In all honesty, I don't think a little girl would be going "HoP sKiP jUmP!" after loosing her sister, killing her father and her mother (Basically she killed her whole family) to her own fire. The trauma would change her from a playful teasing toddler into a more serious character.
I wouldn't mind her having visual update , but I don't see anything wrong with the " hop skip jump " thing , after all , she left that place and now roaming in the forests of Runterra or idk exactly , so of course she got over it and now she wants to play and stuff

Regarding her character, Riot has said the opposite actually - the video supposedly shows the beginning of how Annie became the person we see in-game. I find it kind of hard to believe but w.e.
Technically speaking, she definitely needs a new voice over and model. Even if they keep her tone the same.
The trauma actually changed her from a typical child into a psychopath, I mean her step mother tried to murder her while telling her it was her fault her father and sister died.
It broke her, she associates anyone who tries take tibbers with wanting to kill her at this point and she'll protect him at any cost. Unable to truly face it her mind turned it into a game.
I hope she gets a rework. I keep imagining her as somewhat like Wendy from Don't Starve.
Kassadin got a whole daughter and he STILL haven't gotten any kind of update yet. Annie's lore isn't really "new" so much as it's "improved" remember, she didn't remember killing her parents back then and she definitely doesn't remember it now.
Also, some bit of context for her lore: Ultimate power ultimately corrupts. She's a timebomb of fire magic waiting to explode. I doubt all that power had 0 affect on her mind.
She needs Ezreal VGU, she could use some kit alterations as well, like maybe to her E mainly. New model/effects to fix her outdated skins, effects, and she used to be one of the cuter poster champs for League but now shes forgotten.
I would hope that Annie gets a voice update after, perhaps, a certain character related to her might be added as a new champion?...

I'd rather not have another emo character. I like the sadistic nature that she carries already.
I always saw the "hop skip jump" thing as her trying to remember happier times. You know like when a child goes through something traumatic they sometimes block it out by repeating events, actions, etc that made them happy. That is until something triggers the painful memory (in Annie's case, taking Tibbers). I could be wrong but that's how I see Annie. I do agree though that a visual update would be nice.
She's probably in denial.
Eventually, she'll get one. Problem is, her model is pretty up to date (even though it's not faithful to her story at all) and modern enough. I suppose she's pretty low priority on the list for VUs.
I have always wished she were to have a rework. I think it would be cool if they increased her age to like 10-12 and just updated her. She just looks horrible, she sounds likes she is two and it is just a mess imo
My favorite quote is "Ashes, ashes, they all fall DOWN." I hope they'll keep that cus this one reminds me of Silent Hill^^
