I'll be honest I never understood the boards whining about tanks dying too fast.

Seriously the only time I'd ever seen this situation happen is late game team fights where they get focused on by like 3-5 people and killed after everyone has their pen items and such. But early-mid game all I ever saw was these guys taking very little damage and using their decent base damages to take down squishies. ADCS in particular not being able to afford the sustain or the armor pen items they need that early. But the moment they started to purchase these items their roles reversed. Really it all just felt like tank players lying through their teeth and basing all their arguments off of late game team fights.

basically in the olden days shen vs rammus no1 won, literally after 60seconds people would rez and come back while the 2 were still autoing eachother after the fight was over.

now tanks routinely dish out more damage while also taking more damage. its a double edged sword.

back in my day a sejuani would stand there, and gradually lose hp, whatever it wasnt a big deal, she would get out and rejoin with the rest of her team, (but the only damage she was dealing in return was with sunfire basically, she was basically used to apply CC) she didn't die in 7seconds to an ADC like they do in todays day and age.

sure she could dive onto the enemy adc, but she wouldn't win, and the adc knew that. the adc wasn't afraid if they saw a lone tank.

this is largely due the ADC rework which made ADCs abilities strong and usable outside of gap closers.

and ofc, riot decided everyone needs to be able to 1v1 and gave everyone free tons of damages in the mastery update and item updates over the years.

(lifesteal used to be a lot stronger)
