Not Even As a Computer Science Graduate Can I Understand The Way The Remake System is Programmed

Yesterday: Our Draven bought items, went to the lane, and at the 50th second went DC, never came back. We could not remake.

A 38 minutes long game that we eventually lost. No way to remake, no compensation for the unfair loss.

Today: Our Teemo did not even connect to the game, not even for a second. No items, nothing. We could not remake.

This time, only a 22 minutes long game. Again, no compensation, nothing.

I can not understand how a company worth a few billion dollars that exists for over 10 years has NOTHING to deal with this basic problem that exists right from the very beginning.

I would like to see the way the remake is programmed very much. Like, seriously, how can it not allow the players to remake even when there is a player that:

  • Has no farm;
  • No items;
  • Traversed 0 units;
  • Has 0 damage dealt;
  • Is unable to respond to ping messages

FOR THE WHOLE GAME. Not only it does not allow to remake but gives no compensation whatsoever after the game.

Excuse me, but I am damn sure a highschool student with a few years of experience in programming and an average IQ, would be able to code a better system.

EDIT:

First blood against a player's team before they leave/dc will prevent a /remake vote.

For completeness, this happened in neither of the games. That being said, this remake-preventing condition should be reconsidered anyway.

EDIT 2: My duoQ premade just convinced me to go next one. This is what happened:

Yeah, goodbye LPs.

so it's really simple with one huge flaw (aesthetically). person has to be disconnected for a consecutive 90 seconds within the first 3 minutes. However, the flaw is you can't see a person "trying to actively connect" and as a result /remake doesn't activate. so when someone on a shitty connection or pc is "trying to connect to the game for 3-4 minutes or (longer if they have packet loss) remake doesn't activate and you get screwed.

solution: require movement out of the fountain and the previous condition. if one of the two conditions are not met, /remake is triggered.

fun fact: i literally saw a clip of a guy flashing under enemy tower cause it was 2:55 and his mid was afk. his mid reconnected LITERALLY at 2:59 and they couldnt remake.

yet yesterday my premade reconnected at 1:50 and we could remake.

its random

also the first blood thing isnt true anymore. it was when remake was fresh on pbe. but instantly got removed. and you know why? cause people flashed into the tower and gave the enemys first blood so they couldnt remake lol.

I never really understood the Riot attitude "Lets keep players hostages in a game they don't want to be in, and if they leave lets punish them hard". The surrender vote should be enabled after 5min, and if 4 people vote yes, end the damn game, how frekking had can it be ???? Being in a game with AFK'ers feeders etc etc is not a fun experience. And ya it sucks that a billion company can't code a /remake option that actually works, who in the right mind cares if the player who DC'ed tries to connect 300 million times ? If he or she is not in game by 3min mark, then give the team the option to remake.

Would be great, if remake would check whether someone actually did something. Like did he left the base? Or maybe check if he gains XP.. I would put a combination. Remake becames available, if anyone until 3. min has all of the following things 0:

XP gain damage done damage taken

For Teemo, at least, it seems that first blood had already happened, which disables remake.
