They told us they're changing his E to something that "isn't stats related." Basically, suppplank is useless now, and he'll have a hard time playing anything but critplank. Tankplank is losing its movespeed steroid and a whole chunk of utility along with it. No more kiting Gnar or anyone with a persistent slow.

No you are not. Also if riot had to balance around 10k off builds (Muhh ap ashe cannot stack tear fast now gg rito) then we would never get anywhere. As a side note: When you think legendary pirate captain is your first thought really a support? Just wait and see how it turns out.

I don't really play Gangplank so this is just my opinion, but no captain is without his crew. Ship captain sounds like he barks out orders, meaning he needs someone to bark at. Why not allow him to be a support, he could tell the ADC how to be a badass pirate. I would love to see him more, and I hope you guys get some goodies after this rework XD

Riot said "apologies if we end up removing that playstyle" which means "we won't even think about it while making the new kit, good luck tying to make it work afterwards after we removed all the elements that made sense".
They'd just have to hire more people, and balance is not as hard as you all believe. They just need to stop making champions for one role, and just balance them around what people find them good for.
The suport is the playmaker and leader, not the adc. "MUH DPS" nope.

personally, i'm looking forward to this. I just got him and love him, but his E is the last thing I max just because it offers so much less than a nearly free poke by before mid and a heal on steroids. his W heals almost 400 at max rank, meanwhile, his E gives him like 4 passive AD and 20 if activated, all the way up to 12 and 40

he doesn't even get an attack speed steroid, just AD and movement...though if they give him an attack speed steroid instead, they had better make it an on-hit ability

or how about for fun, "2nd parley" or something XD lol, 3 seconds is low enough, but he needs another damage ability, otherwise he will be nothing but critplank and ap tankplank

the pirate is not a tank T.T

It's 40 AD passively, boosting to 80 plus movespeed for his entire team.

His E is beyond powerful, and it can snowball your lane when used right.

I'm going to miss supporting with him. :(

He gets 720 gold worth of free damage stats abs and passive free pair of boots. Active is closer to a BF sword and swifties.

Don't knock the power of free stats like that.

personally, I like gangplank because he snowballs even if it's a tied lane

I haven't fully experimented with it, but the spellthief line encourages aggressive early game and then while it's charging again, use your Q to farm, though upgrading above the first isnt' recommended. this is your replacement item for the 3charge potion

his gold gains are just absolutely massive...that's way better than the free stats, but yeah, I do enjoy saving my teammates with a free sivir ult XD but usually they're in too deep

I use him with the utility line of enhancements for bonus move speed and gold gen...8 gold every 5 seconds while still farming minions is just op XD so typically I start with more mana pots than health pots, Q an enemy to death every 5 seconds and enjoy the profits XD

they could always give him a jinx passive on the new E XD it's fun to get a burst of move speed and see that trademark, "where did my hp bar go?" expression of fear XD

They did a sort of Q&A and upon being aked about supplank's future and his E, they said "Apologies if we end up removing a playstyle that it looks like you enjoyed", which basically means "we are giving GP a meta role and we don't even know about all the old variations he had, who cares about offbuilds anyways lol let's make more people like Lucian"

Is it any surprise? Riot has had quite the record of locking champions into a single role. And if they dare to leave said role, they nerf the hell out of them.
