Every time a champ comes out the community goes ape

OMG hes so op, why riot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or wow, that new champ is so useless

Ekko isn't that strong, hes probably a bit overtuned on his numbers, but give me a break guys. Every time a champ comes out you don't have to act like its the first champ release you have ever seen.

RekSai wasn't that strong on her release, she was just a bit overtuned on her winrate.

We all laugh at that now, but people were actually defending release Rak'sai. Just like people were saying that Release Bard was balanced. Of course the community goes ape when the champion balance is ape.

90% of the frustration is not knowing what the enemy does, but it insta killing you out of nowhere. The amount of stuff in that kit is crazy. Slow slow slow stun big shield.... ekko is low on hp and running from me! :D whats that ghostie thing? oh over half my hp is gone and ekko is healed and now im dead.

I just played a game as jungle shen and whenever the enemy jungle ekko was running away i stayed NOT ON HIM but on his ghost and let leona, our ekko, and vayne chase him. The moment ekko ulted to "juke" he was taunted then perma leona cc'ed :D

He is really predictable and there is a lot of lee way in his burst and kit in general.

Agreed, Ekko is a strong champ for sure, But not by any means game breaking.

Ever time I've played him I've had a huge bulls-eye on me! Usually getting hit with 3 -5 seconds of CC and dying with no chance to ult. :P

Every champ is OP or UP on release, the PBE is NOT enough to balance things out.

Wait until the free week then Riot will know what to do with that champ. Personally I think he is overtuned number wise, but his kit is pretty easy to counter. Mostly skillshots and prediction game.

It's mostly just a vocal minority who complains immediately. The rest are content to wait for a patch to gather more information before making their judgement.

The problem is that Riot releases champions before they are ready. If they spent more time fine tuning and balancing them, there wouldn't be such a big response.

The only champ i really thought was gamebreaking on release was darius. That ult was hilarious on release.

Funny thing the LCS continues to Use (and abuse) this champ despite the continued nerfs. It might make sense for the LCS stage, but they do sometimes ruin champs for the rest of us. I just hope he doesn't get Yasuo'ed by the next string of nerfs.

considering that I only have a few IP to work with, I'll basically have to do this before determining Ekko's power level. I also recalled concerning Braums release that his OPness was joked at as training wheels, while players learn his kit. This may be true, but also consider that Riot should look at how people play him before trying to shape is numbers, and in turn his play style.

Problem is they can't fine-tune balance on the PBE. There just aren't enough games being played, and PBE players may not be an accurate cross-section of the rest of the game. They might think it's fine, and in PBE games it might be fine barring the usual 'complain about everything' sorts. But then it hits Live and, well, this happens.

Hah, you should have seen PBE. 9000+ queue position and a 7 hour wait time just to play one champion you probably weren't even going to get in normals was insane, believe me.

You can say that, but Ekko feels less balanced than most (and saying he fits in with other recent releases Bard Kalista isn't exactly a ringing endorsement). It's the combination of assassin kill potential+safety with zone denial and CC. Most assassins sacrifice teamfight presence for raw killing power, while Ekko excels at both. That and the laundry list of tacked on slows/shields/heals and it's not a stretch to see why people dislike playing against him.
