If the jungle changes on PBE go trough, tanks are gonna have an even harder time clearing.

Taken from the PBE :

Jungle Summoner's Rift All camps all now spawn at 2:00 instead of 1:55. Crimson Raptor base HP increased to 1340 from 1200 Raptor base HP increased to 300 from 250 Raptor damage decreased to 18 from 20 Greater Murk Wolf base HP increased to 1440 from 1320 Murk Wolf movement speed increased to 500 from 450 Ancient Krug base HP increased to 1560 from 1440 Krug hp increased to 620 from 540 Gromp base HP increased to 1800 from 1600 Blue Sentinel base HP increased to 2100 from 2000 Sentry base HP increased to 450 from 400

I don't think the small buff on machete will compensate for the huge HP increase of the camps.

Combine that with them spawning at 2:00, and almost nobody will leash for you anymore.

On tanks like Nautilus , Sejuani or Zac, that bit of extra damage really helped in their already hard first clear.

I honestly don't know where Riot is going on with this. They wanted more diversity by allowing tanks to have a shot at jungle this season, but so far a lot of their changes is hurting them more then anything else (like the removal of the CD reduce on the AoE smite). The Gromp is supposed to be the start for tank, and it's already hard to kill at level 1 (with no leash on Nautilus, this guy takes about 50% of my HP). Increase his HP by 200, and man this is gonna hurt...

I believe Riot will have to buff tank junglers more to compensate.

You get to smite the first two camps and machete does more damage for make up for the camps having more health.

I'm really not clear if the damage increase on machete will compensate for the HP buffs to monsters. If it does then this a good change as it makes it harder for non-junglers to poach. If it doesn't this change is pure bullshit.

What is funny is they increase the spawn timer for the jungle spawns, which means getting a leash penalizes the lane that you choose to get a leash from, and considering a leash is practically mandatory for the safety of the jungler, this may emphasize solo jungle clearers.

They are doing this because, players are just staying in the jungle to give even a BIGGER leash than they were before which kind of contradicts what they wanted with the jungle. Like I sometimes ask my bot lane to stay till there is 400 hp left, so I just one hit smite it, I take less than 10% hp dmg; the smite also heals me if I start red.

facepalms No, that isn't why they are changing it but its nice that you think so.

Why are they increasing the base health and spawn time? This doesn't look like a good decision in the slightest.

Something to keep in mind is that you do start with two charges of smite, which can make up for not having a leash.

No, it really doesn't. Smite runs ona 15 second cooldown, and many junglers such as evelyn, end up so very low after clearing the first camp they are extremely vulnerable to be counter jungled to death afterwards. On top of this, the new smite has a 75s cooldown.

Having a second smite is nice for those using chilling smite or challenger's, but generally this causes problems because a leash is mandatory for maintaining the safety of the junglers.

What they should do is attach an xp bonus to machete along with a gold bonus, and that would allow them to adjust the jungle camp exp and prevent level 2 cheese behavior.

Don't forget that Machete and its upgrades will now deal more damage. The less health JG monsters have, the more tanks will suffer from laners taking the JG or others coming in and counterjungling with no risk.

I honestly don't know where Riot is going on with this.

Riot does not want laners poaching jungle creeps. That's why the camps are starting harder and spawning later.

I believe Riot will have to buff tank junglers more to compensate.

Tank junglers do remain uncompetitive, as they have been for some time now.

I think the two smite charges thing is going to be big for early clears though.

machete damage bonus against monsters increased 2 smites when riot increases jungle difficulty AND the base damages that ALL JUNGLERS get, tanks will tend to benefit as it improves their clearing damage much more than other champs.

[Hunter's Machete Upgrades] Reverted back to 45 damage from 60

Jungle

Summoner's Rift [ Looks like most HP / base stat changes reverted. Will need to confirm]
