Is Aatrox playable?
I need a chest and out of the champs I own, Aatrox is the only one who I haven't gotten a chest on yet. So do I play him or just wait for the season to refresh? [sg-lux-2]

He has a super high winrate in the Asian servers....
Do I become Asian then to play him? [galio-happy]
Only if you are willing to put in much more effort than it takes to play Warwick with, if you're ahead, a slightly lower than Warwick-level pay out.
Nah too skilled for me. [sg-ahri-3]
he is not currently disabled in any active game mode.
Hes playable and can be very good once you get experience with him, and he is a good champion to play safe against poke if you were forced to since your sustain is really good. All the changes they did to him were mostly good for him, the only bad thing they changed on him from his mini "rework" was when they put his
passive forced into stacking for it and timing out quickly.
I find top lane in 1v1 situations very strong for him, but the problem with Aatrox is that he is way to easy to counter. With his E now doing Physical Damage when it used to do Magic Damage, armor is even more stronger against him. Then there is grievous wounds which counter the only real advantage Aatrox has over most champions. So people could just buy
and then Aatrox wouldn't be able to fight them anymore. Also as I mentioned with his GA Passive, a lot of his fighting power has been moved to his passive which requires you to stack up but when you do stack it up, people just back off for 2-3 seconds until you time out and then fight you when its over.
He doesn't really have that sticking power to force people to fight him when he goes into that state. He also isn't very strong at team fights, unless you can find an opportunity to dash into them when they're grouped up to get the maximum use of the fury gain from his ultimate because without that, you won't survive long enough in a fight to fully stack your passive.
So basically tldr: he can be played, he has some uses and can be good in the right hands in Top and some times Jungle but he is to easy to counter, and he doesn't really feel useful in team fights unless you have a lucky engage. He can be strong in the right hands but in the wrong hands he can be very useless which is why he isn't picked much at all, and even when things go right and you do well, it feels like it took more effort then it would of took from other champions.
Which honestly sucks, I really do like his play style and looks. Though honestly, the new runes might make him better, only time will tell for that though.
