Jarvan Base Armor Nerf does not Address the Problem
His being balanced around electrocute/full AD is the biggest problem here. I don't particularly care for build diversity, I feel that there's too many champions and too many variables such as runes that make build diversity a problem. He needs to be balanced around being a tanky fighter rather than being an assassin from 0-15 minutes and then a below average tank from 15 minutes to the end of the game. The catering to the warrior/electrocute build only makes him overlap with Vi. Riot should be addressing the fact that these two champions are way too similar in role and trying to separate them a little bit. J4 should be a bit tankier because of the high utility, and Vi should do more damage. They should be balanced accordingly. Full AD Jarvan straight up needs to go.
Keep his attack speed and his tankiness, he should be able to apply and use black cleaver and/or titanic hydra correctly, but he shouldn't be using duskblade of draktharr. A couple ideas i have of nerfs that would help achieve this goal:
- Make Cataclysm immediately go down if Jarvan dies. This punishes the people that go full AD and then just jump in and die later. Force/reward jarvan for being tanky.
- Nerf his AD ratios. This is a primary offender. Q scales too well with AD but has pretty crappy base damages at higher levels.
