votes

Galio was viable for like 2 whole years or something? How long have Jax and Lux been viable in the last 2 years?

Come on, you're the biased one here.

Galio's kit is inherently toxic because if you give him high AP ratios (with a flash Taunt), he pulls a Tryndamere and puts on his wizard hat and terrorizes mages by being uber tanky with too much damage. Galio doesn't need to have high damage ratios for what he does. He inherently wins versus AP matchups by tanking their abilities with his passive AP shield and then gives them a sizeable all in with his E-AA-Q-W-AA-Ignite combo.

I think Riot needs to make Galio's abilities deal damage based off of % max HP as compared to AP. That way he fits in as an anti tank that is good versus magic damage.

I highly doubt reverting Galio to pre-rework would solve much.

The higher overall damage of modern League plus the increased presence of grievous wounds would greatly reduce the effectiveness of his old W, he'd be back to having next to no play-making ability without both his ult AND Flash being up, and his melee AA range would be more of a hindrance (since without W active, old Galio had no innate protection against poke, like new Galio's magic shield).

MetalGear Jotaro8/6/2019, 11:45:24 PM2 votes

lets be honest : Riot are probably preparing a new Jax skin, so they're buffing him beforehand, to ensure good sales

Galio has huge cd problems and mana problems. Also the fact he doesn't do that much damage, and if you mess your combo you're pretty much useless. A Revert is needed or a rework again.

NTrumpWeTrust8/8/2019, 1:01:55 AM2 votes

Him and a tahm need a rework.

CurS1VE8/11/2019, 9:05:23 PM1 votes

i play galio support still; idk i think he is good still tbh

still same ol' galio, the no flash W thing is kinda stupid tho, if i want to blow a 5 min CD for a Taunt i should be able to; that's the trade but whateva..Same thing wit Taric flash E..

Morbys8/7/2019, 6:19:17 AM1 votes

Probably because he doesn't need buffs? Pick rate/win rate doesn't dictate whether a champ gets buffed or nerfed, otherwise there would be nerfs/buffs of ALL popular champions every patch cycle. Tweaks need to happen thats for sure, but Galio is pretty damn strong. People just don't pick him b/c this current meta favors a lot of other champs.

Makarakarn8/7/2019, 3:01:49 PM1 votes

Remember that one time they overbuffed Galio? Yeah I don't think Riot is too eager to make that champion stronger.

The Kombinator8/8/2019, 8:41:33 AM1 votes

You wana tank meta again! Don't you dare suggest anything about buffing a tank champion again. Beside it has over 0% winrate so just git gud.

JoeMG8/8/2019, 4:52:00 PM1 votes

Don't worry, I'm sure the Lux buffs will get compensated by a new skin soon enough! [slayer-jinx-wink]

I do feel kind of bad for saying this, but I'm ok with Galio being where he is now. When he's viable, he's just a massive offensive and defensive threat with almost no room to punish. I agree his rework was a mistake. Maybe I'm also salty cuz I was M5 with old Galio ;-;

Zullar8/8/2019, 7:19:30 PM1 votes

The balance team seems to only care about pro play. Ryze was the lowest win rate champion in the game (45%) and repeatedly nerfed.

They also don't seem to care about the mobility and burst creep that is ruining league.

bluefire mark 28/9/2019, 9:36:02 PM1 votes

Galio can never be strong because he's perfect for pro play. Any buff just makes him too strong for pro play. And riot doesn't want him too strong for pro play. Therefore since pro play exists galio will never be strong.
