As a Long Time Rek Sai player, I can say Sonar changes hurt her

The revised sonar effects are a lot more visible, yes. But at the cost of not being able to tell where the target moves! Before the sonar would work by emiting two circles one right after the other, so you could tell in which direction people are moving. Now it is just one big circle every .75 seconds or so, which makes her literally blind
