You can outright make support the most impactful role in the game, and it will still be unpopular

So please stop pandering to people with mindsets that inherently don't mesh with the role because it feel like you're seriously fucking it up for actual support mains.

There were numerous points in season 6 and 7 where the support role was legitimately broken, but people still wouldn't play it. At some point it has to be accepted that no matter how you screw with the game, at least one role has to be the least popular. If you prop up supports enough that a ton of people play it, people will just bitch and complain about getting whatever the 2nd least popular role is.

While i do agree with you, its not really Riots fault, and more to do with how the person themselves see the support role. For a lot of people its boring because they see themselves as only being ward-slaves. If that is all you are doing, or all you think a Support role is, then there is no helping. Ive been playing Support for a number of years and not once have i found it boring. I try to help by warding, and i help my teammates get kills, by cc, or dealing enough damage so anyone on my team (including myself) can take a kill.

People just need to stop being Meta-Heads, or whatever the term people like to use for people who are too focus on the meta. Supports can be so much more, and its sad that it needs to take a pro-player to show those types of people who a role could be played differently. Like Rioters have stated basically any champion could be used in the Support role. I try to change out my style and see what can work. Thats sadly a risk most people wont take because of their mindset of what a support role is suppose to play!

If that is all you are doing, or all you think a Support role is, then there is no helping.

That's exactly why I don't think Riot should bother pandering to people with that kinda mindset by introducing shit like the prenerf Redemption, Locket, and Ardent Censor.
