Had a Diamond in my normal game as a Silver BUT....
......I still carried my team to victory.

Thats right. The enemy team got a Diamond 5 Mid laner and we got a Bronze 3 jungler, but we still won. Stop using rank as an excuse for playing poorly. With the rest of my team struggling, I was able to to take the advantage I had accrued from my own lane and spread it throughout the rest of the map. Roamed mid. Teleport ganks. Kept my lane shoved for pressure. Showed up for objectives.
How do you expect to get out of Silver if you aren't willing to play against Gold? How can you expect to reach Diamond if you refuse to believe you can play at a Diamond level? How can you expect to become better than Silver if you refuse to play against anyone thats not Silver?
Stop viewing playing against higher ELO players as a handicap and instead view it as an opportunity. Diamond players start the match exactly equal to you. The rest is how they play. There is no reason you can't play as well as them besides yourself.
Do I think I can keep a Diamond player suppressed every game I play? No. But even losing is an opportunity. How did the high ELO player get ahead? What did they do to further snowball their advantage? What should I have done better? What do I need to change to play at that level?
Instead of "oh boy the diamond Talon roamed bot and got a kill GG" it should be "I'm going to roam mid and help shut down that Talon". Instead of "my bot lane is feeding /all GG report bot please" it should be "what can I do to get my bot lane back in the game?"
I'm not saying you can win every game but if you start to take a more proactive approach to getting better you will start winning more. After years of being a Silver player I'm in Silver 2 with a 70% win rate and on my way to Gold. My ranked MMR is even already at Gold 3 (at least according to this site https://na.whatismymmr.com/eedat ). The big difference this year is that I stopped blaming others and focused on playing the best I possibly can.
So stop blaming others, focus on improving, and the wins will come. Use normals as an opportunity to improve instead of complaining about ranks.
P.S. before someone says "But he was trolling! Look at his build!" you should know that he sold his items and bought those while we were taking the nexus. View his actual build here: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2267019862/209139549?tab=builds&participant=3
EDIT: the consensus seems to be either "he's boosted" or "he's playing an off role". If you look him up you will see that he's a Mid main, actively still playing ranked, won 7/10 of his last ranked games, ranked games don't have repeat members on his team (aka dynamic queuing), and has ranked games as Talon this year....not saying its his main but he knows how to play Talon
