Less OP Karthus Buff

I've seen a ton of people complain about Karthus getting nerfed due to Edge of Night, but really guys, most of your buff suggestions just remove any counter play from the ability. Allow me to fix the ability...

R- Requiem

Channel Time reduced from 3 seconds at all ranks to 3/2.25/1.5 seconds

The channel time of Edge of Night is 1.5 seconds so it would be impossible to simply press Edge of Night in order to avoid Requiem unless the target predicts Requiem is coming and uses it. Now, Karthus ultimate still has counter play but it comes more with prediction rather than just seeing it is coming and popping Edge of Night. It also still has counter play while not being countered as hard by so many items (and champions).

Personally, I prefer another idea I've read. I forgot who said it, but the idea was basically breaking his ult into three smaller bursts. One at one second into channeling, one at two, and one at three.

There will always be champions that abuse certain masteries, though. Like Brand and Deathfire Touch.

The point is that the new item is extremely badly designed.

i'm not arguing the design of the item, but it is not going to be nearly as detrimental to Karthus as people say it is

if you press R in front of everyone, they'll just kill you because in 3 sec you don't know how many damage you can take in this meta

or stop your ulti.

If you're playing correctly late game you should be saving your ult until after you're dead or you've already won a teamfight and are just picking off stragglers

If you're ulting to help someone in a fight the enemy won't be able to activate the shield anyway, they're in combat

It only counters your ult when they're not in any fights and aren't going to be in one. So, when they're going back to lane.
