Why would you delete item sets but keep the honor system?

That's kind of like saying "Hey I know you were anxious for that Ultimate Lux skin we teased you guys with for awhile, but we'll have it come around in 6-12 months. Sorry!"

People would have a riot (har har) but seriously, they should implement item sets so people know what to get without wasting 20+ seconds looking for the darn items, especially since ranked season started. It affects my time and I want to spend it in lane / with my team, not browsing the store :/

I wasn't excited for the new lux skin tbh, but I can understand where you are coming from cause I have been waiting for Camille to be released on live servers. I thought she was going to be released in patch 6.24, but I did not notice the small writing, at first, that said she will be released later on in the patch. They are implementing the item sets, but riot said it will likely slip past the beta, meaning creating item sets will be added after the legacy client is no longer available. It took them a while to make the new client and it is far from being complete, so just be patient. It is better if they take their time to give us a good new client rather than rush it and have a crappy new client with loads of bugs. You can still make item sets now, and maybe prepare some in advance, but if you know what items you want you can just search for them in the all items tab. Saves time if you think about what items you want before you back so you can just quickly grab them when you do back. It eventually would become almost second nature. I find myself relying less on my items sets and more on my knowledge of items and match ups so I build according to the match. Maybe there is a new build that is working really well and you want to copy it, have it up on a mobile device to reference from in the mean time until we can once again create item sets in the new client. You can sort through items in the store so it really should not take 20+ seconds to look for an item.

I actually use item sets, if Riot removes them completely I will be one of the people upset by this. It makes my thought process of which item to buy so much easier and makes things (like say support items) easier to find if you have an item set page made for it.

It doesn't even give you the numbers for the spells (not even cooldowns). It's useless.

The honour system would pretty much only requie a button, a few pop-up dialogs and a display be added to the client.

In comparison, item sets would require a full drag-and-drop interface to build and maintain item sets with other options features available.

I am rather hopeful they will add item sets eventually, but I can understand why it is taking a bit longer.

I've been booting up the old client to update my items sets. Its annoying. Last I heard they had no plans on adding item sets to the new client. Not having items sets saved is why people spend 30+ seconds at the fountain after recalling looking for what to buy. I have 5-6 tier item sets plotted for every champ I play so I dont have to think, "hmmm what should I be building in this instance?" I already have that accounted for in my sets.

They will do something about item sets, but they haven't been able to allocate a team to this task yet. Don't have a link but it was in a RIOT post earlier this week about the client update.

They stated re-adding item sets has one of the lowest priorities of all the things related to the new client.

(Nice. Now we can still wonder what those weird looking extra symbols on loading screen splashes are and still get item set creator too!) (On related note: It would be nice to be able to have multiple honor badges at once. Only one of them shows up at once, I think)

Here we go again! another round of bla bla bla riot wtf item sets!?!?.

The honor system is just numbers linked to your account that they could have just thrown anywhere, but with the new client they want everything to be new in design, so they will redesign the items and then readd them. redesigning something that everyone at riot likes and then to code it so its smoother than before takes time, unlike showing numbers on a profile page
