Auto fill is the bane of the game. It was made so the few wouldn't have to wait 5 to 10 mins for a game because there were so few challenger players. So Riot screwed the masses of players to help the few. I personally suggest people start boycotting spending money for anything in league till they remove autofill.
Players will argue you should be able to play all roles, I infact have a much more VALID argument to counter. League of Legends is a Game, a Games purpose is to have fun. It is not fun to be FORCED, under threat of perma ban, to play something you don't want to. To spend 30 mins to an hour of your time doing something you didn't want to. That is not fun for anyone. Riot doesn't even give you an option to select if i can't play this i'd rather not play. They threaten and bully players into it.
2ndly Autofill destorys ranked games, both for the player autofilled and the members of his/her team. Why? because your putting players in a position against similar players of skill that he's not of that skill in. Thus rendering winning or loseing as a Random event. A auto filled bot lane will lose to a one trick bot lane 9 times outta 10. then you have 2 fed people who know every aspect of their champions and combo's together running around the map snowballing the game.
Autofill should enable only after a certain amount of time has already been waited. Or give a pop up that you can get to a match but be autofilled and chose to take it or not.
Or remove the position assigning and make it MMR pick order like it used to be.

Took me weeks to level up this new account cause my mains MMR is wrecked, the first game of ranked at getting auto-filled as support. I'd rather wait a few extra minutes than play an off-role with more chance of losing the game. Riot needs to address this issue, no one likes it so why is it in the game?

Theoretically,autofill actually increases queue time because many players choose to dodge because they didn't get the desired role,or because the autofilled player decides to troll.
Its so 4 fun players can que up for rank faster inting your games not taking it seriously. If the ques took longer they wouldnt bother quing for rank. I believe there should be autofill in norms but not solo duo
They need to just add a "least preferred role" option already. So at the very least if I'm going to autofill I don't have to play a role I'm jack shit at. :(
I am currently lv 10 and it is almost impossible to believe. How Bad Autofill really is.
To be honest, in my last ~10 games werent that great. I got autofilled in 5 out of 6 games.
I did not play 4 of these games. After I made the decision to leave champselect. Once I got my selected role. That game, turned out to be a remake after 3mins. So in the end I always left the champselect, after I tried to switch lanes with someone. In the second game, I requested a laneswap and thanks god, he agreed. Before i leave the champselect, I always ask to swap lanes.
4 Times Support and 1 time AD Carry. The games were within 2 days. I did not skip any matches. So my queue looked likes this. Not including any champselects, where anyone else except me left.
Autofill Sup >Left. Autofill Sup >Left. Next day.... Autofill Sup >Left. Got my Lane >Remake. Autofill ADC >Switched Lanes. Won
My 7 Games lose streak just ended. That was the game i got Autofill ADC >Switched lanes. Won 2 out of 7 games, were remakes. The other games included a lot of Afkers. Ragequitters. Trolls. Not to mention, half the players are smurfs being silver+ or low platin. Can anyone imagine the frustration behind this. Lets not talk about legit beginners playing for the first time, getting hardcore tilted. Eventually quitting league completely.
Sidenote I peaked at Diamond 1 twice in 2 seasons. My current ranking is Plat 3. The other seasons were Gold/Platin, due to me taking a break from league. I did not play every season. I dont type much and flame very little, in those super bad games with 2 afkers. Most of my chat is only me being nice and motivating my team, to win or acknowledging the good movements, throughout the game. Not once did I get banned. Yesterday I recieved a chat restriction, for my bad behavior to one of the obvious Trolls.
There is no joy, to playing this game anymore. It feels bad, combined with the Autofill, on top of that. I cant imagine, how a REAL Beginner, can get past all this. In some of those Normal games, i had to play to reach lv10. REAL Beginners got annihilated, ragequitting or feeding suuuuuper bad.
The reason I started a smurf, was to play with a fresh account reaching high. After I got tilted and ruined my MMR on the main account. I regret, spending a single hour in League. This season is probably the worst, i thought.
i find really really REALLY shit that you and your duo can both be autofilled at the same time and when your autofilled 9/10 your duo will be autofilled aswell.
For me if i get autofilled i can dodge once twice and for the third time ill call it a day and won't play, it's a win win, however it's most devastating when your team is autofilled they don't say anything and proceed to rob your life of everything that's meaningful and pure and lose you a game that would've been not entirely winnable but at least fair.
Then you find out your top and jangle were going their off-roles and main queued for ADC/Support (actually happens) : X
Don't get me wrong, I like being able to queue up and get matched in 0-60s, but would much rather wait 360 seconds and be guaranteed that I'm getting the roles that I actually want/know how to play. (if I get put into jungle 80% chance that the enemy has +4kp on me and is two levels ahead by 15 minutes)
I actually miss pick order of S4, at least i could ask to go supp if i didnt get a main role.
Yeah let people set one role...their PREFERRED ROLE, and wait in a queue. I'd happily wait 3-4 minutes to get what I want. ESPECIALLY considering I have to go through 4-5 dodges between matches because of the autofill system that's supposed to get me in quicker. Seriously, I once went through 7 fucking dodges before I got into a game. At least half of them the autofilled person waited until the last possible fucking second to leave, wasting even more of my time.
The whole autofill system is poorly thought out, implemented, and whoever the fuck though of it needs to be fired. It's not possible for people to get better at what they want if they are forced into doing stupid shit they don't enjoy. It certainly isn't an issue with there not being enough players, and even if it were merging servers would solve the issue.
This coming from a Support main...i'd rather have people on my team that get what they want as opposed to people who are forced into it.

Auto fill is literally the worst part about this game, i dont understand why riot had the bright idea to make people play roles they never play for no reason at all. I actually want anyone to reply to this telling me a reason why auto fill is in the game, who gives a shit if ur queue timer is a minute faster, i want to play my damn role and i dont understand why riot thinks autofilling is gonna help anyone have more fun or have a better game. Auto fill was the worst idea anyone ever came up with so yea fuck auto fill, stupid as shit.
