out of all the clips you could have posted to encapsulate why this meta is bad, this isn't one of them

vlad blew everything to kill you when you wasted flash, missed snare and ult, and are playing an extremely squishy champion. vlad had a full item on you to boot. from what i can tell, you are 2/3/3 here while he is 5/1/1. fed.

rakan was even there and he landed his combo on the two of you. you deserved to die. even then, it took nearly 7 seconds for you to die thanks to you and sona's fat shielding. i don't see an issue here.

KÎŢŢΥKÂŢKÂŢÂRÎÑÂ7 votes

He flashed away, he flashed for her. it's like both people wasting it then? ofcourse not Did not miss a single ability. not sona not lux not vlad :) use ball of eye plz to see. vlad had 2 items lux had 1 and a half that's not a big lead or should not be. lux was 2/2/3 and vlad was 3/1/1 after this double lux went 2/3/3 and vlad 5/1/1. Atleast try to make sense.

If you do not see an issue here. then.... may god have mercy on your poor, lost soul.

Eleshakai4 votes

He misused his flash, flashing at a time when the enemy could literally just flash after immediately. He could've instead flashed over into the jungle, or run closer to the wall and flashed closer to Sona.

He walked out past his second turret against a fed vlad who had a rakan with no safety and no support.

He wasted his only peel spell early and missed it completely(light binding)

Yep. I see an issue here, but it's not with the game.

Check the video again and stop trolling ty.

Z3Sleeper2 votes

He did a derp flash in a straight line while being chased by a PREDATOR who also had flash up. He had several options but chose to just flash in a line.

He missed the first Q and didn't immediately back up after, allowing Vlad to Predator in on a Q-less Lux.

And then after both those mistakes, he walks TOWARDS Rakan for the easiest ult -> Q of that Rakan's life.

Bonus mistake: Didn't put E up to slow his pursuers.

Bonus mistake 2: Sona letting Rakan RQ in and THEN ulting him instead of ulting first to stop him in his tracks.

Eleshakai1 votes

Everything I said was EXACTLY what happened.

He flashed in a straight line, in stead of walking to a wall and flashing over it.

He started the video by using his root ability, and hit nothing with it(look ~3 seconds into the video). It later came back up and he hit the enemy with it, but he'd already used his flash AND the enemy was already right on top of him so it had no effect.

He was standing past his destroyed turret(the second turret) with no support near him and within a screen of a predator vlad/rakan combo. Are you blind?

Ok at this point ur trolling dude. Hurr durr misses abilities while being a screen away. vlad catches up then she hits em, both used flash. AND AS A MATTER OF FACT! you are talking about something that is not relevant to the topic of this post.

First of all it does not matter what lux did. Secondly vlad was not fed and was 1200 gold above lux. third of all the point is. vlad oneshot her regardless, you are not allowed to oneshot something while being tanky. do you understand now? If you do not understand that then you are an obvious troll and i wont respond anymore.

You.... Should probably get your senses checked.

You can hear the animations happening for E

You can definitly see the q moving to the up after hitting Vlad

and R was visible

As far as the Sona goes...

While she did end up dying, I saw what she was trying to do.

She used E and W to get power chord up to lower Vlad's damage and shield Lux

However, Rakan charmed her with ult before she could auto so she ended up just running away.

Do you see Rakan with Lux passive over his head? Unless the Lux has runaan's and auto'd one of them(I assume she did auto the Vlad), there's no way it procced, because her ult would add another passive stack, and if she hit the ult on the Rakan with a passive stack she'd do much more damage to the Rakan. Rakan was right on top of her just as Vlad was when everything was going on, so where did the E go off that it hit Vlad and not Rakan? As for the sound you're saying I should have heard, you're probably talking about barrier, as they're very similar sounds to when her E gets thrown out. The only other Lux sound I hear was her W. Regardless, as I said, Lux tried to pick a fight with probably upwards of 1.2k gold in her pocket, because she's practically an entire item behind the Vlad, and Zhonyas would have been perfect for this fight. The Vlad wasn't fed, and had more gold spent than her clearly. What do you expect to happen?

Morello and proto 600 health for what reason again? to survive burst not to have extra health just because. He is building a health/ap tank. you can literally have 400ap ahri with 4k health and having only ap/health items. ITS A THING!

Some AP items need health. Also that 600 health does not make him a tanky. Vlad builds both because he has a passive that completely synergizes with them. Morello also has magic pen. He's going for a full damage build. A Vlad who WASN'T going for a full damage build would have a Spirit Visage second item, because it synergizes with his healing while also giving him a bit of AP and a lot of health/MR. Vlad was building burst, not tanky. And again, the Lux was basically behind in gold because she didn't USE that gold. Vlad was a full item up on her. Also 400 AP on Ahri is not huge. It's less than even mid range AP(500). Full burst is between 700-1000. 400 AP 4000 HP Ahri with only health would still die pretty quickly because she'd only have health, no resistances, and she wouldn't do much damage because she wouldn't have void staff or rabadons. Also you're lying, you can't get a 4k HP Ahri without some HP specific runes because the highest HP Ahri can get out of a full build with boots is 3790 with only AP+HP items(and the AP you get out of that is 444). And this includes RoA, which is a late game purchase vs an early game one, making her suboptimal because the game is currently favored toward getting fed early. She also would do nothing to tanks because no void staff. Vlad capitalizes on HP and AP because AP gives him more health, and health gives him more AP. It's not a huge conversion though, but that explains WHY he would be building health and AP together. The Lux couldn't kill the Vlad because she was an item behind him, no other reason. She was fed, she should have been able to, but she didn't buy her items and instead tried to fight someone while around 1200+ gold in item value less than them. This makes it seem like the Vlad is fed off his ass.

She has no resistances. You can fight a dummy with burst damage and deal up to 4k, and they have 100 armor and MR. Again, Ahri having 4k HP would still die quickly because of BORK/Liandry's/etc. She has no resistances. NONE in a build that gives her 3.7(NOT 4k) HP. There ARE NO BUILDS which give Ahri 4k HP, unless she has Overgrowth or Grasp of the Undying, which no Ahri would use because it wouldn't give her damage, which she needs, because she already has lower damage on the spectrum. 700-800 AP is the highest you can get outside of a tear build, without the AP you get from runes like Celerity/Absolute Focus/Gathering Storm. With a tear build you can get up to 900 AP without those runes. So yes, 400 AP is not a lot, and all mages generally have 500 AP at the least. Needless to say ALL of those numbers are very much higher than 400.

I've built very high HP on Kat before, it doesn't make me unkillable and my damage suffers a lot.

KÎŢŢΥKÂŢKÂŢÂRÎÑÂ1 votes

Oh yes tell me how talon/wukong is gonna burst 3,7k hp. Intrigue me. and btw Ahri is kinda either oneshot if fed or 2 spell rotations if not fed. with 400-500 ap is more than enough to kill anything except tanks with 2 spell rotations.

Resistances do not matter in league right now unless you buy at least 2 dedicated MR items

Eleshakai1 votes

If I am a low-mobility, squishy character and I walk away from safety and THEN also use my only peeling tool while most of my team is far away and visible, of course someone who is stronger than me is going to charge me and wreck me. That's not 'the meta', that's 'making an awful decision and getting punished for it'. The reason why missing that ability matters is because if that ability HADN'T been on cooldown, she could've used it to slow Vlad down or force him to use his flash/pool early. You note that Vlad didn't charge UNTIL he was sure the binding had missed and Lux wasn't bolting. Because Vlad saw a mistake and pounced.

We had a vlad on one side of the lane and a Lux on the other side of the lane. Flashing in a straight line just forces the opposing player ot use their flash to get the kill, flashing across the wall on the OTHER SIDE OF THE LANE from the attacking champ forces him to go out of his way to cut sideways towards the wall so he can flash after me, giving me extra time to get away. Think strategic, don't panic. Lux made a mistake, then panicked and died for it. Again... not the meta.

Vlad didn't one-shot her. Vlad did about a third of her hp with his first cycle, then pooled and Lux took the full damage from that, and then Rakan's damage came in(which is NOT insignificant - his base numbers are fairly decent, especially for the early game) then Vlad ulted and did the remaining damage with his second cycle of spells. If Lux had gotten two full sets of spells off on Vlad and Sona had gotten one, he certainly would've died too. And Vlad wasn't tanky, both of his items were pure damage.

The reality is that it DOES matter what Lux did. Because this is a game of decisions, and if you make a bad decision and your opponent recognizes it, it Is not 'bad game design' if they capitalize and you pay for it. That's how the game SHOULD be.

Eleshakai1 votes

Take a second and re-read my comments. Nowhere did I accuse them of missing anything except that VERY FIRST skillshot at 3 seconds in the video. Which they did miss. So I'm not sure where you're getting the 'they missed everything' from. You might be mistaking me for someone else, that's possible. Not sure. But whatever the cause, you're wrong about what I said.

This wasn't about hitting or missing abilities. It was about leaving a window of vulnerability as a champion with no real escapes and then misplaying when the enemy capitalizes on that window of vulnerability. Simple as that.

Lux left an opening - she used her root when she was alone with no tower and no nearby help. The enemy, who was noticeably stronger than her due to the current state of their itemization(Lux had 1 completed item and 1 component that had bad stats for her current situation, Vlad had two completed items - both offering the ideal stat breakdown for this exact play), saw this opening and attempted to capitalize by diving her.

She ran away, and panicked - failing to use her e early to slow the Vlad down and then flashing in a non-ideal way(it is entirely possible that even flashing ideally would not have saved her, but it would have given her a better chance of survival) - leaving the opportunity for her opponents - the Vlad and Rakan both - to inflict significant damage while she had nothing she could do to stop it really except a shield. Which leads us to the next point, the Vlad and Rakan did a great job of target selecting - focusing their damage on the Sona while the Lux had her enormous shield(which was cast in such a way that it didn't benefit Sona), waiting for the shield to wear off, and bursting her as soon as it did.

There was no one-shot here, it was three distinct waves of damage. Wave 1: Initial engage. Wave 2: Rakan Engage. Wave 3: Vlad ult + second wave of spells after shield wore off.

And this is not an example of a bad meta. Whether the meta is bad or not, I am not going to judge... but this particular play is NOT an example of anything to do with the meta. It is an example of an opponent taking advantage of the player leaving themselves vulnerable.

Eleshakai1 votes

How slow does a squishy have to die to a burst mage and a high damage support for you to be happy?? 25 seconds? 30 seconds? Like seriously...

JRobin312 votes

It is interesting how different players see different things when they watch the same video.

One person sees Vlad 'outplaying' the Lux who 'wastes' Q and flashes 'early'.

Another person sees that one missed ability turns into a 'guaranteed' kill.

In my opinion Lux was outplayed.

Lux was not outplayed because she was too far forward or because of her early flash. She would've died if she had been fighting under turret and she would've died if she had flashed over the wall towards Sona (yes, Vlad and Rakan both would've followed, they had vision of all other enemies on the map).

Lux misplayed her Q, failed to use her E, and should've kept running away rather double back towards Rakan. The shields were almost completely useless because they expired while Vlad and Rakan focused and killed Sona during the Rakan CHARM. So those 'fat shields' were not there to protect Lux, they were there for show to make it look like they were protecting Lux. So there is an illusion that it took seven seconds to kill Lux, when it was actually much less than that because Vlad and Rakan weren't attacking Lux.

Vlad and Rakan kill both Lux and Sona while Vlad tanks everything (Sona, Lux, and turret). Rakan emerges close to unscathed (a single incidental Sona Q).

Given the outplays, it's difficult to say this clip is a commentary on the META. Vlad knew his limits better than Lux knew hers.

Eleshakai1 votes

Eh, based off of the clip, I can't see what the enemy team's vision was like. There's a chance that if Lux uses her E and flashes better, that she can get out of line of sight and get Sona's move speed buff, which is not insignificant, which then makes Vlad have to guess where she is, giving her a chance to make it to somewhere safe to recall, or possibly even to a blast cone where she can get a second wall crossing. Also, if she flashes towards Sona, Sona could've used her ult right as Vlad flashed over, meaning Vlad would've either had to pool outside of the fight, or Vlad would've been stunned so they could run further, most likely ending the chase.

But aside from that, I agree with what you're saying.

at 12 seconds Sona hit Vladimir with ulti as indicated by the "stun" above his head this is when Rakan used his ulti as well as u can also see Lux with "charmed" above her head after that u can clearly see Vladimir with the words ROOTED above his head this demonstrate lux hit her Q

at 14 seconds u can see Vladimir health bar lose a huge chunk due to Lux ultimate hitting him

u can also see that if lux didn't summoner 4 easily she would not have made it under tower in time

i admit i didn't see her E being used or going off in that clip and that proably would have killed vlad if it did go off

but saying she "missed her abilities" just means your blind" she CLEARLY hit them

aaaustindestroy11 votes

If you're gonna use Lux's pre-fight stats then use Vlad's pre-fight stats.

Before the fight, Lux was 2-3-3. Not a bad score, but certainly far from amazing. Before the fight, Vlad was 3-1-1. He does seem to be getting ahead a bit, but 3-1-1 shouldn't be enough to have a massive lead. Rakan was 0-2-10, indicating that the enemy bot lane got fed, or that they lost and Rakan roamed for a nice chunk of assists. Sona was 0-2-9, only 1 assist down from Rakan.

The enemy team had a very small advantage, however Sona and Lux both hit their CC. Sona hit her ultimate, which should be a death sentence for anybody diving underneath a tower, and yet they both lived. It could be champion-specific however a lot of other champions would've lived at that score.

Even though the enemy was ahead, the Sona ult and Lux Q should have pretty much sent Vladimir to his doom at least, and Rakan could have the ability to escape.

Eleshakai1 votes

The difference is Lux was sitting on one completed item and a seeker's which gives minimal offense and nothing to counter vlad/rakan in terms of defense. Vlad was on proto/Morello - two full offensive items who also have some defensive stats that are relevant to this combat.

Vlad may have only been a bit ahead in terms of raw gold, but he was massively ahead in terms of combat stats.

Eedat15 votes

You are literally standing in front of a Predator Vlad and Rakan completely alone with no tower as a Lux then you completely waste your bind that not even a new player with 300 ping would get hit by. Then get run down by a fed Vlad when you have ZERO MR or HP and killed over 14 seconds. Stop blaming the meta for playing like shit

Thefrostyviking13 votes

OP this clip isnt what you should use as a example.

Vlad used predator and he used flash along with his normal kit, switch predator for ghost and this could literally have happened in any season since season 3......excluding rakan being there.

What actually happened? You blew Q making vlad confident he could run up to you with predator and you didnt block his path with your E.

Then you tried to run away with flash but once again did not use E, so he slowly catches up with no obstacles in his path, and by the time he got into flash range while you had none left it was already 100% his right to kill you as he pleased at that point with absolutely nothing you could do about it due to no zhonya or banshee,,,,,,early as it was.

So OP what you are essentially complaining about is your own repeated and poor tactical decisions resulting in vlad being able to kill you when he makes one good choice after the other.

For as Lux you are nearly designed to die the moment someone gets near you, no spellshield like malz and no ult+heals like Swain......or vlad if you prefer.

Had you cast E right away after flashing or as you saw him come towards you in the first place then he´d either have to give that kill up or flash to get past it.

Now as a bonus i will include vlads trait, he is a short range mage specialized in causing damage and healing off a lot of that damage, he is tankier than usual due that healing, his passive giving extra health and his ult providing a really big heal per target, he also avoids some damage with his W.

And while i am not sure it seems your ult missed him too due to being too close....if that is the case then it truly is the final nail in the coffin.

You are right about Sona hitting ulti and such but you legit shouldn't ever be pushed up like that 1v2 vs someone with Pred. Making up an excuse saying sorry for leaving base is BS since Vlad was already pushing wave into you instead of freezing it. Also a play like this has always been in the game.. 0 healing reduction the Vlad and Rakan swapped turret aggro 3x and Vlad's items compared to your items. Idk if you are trying to say turret or whatever didn't help you because this would of happened in any season lol

Eleshakai2 votes

Okay let's clarify: You wasted your flash by using it without thinking strategically. You panicked. The enemy was able to flash immediately after and thus negate your flash. If you'd, instead, flashed over a wall or across a corner, you would've forced him to run to where you were before flashing, which would've bought you time to get out of LoS and make him have to guess where you were, possibly allowing you to escape.

As far as 'been there alone' it's not that leaving the base was a mistake, it's that you went a full screen from your turret alone as a low-mobility mage with no support nearby against a fed predator-based mage and a support with heavy engage. Additionally, you randomly threw your binding out for no reason, giving the enemy the go ahead to jump you. And you didn't even use your slow to gain a bit of distance once he started charging you.

As far as 'wasted' goes, Sona walked on top of you, thus allowing vlad and rakan to hit both of you with no problems, and getting both kills with ease... but Sona did hit her spells, the damage was just already done by your earlier tactical mistakes.

Whether the meta is bad or not, you made some huge tactical mistakes, and got punished for them. This is not a case of the 'meta' being the problem.

Yup this is what happens when runes give a bunch of special effects and actives to champions who specifically didn't have them in their kit in the first place for a reason...

Yup.

Thefrostyviking3 votes

To be fair, vlad flashed and rakan tagged along with his dash shortly after while lux&sona stood atop eachother.

Are we going to complain about flash now too? x)

Beacon Academy1 votes

Are we going to ignore that predator is the only reason why he was able to do that?

Y'know something that wasn't in Vlad's kit in the first place?

Eleshakai2 votes

If he had flash/ghost he could've done it too.

Beacon Academy1 votes

Ghost accelerates up to 45% bonus movement speed at level 18 (28% at level 1, 40% at lv 13)

Predator starts at 67.5% and decreases to 45% at any level

And he wouldn't have ignite to help him get kills as he is roaming from a lane that has a range disadvantage against him.

Disclaimer: Don't get me wrong, I personally believe Lux should have flashed over to raptors, E'd the spot incase he flashed after to slow him, and ran.

Eleshakai1 votes

I'm aware that ghost isn't QUITE as fast, but it would've still been sufficient to catch her in this case with how poorly she played.

And given how fed Vlad was... it still would've ended the same way.

Beacon Academy1 votes

The time for the acceleration would have allowed Lux to actually be past the inner turret, making Vlad's flash after her still out of range due to Lux not needing to pause to cast her shield and him not having a slow item.

Vlad's first kill was Garen at 9 minutes and then Sona at 16 & 18 minutes before this event occurred.

I guess 3 kills = fed

Eleshakai1 votes

he was literally a full item ahead. That's a huge difference in the early-mid game.
