Between Red and Blue forms, what do I build to maximize each form's role? op gg isn't really giving me much for specific forms.

Good runes for each?

Macro for each role?

But really though. With red Kayn it’s good to go warrior (blue smite), black cleaver. Third item is situational(heavy ad team) guardian angel, (heavy ap or strong ap) spirit visage. I would definitely suggest getting both because you’ll be unkillable but look at what you’re up against to make the decision which one first. Deaths dance is a good next item because again you’ll never die.

Runes conqueror, triumph, (heavy cc team) tenacity if not alacrity, and coupe de grace. Then secondary your choice but I usually go taste of blood and ravenous hunter for more healing. Attack speed minor rune for jg clear, adaptive damage and armor again for jg survivability.

I'd also reccomend getting Hextech with DD for even more sustainability + the slow. With Conq, DD, Hextech, SV and Ravenous you'll be healing for like 90% of your damage dealt in Red form and almost 30% Blue form, not that you should go SV in blue form.

So, for blue you want to go for a lethality based build, but for the red form you'll be going bruiser, so things like visage, black cleaver, dead man's, steraks, things like that. Overall though, I personally wouldn't recommend Kayn. It takes way too long for him to get going, his early game is quite exploitable, and while his kit is fascinating it can feel pretty underwhelming at times despite all the buffs he's received.

I would say Kayn is good in low elo since you'll actually have time to reach your power spikes. Not to mention people usually won't know how to abuse your weak early game. In high elo however, it's an entirely differently story.

He is good right now in all elos.

He’s entirely dependent on the enemy junglers pick.

For those 8-9 minutes he’s by default the weakest champion on the map and can’t really contest any of his camps without help.

It is if you are too far ahead and u wanna troll the squishies by oneshotting with a single auto (with a w if needed). Not recommended in high elo but since I am a hardstuck silver I do it [slayer-jinx-catface]

No. How it works is You use your combo W>Q>Duskblade auto Then you ultimate inside of them. Using your ultimate resets your passive and the bonus damage passive on duskblade letting you do it again.

I've seen some streamers run IE and Shiv on him in addition to Duskblade. Is this just a meme thing or is it like a super leet high elo thing?

Pretty sure it’s just a meme thing.

Sure you’ll get more damage 50% of the time, but that’s a risk I don’t think I wanna take.

You don’t really need more damage past the lethality build.

SS IE is mostly when you are fed, it has insane damage potential as his passive amps the crit and shive proc aswell, but it's expensive, not to reliable cause rng and squishy.

What i find supprisingly strong is Trinity if ahead, cause the spellblade proc also gets amped by his passive and you can easily get 2 of them in one combo, the extra AS makes it easier to weave AAs in your rotation and the over all stats are quite usefull.

Also for the duskblade+ult thing: The ult puts you 'out of vision', which is why it resets duskblade. However, that only happens if you stay in them for >1sec, so if you spam that R and imidiatly get out again, you won't get the reset on duskblade.
