Tired of this meta where I blow up before I can react
title. Change things Riot.
title. Change things Riot.
There are idiots that will openly say, without irony, that this meta is a good thing. Nevermind the fact that League's foundation was built on something entirely different. Nevermind that the vast majority of people playing started during a time when things weren't so halfassed.
No, the minority likes it and the majority can only barely tolerate it. So apparently it's going to stay. The balance team is so shit.
Are you implying that the Boards and Reddit isn't a minority?
Not that I like the current meta, but I feel like your last statement is kinda misleading.
Not to mention, metas cycle around. I joined in season 3, and saw league of cleavers, then an assassin meta, then the siege meta, then a tank meta, then an adc meta, then a mage meta, and back to damage/assassin meta. I'd argue that it isn't the meta being bad, but that people don't like to change.
There has quite literally never been an ADC meta.
Not really one to comment on these type of discussions, but no ADC meta? Either you don't remember or you didn't play when an IE+Stattik Shiv+ Rapid Firecannon Vayne would ult, then Q, and crit you for 70% of your hp.
That wasn't an ADC meta. That was a Vayne being able to abuse crit meta.
The closest to an ADC meta we've had was Ardent meta, and that wasn't the ADC being busted, but the item used on them.
Edit: Vayne Q crit abuse was the same as Caitlyn passive crit abuse. It wasn't meta defining, just overpowered.
either you didn't play at the time, or forgot, But i think sometime around runes reforged (think before, but not sure) there was a time when there were literally 5 adc vs 5 adc games. it was fun at first but quickly got annoying.
Yeah, pretty sure that meta never existed

yeah that was never a thing.
Agree a little bit here. However in all those metas. Never been one where you go from 100 to 0 in under 0.4s. What is the sadest about this is that in all those seasons. It have just gotten worse dmg wise. No more of those nail biting +75m games :(
Its slowly getting better. It is already better than 2 months ago. Next patch Cinderhulk buff + Resolve Buffs = tanks more viable = more tanks in your games = more DMG soaked away from you. Little steps but in the right direction.

realistically it hs one of 2 effects 1 it actually brings tanks back into the jungle or 2 sejuani just gets better and other tanks just cant keep up with her.
The issue is that this cinderhulk buff isn't what tank junglers need. The tanks who are alrdy viable clear just fine, this will be minimal impact to them. The rest are weak because their dmg is too low compared to everyone else (cos dmg is everything now). Sej/nunu will remain the best tanks in the jg Tanks have lost over 1400 HP in items. (+armor/mr) They need beef, allot of it
Tanks just need to be allowed to exist in the late game. As it stands, they dont exist early, mid, or late game because of the obsessive ease of access pen in the game. Void is cheap as all hell, LW got buffed, % pen goes before leth, so leth will hurt tanks, and it just goes on and on. People who cry "Tanks made the tank meta" and "Tanks are still viable today", tell me this: How truly durable are these "tanks" you speak of? Because if they cant soak damage for more than a second, then there's something wrong. Also on the tank meta shit, tanks didn't create it. In fact, it was ADCs that created the tank meta because they could do every other classes job except tanks, so you played protect the ADC comps to fully utilize the thing that was ADC powercreep. Feel like that detail gets left out because bruisers/fighters and mages were hella salty during that time, so the truth over time got spun around and warped over and over.
Currently playing a lot of Rammus in diamond and I've no idea what you are talking about. Tanks a not made to 1V5 and survive forever. A tank is not supposed to take fight without backup. If you believe that tanks are useless early - mid you are playing it wrong. I would agree that in late game it tends to get more delicate since some ADC chop you like butter.
Thats Rammus. Any other tank who lacks a massive defensive steroid like that can't do anything in this meta. I'm not even asking to be 1v5 and live forever, I want to be an actual frontline instead of this instagimp dead in a second champ regardless if its early or late. Tanks cant even lane anymore without a fighter or bruiser chunking them to 20% with one combo with little to no items. They should beat us extended, but they dont even have to do extended to win, they just blow everything and we die in seconds if we dont have stuff like Rammus does.
Tanks cant even lane anymore without a fighter or bruiser chunking them to 20% with one combo with little to no items
That is another topic, bruisers are currently overpowered in lane, jax / riven being some of the worse imo.
The best way to be an efficient frontlane is to work with your team to take ADC's out of the fights as soon as possible, then you can peel for your team.
Tanks have a better engage than bruiser usually, that's where their strengh is
Sure, there's a few nerfs in the patch, but also
More damage
Less CD = more damage
More damage
Less CD = more damage
Less CD = more damage
Less CD = more damage
Also they didn't buff the health on cinderhulk, they buffed the damage
yeah but only against Monsters. = faster clearing = faster lvl up and money = more Items = more viable/sustain
As I see it, I have to build defensive items on everyone (mages, basically) to not get one-shot, and by doing that, I don't deal much damage. So I'm basically just spell-casting instead of basic attacking.
Next patch Cinderhulk buff + Resolve Buffs = tanks more viable = more tanks in your games = more DMG soaked away from you.
I see what you did there.

Well, yes, but is that really what we want in the long term?

"Yes, a tank, good! No, you, with your enchanter support mage, out! /all report Soraka for playing Soraka in this meta."
I'm all game for less damage in this game, but as with everything: It's not to be overdone.
Riot answer: "Go to fck yourself and buy our new cat/dog chroma packs. We have chinese market and esport which generate more $$$$ than west."
What pisses me the most that champions who were not designed to oneshot nowadays oneshot you even without finished core items.
Also Riot: We only care about the Asian market and they like 5m games so fuk u
I like playing inmobile ADCs on this meta.
Unironically.
They are the best champs to play. I love nothing more then reaching late game with Twitch, kog'Maw, or Jinx and shooting things so fast. It is a thrill.
mmmm point and click assasins mmmm
React faster.

@OP we all are, that's why so many have left the game.
@Guy I quoted, as the death stats say, some kills are faster than human reflexes, particularly from assassins. As someone that plays Eve, if I also charm them, it's rare for someone to survive long enough for the charm to expire. (it lasts 1 second at lvl 1) It's a problem.

The reaction time required to properly play League in this state is impossible for all but a very small set of humans.
In a perfect environment in which all you have to do is click spacebar, human reaction times are typically .24-.27 seconds for visual stimuli, down to around .17 for auditory stimuli.
Even for auditory queues might help, but LoL is heavily focused on visual stimuli to do anything, so let's say .25s average reaction time +.05s for ping... A League of Legends player have to be able to react to things w/in .3s or they're SoL.
If this was just about pressing one button, this would be a simple matter for most people, but when you add in all the other things you have to pay attention to in League + having to aim and press different buttons, it just becomes ludicrous to expect anyone but maybe the top 3% of humans w/ decent computers to be able to properly play the game.

me, reacting faster than this 50/0 veigar : flashes the E, Q his face, aims the W to bump him veigar : presses R
to be fair, if veigar already is 50/0, you(your team) certainly reacted to slow...
Ah beacause the game should be balanced around a 50/0 Veigar not one shotting it seems

did you try denying op's claim? Because you just proved it
I'm just saying that your comment is an absurd exaggeration that doesn't make sense and only pushes the meme status that the Gameplay Boards have.
of course it's an exageration, it's called an hyperbole I could have said "imagine if my team hard fed a ww and a pantheon; ww flash R on me, making me stunned and dealing heavy damages. Pantheon then W and Q me; I'm dead and no reaction time could have saved me" but it's longer
I got some screenshots were I took ~2000 damage in 0,80 seconds (or 800 ms). A ping of ~80 ms taken into consideration, that gives me about 700 ms of reaction time before that information is relayed to me. Or 600 ms to receive and respond, excluding the time it takes to process what is happening.
Given a few tests I've done, I have a reaction time of roughly 350 ms (related to driving a car) in an alert state. Subtract that from the 600 ms I have to react, and I have 250 ms to avoid dying, 100-0 % HP.
Practically speaking, and in layman's terms: I can't do jack shit in that time!
Also, at level 23, I presume you know all about this. Not your main account? Well, that's too bad.

its not only about time but many times there is nothing you can do
its not only about time but many times there is nothing you can do
Which is essentially the same thing, isn't it. ^^
That's what "jack shit" means - nothing at all. Of course, I can't do anything at all only some of the time - the rest of the time, I have time to do something, though not necessarily surviving it.
And in the last cases, where I can do something, I may survive.
[slayer-jinx-wink]
Starting to confuse myself now.

depends, outcome is same but outside you cant even react scenario next most likely scenario is your reaction time is irrelevant bacause moment rengar point click jump on you there is nothing you can do even if his jump animation will be 2 times longer, there is just nothing to react. And even after everything fail some wild red lightning or napalm grenade make sure you are dead anyway.
Take 80ms off that 250ms you had left, to take into account any actions you take making it back to the server.
I had already taken that into account: "that gives me about 700 ms of reaction time before that information is relayed to me. Or 600 ms to receive and respond". :)

React faster.
Some thug fires a gun at you and injured you before you can react.
Me: react faster.
That only means you have to get the thug before he gets you. So if that doesn't happen...blame the jungler?
Luckily, according to Jeremy Clarkson, thugs are really easy to identify - they're all wearing uniforms.

Well that escalated quickly.... That's how mafia works i guess?
No, no, I can relate to this - I was ganged up on by 4 thugs today, and all were wearing uniforms. They gave me a ticket for speeding.
Actually, they were a bit like mafia. "It's not our problem", they said, that I couldn't pay right there. Though no baseball bats to the knees were involved like the mafia would, and we all behaved like civilized, reasonable people.
But I did the honourable thing, and did NOT blame the jungler in all-chat.
Of course, I did not think nice things about them afterwards (they were the enemy team after all), but hey, that's allowed, right.

Thank you.
Though it seems my effort at humourous phrasing fell on deaf ears (or blind eyes), given the votes.

I'm gonna lie...this is kind of triggering...
And I can't even upvote on this account...
Presumably, that was supposed to be "I'm NOT gonna lie.." ^^

God fuckin damn it with the damn typo....this is like the 6th time today...
Yeah it was supposed to be "I'm not gonna lie"...
It's fine, my good sir. :)
In fact, I found it amusing as I didn't catch it until after the 4th read (...yeah, I consider myself overly picky when it comes to grammar). Mostly because I do that very same mistake myself more often than I'd like.
So, eh, blame it on the auto-correct, right? xD

Man...I have this big OCD shit that before i post something on my Instagram stories (or insta snapchat, idl what it's called), i tend to write it on my notes on my phone and read like multiple times to make sure it's all set or if i want to edit something before my final decision.
Yeah, blame the auto-correct. Useful if there is a word you don't know how to spell it, but overly-useful when it replaces a word into another even if the word is in correct spelling. Phone logic 101 everybody...
