They played so good and took down IG not once, but twice in a row in that tie-breaker! Please take note NA on how to make your 1st seed look good...

Idk about that i dont think seeding matters as much as people think. For example no matter what seed they get c9 ALWAYS out preforms other na teams at worlds its been that way for years no matter how much hype teams like tsm and tl or immortals or clg come in with. The same is true for eu. G2 always get expected to do extrreamly well and either get knocked out of scrape by just barely. Fnatic is the eu c9. Theyre always there and no matter which seed they are they usually may not be as flashy as some other players but they have more consistancy than any other eu team when the heat is on you can count on fnatic to preform. G2 while winning some of their wins just look sad. Like that game against phong was just hard to watch. They should have lost but it was like a bronze 5 game where you watch one team just fail over and over and lose at the last minute despite being ahead all game. Imo the only regions where seeding seems to actually matter is china.

I feel like certain teams in NA just focus too hard to win regionally and then burn out when Worlds comes. Maybe there's a financial reason for that (local championship being more profitable than making it to quarters in worlds? Idk if this is true) but these top NA teams don't seem to prepare enough for Worlds.

Imo i think it comes down to mentality. C9 has a looser atmosphere and gives there players a longer leash like letting sneaky do his wierd stuff. Like how they let sven be himself instead of just being told to camp some star mid laner and suddenly sven dosnt look like garbage. C9 in general just have a more team like atmosphere. There was an interview with sneaky when they asked about the loss to geng and he said they realized they just where not fighting enough and played into gen gs hands. So then they just decided to pick fights and go for it. By forcing them out of their controlled comfort zone they put it more their style and it paid off. Other teams try to micro manage their players way more and it kinda strangles individual tallent. Like putting bjerg on utility when everyone wants to see him on playmakers. Meta dosnt matter if youre not good at it most of the time sticking to what youre good at gives better results than going with the flavor of the month and c9 gets that. Also dosnt hurt that c9 tries out new tallents instead of just using only old established players.

I agree but as you saw earlier in the summer split though, they do know when to draw the line, obviously they want a laid back atmosphere but they don't want a nonchalant attitude when it comes to work ethic and professional play, because there is always a hungry player that wants that spot you hold and will try to take it no matter how talented you are.

I got respect for Fnatic and the way they played... I don't think they win against any of the 2 seeds that they play, though.

Naw. They just have to play similar to how they played tonight. EDG is not on the same level as IG. Fnatic played on the same level as IG so they should have no problem staying on par or better than EDG.

I do believe they got the easiest of the number 2 seeds... well... IG is pretty easy, too... I think Fnatic might be able to pull it off.

how is ig easy they have 18-1 in lpl and only lost to rng in finals (5 games btw)

The funny thing is i put ig in last in my pickums because i dont watch lpl or china. Sadly the rest of my pickums where perfect so i woulda had a perfect score if i knew how good they actually where.

That is incredibly unlikely considering g2 struggled against a taiwan team that couldn't close out a game with a massive lead. They struggled in one of the easiest groups and rng are currently the tournament favorites to win the whole thing considering they have the best bot lane in the world. Did you see jayce on phong die from walking around in circlea instead of using the 1 to 2 autos for base tower? Absolute garbage team and g2 struggled against that it was like watching a silver 4 vs bronze 2 match. Unless g2 seariously step it up they're goung to get absolutely crushed

G2 is the true wildcard team. You can never be sure how they will perform. At their best they will be able to match RNG pretty evenly. At their worst they will not even get a single tower against RNG.

Personally i feel that RNG will win the series 3-0 or 3-1

I agree i would live for g2 to win personally. The more western teams in contention the better. On my pickums i put a c9 fnatic semi and a c9 rmg final. G2 are not a bad team they potential but i think 3 to 1 or mabye 2 if theyre luck. Rng are just way better

There are two possible outcomes. RNG bans heimer and wins 3-0. RNG doesn't ban heimer and still probably wins, but 3-2.

IG pretty easy? Please, IG almost beat RNG in the LPL finals, if it wasn't for their game 5 throw. The gap between RNG and IG is smaller than between IG and EDG.

FNatic is unquestionably the best team a Western region has ever produced. C9 has the potential as well, if they can tone down a few of the mistakes. I am THOROUGHLY looking forward to the, slight though it is, possibility both make it through to Semis. It'll be great to see a Western team at the finals if that happens, whichever it is.

Fnatic probably gonna take second, if they meet up with RNG in the finals, if RNG can potentially beat KT Rolster, which i believe they can. not once has fnatic been able to beat RNG

That's for sure. If we're looking at the NA first seeds though, I mean it seems like we just keep sending teams with confidence issues in high pressure situations. Our first seeds for basically the entirety of the current worlds format have been teams with Bjergsen and/or Doublelift on them, players who seem to consistently have confidence issues at worlds where it really matters, and none in the LCS, where the stakes are a lot lower and losses are more forgiving.

I mean think about it, the worlds where the first, second, AND third seeds did well was in S4, it was when we sent teams that had players willing to go balls to the wall no matter who the opponents were.

Wildturtle was on TSM that year, he's a player who is aggressive often to a fault, punching above his weight class even when it gets him murdered. Amazing was also on that team, he'll probably still argue that TSM was a top 3 team at worlds that year and that they should have won.

Cloud 9 had kept their S3 roster so they still had Hai in the midlane, no one would ever accuse Hai of not being confident.

LMQ was that all Chinese roster with really aggressive players.

TSM made it out. Cloud 9 played a tiebreaker for first. LMQ came close to getting out and gave a respectable performance.

These teams built around Doublelift and Bjergsen will continue to disappoint because they've tasted defeat in the same way too many times. They don't think they can win. They hope for an easy draw in the group stage and when they're in it hope every game goes just right so that they can squeak their way out of groups as a second seed.

Team Liquid did not believe for a second they could beat KT, they might say otherwise but it was obvious in their play. They were praying to whatever gods they believe in that EDG lost both games to KT, and even if they had, there was no way they were winning that game against EDG with the pressure on.
