Daily reminder that being carried is an actual skill.
You'd be surprised how many people can't do this.

It's actually true: some people are incapable of being carried.
It's actually true: overwhelming majority of people are incapable of being carried.
fixed it for u
If I'm behind, I should try to pick up kills to try to get back into the game, right?
naw u get
and team will agree u r useful even if u r 0/99/0 jking u farm up
no you get
atm on every tank champ and you are usefull even 0-10
And
and
so you can at least split push without doing anything.
Nearly every game has a Mumen Rider.
He knows he can't win, but he has to solo that fed Marksmen anyway.
This game needs more Genos.
Genos is always feeding though

This game needs more Genos.
But Genos is just a serial fee-oh wait
Being a Support Main, in nearly every team/party/roleplaying game I've every played, I think I've had this skill mastered, for some time now.
[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
Preach it brother!
inb4 "support mains get carried every game" Okay, but whose utility helped them to carry?
EXACTLY, was going an off-build on Janna and my team was flaming me cause we we're losing. I tell them that I have a very VERY high winrate with this build and it's actually higher than my normal support build. They say that I got carried those games... like what the hell OF COURSE I GOT CARRIED! I'm not killing anyone as Janna any time soon...
I kill people with Janna, just not 1v1 :P
I've actually soloed people as Janna before, everyone underestimates how much damage her W does...
sheild yourself, w QQ and its not impossible, I just refuse to roam alone as Janna. Too squishy without enough damage to maintain yourself if you have anyone surprise attack you.
It's a skill I wish everyone had. When someone on your team is fed while you're doing bad the best possible thing for you to do is farm up, play safe, and let them carry you to victory. If all goes well you'll still be useful when it reaches late game. Last game I got my ass handed to me in lane but after dying twice I just farmed at tower and waited for my fed Evelynn to gank. Easy win for us because the enemy laner was not able to get fed and carry, and because i could CS better I even managed to catch up on gold and then win lane after 2 ganks from my Eve.
Play safe guys, farm up. You don't need to be the hero.
This perfectly explains a lot of my response to a particular complaint I had in a ranked a few days back, even if I couldn't be arsed to voice it.
"Mid useless." "How do you even win any games?" "Worse than our Support Teemo" "Can't do anything" "Anivia's roamed 10 times already" Our Vi Jungle
"Its because I don't feed. I went even in lane. Just because our Support Teemo managed to make our bot lose lane so hard that despite the support janna roaming mid to 3 man gank me with the jungler, the bot still goes 0-3 before lvl 6. Creating such a disastrous dysfunction in power that despite Anivia getting her self pincered at our blue I'm basically 1v1ing her.
I win my games because my worst is barely-worse-than-even, and that's when Jungle is hyper pressuring my lane. I don't go 0-4 by 15 minutes like every other top laner. I don't tilt and dive 1v5 into the enemy team in some bloodlust attempt to kill, like you. Do not blame me for us losing this game when we're 18 minutes in, I haven't died once, and y'all've died a collective 15+ times."
Also, FYI, none of those Vi statements are true, she's just doing the thing most tilters do where they get mad and try to negatively cons true every possible thing based on the weakest evidence (Ex: Sees you miss a single skillshot in the early game "Omg, trash, haven't seen you land a single skillshot").
A large percentage of my games are like this. Im just minding my own business while I see our bot lane dying over and over or maybe our jungle keeps trying to invade or 1v3 or something (or like you said, you get flamed for doing nothing and trying not to accelerate the process by dying 10 times over). And here I am, in my lane farming. Maybe I died once earlier to a gank, maybe I have a kill or 2. I have farmed well or at least to a point where I haven't fallen behind. I never, or rarely win these kinds of games. Its the horrible situation where most the time I feel like I need to do everything but I can't. Its basically that helpless feeling when youre jungling and you gank a lane then the other 2 lanes die themselves.
At this point I am lost on how to win a ranked game.
To be honest here, I find myself way too often in this situation. As a jungler placed a bit too low for his elo, I actually come out of the laining phase with a big lead.
Even if I try as hard as I can to carry, I can't win every game. Even if I delete one of their carries and drag their backline attention onto me, the rest of my team still feels the urge to line up to be blasted away by the enemy lux.
People like you, that manage to keep their lane even AND be useful later, I love you. But chances are that I won't gank you at all. Why? Because in the elo I'm in, I MUST constantly babysit some laner of questionable skill, at the expenses of my own farm. If the bot dies at lvl 2, they won't play safe and wait for my gank; in my experience, they'll give another double in max 5 minutes.
I'm more than happy for that. I play hard-to-gank champions, so part of my strategy is being a black hole for the enemy jungle's time and effort. Long as the jungler accomplishes something in that time, and doesn't say, die for free, I'll trade a rougher lane for a snowballing jungler every time. Which is a problem now that ranked MMR's reset and I've fell back into mid-high gold ELO, but I can work through it.
I mean, counterganks on the other hand, are sick. Or even whenthe enemy laner plays aggro enough to be a free kill.
Couldn't agree more, there are people who literally refuse to get carried. I am talking about the classic Riven """"""""""""""main"""""""""" toplane that goes 0/7 in 10 minutes and starts calling FF and reports everywhere. Meanwhile our jungler won mid/bot and destroyed enemy jungler. Meanwhile bot took down a second tier turret. Meanwhile mid oneshots on sight.
But hey i lost my lane so i guess the game is lost too right?
Shout out to the newly lvl 30 garen who waited patiently under his tower and rushed a spirit visage while swain was dicking him while i snowballed all other lanes.
Should we also throw in "not take kills", too?
Because to a lot of people it's very hard to pull off, and then they begin to wonder why their carries "do no damage".
dont know why u got downvoted cuz it's partially true.
It's part of "damage calculation" n therefore actually takes skill which im horrible at
There is NO issue with going " My top laner is abs dominating im just gna farm make damn SURE i dont feed and just push" You dont have to be the hero. Let sht be what it is.
You'd be surprised how many people can't do this.
10000% true.
Some people cannot play safe regardless. But you can guess the age group easily when this happens.
am i the only one getting mad when i get a free win when i do not deserve it cuz i played bad or some other shiet .. i prefer to win knowing that im doing good not just winning cuz i got lucky to be playing with better players than me
Unless you didn't play any part towards winning (warding, poking, some help in teamfightd and not going on to troll) then there is no reason to be mad. You still played a part, even if you allowed other members to carry (playing support can make you get used to this ^^)
is it just me or do supports always bitch the most out of everyone nearly all the time? I want to say it's salty autofill players like me that do this (I personally don't) but the support player bitching everyone out has been a recurring theme since before autofill at least in my experience.
its because if youre a support, you're more reliant on your team being decent to carry a game
if your team is really stupid and bad, theres very little you can do
Supports bitch less then they get bitched at by everyone on the team. Supps get flamed almost as much as a jungle player on a team that is getting crushed. But a jung can change the game, while it is the supps job to fed the ADC with little to no reward. Whch is whey I stopped playing supp because ADCs are the whiniest %%%%s in the game. Get them fed to like 4-0 the you accidentally KS or even take a kill that they wouldn't be able to get and OMG will they flip out.
A lot of players also just don't understand how to build and adapt their playstyle to the current game's events.
I've seen so many ADCs for example that continue to die instantly in fights to a fed enemy assassin, their team already does a lot of damage (and fights are close by the end), yet their next buy for their 3rd item is a Zeal. At this point literally all you need to do is buy an armor item like Deadman's plate, and it's GG
Don't go deadmans third item as an ADC, you generally need to exponentially ramp up your damage, and using a whole item slot is too much an investment.
Y'got boots for this sh*t. 800 GP investment, you want t2 boots anyway, and the 35% AS from Zerkers isn't even that great.
Agree but I mean situationally, not as a build. If you're consistently being blown up by a fed enemy's combo, buying more damage adds very little value to changing the outcome of the next fight. You'll still die quickly again. Again, situational, but It's way better to buy a tankier item and get 7 auto attacks off in a fight than 2 or 3. That will change fights more than extra damage
It can be good sometimes but yeah, it's situational. Depending on the champ
building tanky when you're losing just permanently relegates you to siege minion tier, whereas building damage can often allow you to come back from a bad start.
If I had a dollar for every time I fed as Tryndamere, then immediately had 300cs and an inhib the second the enemy decided to roam, well... I'd probably have demonblade, at least.
I get that the entire thread is about the bad side of this mindset, but I don't think we should dismiss it completely. Shutdown gold is a big deal. It's a calculated risk to build damage and go for the comeback but it can pay off big time. I've had a few games (ironically last one was against
) where I lost the early game then got a cheeky shutdown and started trashing him.
Building tank when you're losing guarantees the best you can do this game is not feed. Sometimes that's not the smartest choice.
Edit: As an example of what I'm talking about, that Trynd game I was playing Darius and the lane went bad because I fucked up an early all-in, but on even footing that's a winning matchup so it worked out when I caught up with him. If it were something like Jayce or Kennen, then I'd probably go full tank and try not to die. If you win an even matchup then don't be too scared of trying to catch up. If you got hard countered that's when you get your lube and try not to feed too hard.
Just because there are a lot of idiots who can't do it, that doesn't mean it's a skill. It just means there are lots of idiots who can't do it.
So it's a skill because it's something to be learned and mastered...otherwise anyone could do it...

You literally described a skill. If someone can't do something and someone else can that is a skill. You seem to believe it takes a low level of skill, but it is skill none the less.
My depression is a skill
Everybody wants to be the 1v5 solo hypercarry to rise through the ranks on their own willpower. Sometimes this wins them games and they carry. A lot of times they don't get fed or even start losing lane, and just have absolutely zero trust in their team, so they continually throw themselves at the enemy team in a futile attempt to get fed, causing their team to lose the game.
Basically either they win the game for their team, or they lose the game for their team, but they refuse to get carried. It's so aggravating. Not to stereotype but it's mostly Yasuos and Vaynes from my experience, which just adds even more hate to them and makes me groan when my team hovers them.
tbh, I just hate when my team hovers any ad mid, or any squishy top laner. its so much easier to win when your comp isn't trash and those are the hardest picks to work around
The feel when you have Warwick mid, Xin Zhao jungle, and Camille top. I tried to go Tank Karma support so we had semi-tankiness and AP damage and still have shields.
Somehow, we had zero damage though
Most people, not everyone. There are a rare few like me who would rather be the person keeping that hyper-carry alive (whether they want to admit it or not). I don't care how many kills I get, I don't even often care that I die. I care that we win, not how, not who carries us, just that we win.
