Ok, Let Me Tell You How Gangplank is Going to be Built Now

The latest changes, mainly GP's E, will make a tankier build more viable (and it was before, of course)

Core

  • item 3111 /item 3047 pick one based on your enemies.

  • item 3087 his Q still crits. you get your mana back, and you can farm bonus gold with Q. AS, Crit, mixed damage, aoe for team fights. always get this.

  • item 3068 my favorite tankplank item. You have to melee to be GP. So you need HP early on. This item also helps with wave clear. Which GP lacks. (another reason why static is so good)

  • item 3065 cdr, hp, and stronger oranges. The only time you don't want this is vs an all AD team.

  • item 3078 /item 3025 Pick one. Vs as mostly AP team go tri force every time. If they are balanced or have a lot of ad get ibg. you can get tri first if you want. you will just be a little squishier early on until you get sunfire. I prefer to get an IBG after the previous items listed. By the time you are team fighting, the slow comes in handy against fleeing carries.

  • item 3071 The latest changes to this item really synergize well with GP. Gp loves ad, ms, hp, and cdr. Wrap it up into one item that rewards you to stick to your opponent? yes. if i am snowballing i will often build this after static.

Well, thats how i build him. I also like to sell boots late game and buy an item 3031. It is easier to reach this point before other champions because you are a pirate with a gold generating mechanic that gives you mana back as well as a global wave clear tool with his ult.

I am sure people will disagree and prefer other builds. and that is fine. GP is a champion that can be built many ways, and i don't think the rework is changing that.

Personally I've always been a fan of IBG on Gangplank. Yeah, you can go Trinity Force for like 90 extra damage on Q's, or you can go IBG and kite/chase forever with that giant AOE slow and CDR.
