Help with Katarina

Im currently Mastery 6 with her, and I have my fair share of good games. But I feel I just do the same combo over and over again and get kills. It's usually Q E W (R if available) and it works most of the time, but its getting repetitive. Not boring per se, I just want to be smoother with Kat and truly master her. Do you guys have any combos youre willing to share?

Also, my build is

Start with long sword (Yes, this is weird. But its the quickest way to get to Gunblade imo
Gunblade is my first item, always
If im fed or even, then Morellonomicon. If behind, then Zhonyas Hourglass.
After that, its deathcap, and I dont know what to do after that. With Gunblade, hourglass, morello, and deathcap, that gives me 2 more slots. I think spellbinder would be good on her, but I really dont know. I need some help with this too

KatEvolved is a good channel to watch, a challenger lvl Katarina OTP. Its a little tricky and situational but occasionally I'll do E,W, auto, Q, E (E,W,Auto,E,Q,E after CD on shumpo is lowered).

I can't really say much about gameplay since I'm bad with her (although I'd really like to be able to play her better), but I've seen lots of high elo Kat mains who build item 3135 and put it after item 3146 . I've also seen people add in item 3151 or item 3102 depending on the enemy team before building into item 3165 or item 3157 . As more of an ADC main, I do see what you're talking about with her combos being more smooth. Maybe Riot can do with Kat what they did with Lucian for his smooth combos?

Your build is the only build that works tbh, with the variations in mind as well. Katarina as a champion isn't very smooth to begin with due to cast times and Dagger drop speeds. Some of the things you can do to alleviate that is shunpo to the Dagger before it even falls to the ground with the QEW combo. Another combo you can try is EQW. You also have to be quick and deliberate with your combo, so that it works against even most opponents. If the person knows exactly how Katarina works then you're utterly fucked.

You can E onto an enemy champion, W and ulti so you can strike them with a sudden burst of damage when the dagger from W falls while you're channeling R, E resets, Q and chase them with the next dagger that falls from Q with your E. usually scores a kill and you can E away again to safety or snowball.

Hi man, kat main here :)

if you want a combo that is pretty neat on her, you E to an ennemy minion to get in range, instantly W + Q + item 3146 then R, summoner 14 if available then wait for w to go down. you're likely going to hit your dagger since slows.

when it comes to stuff, I still haven't found THE best starter imho, item 1036 or item 1082 are both just as good. Dark seal gives more lane sustain against hard lanes, but Long sword helps shoving early.

dont be greedy getting item 2031 instead of 3x item 2003 , kat's early game is weak against anyone that knows something about this game

Rushing item 3146 is great, try to get an early item 3020 boots as it is a huge damage powerspike + makes ur roaming potential so much better

don't finish your item 3165 , item 3916 is sufficient most of the time

if you're way ahead, go for item 3089 if you're even, go for item 3135 (the amount of magic pen you get is tremendously strong mid game). if you're behind, go for item 3165 or item 3157 .

Btw, kat might be the only champion i'll never find "annoying" or repetitive to play. She gives this feeling of being able to win most games if you play well your mid game.

Hey I’m a Kat main! (Feel free to friend me on league if u want ~~it’s not because I’m lonely~~) Longsword start is fine.

Try out this combo, E W Q R E It’s a great kill combo I picked up from KatLife (go watch him he is very informative)

Pretty much u E to the enemy, and instantly W. Then you cast Q and then R, so the enemy is trapped between two daggers. If you don’t kill with ult, E to the last dagger to finish off.
