"...you may be offline" when I'm clearly not (login screen)

So I tried to login to League just now and right after I opened the client and saw the Darius login screen and stuff, it wouldn't let me click on the password box so i could type it in, saying "We're unable to log you in because you may be offline" above the username box.

Well, IF I were offline, I wouldnt be able to create this thread on the boards page or watch Bjergsen's recent YouTube upload, so I dont believe this is a problem on my end. I have restarted the client several times and also restarted my computer, but still nothing.

This is the first time this has happened to me and if anyone has any knowledge about this issue please let me know, and please try to fix this asap @rito

That feeling when the server page laughs in your face saying it's up and running when it clearly isn't. QQ

This has just happened to not just me but my whole group of friends that was playing with me. We're currently in a chat talking about it. One friend was able to circumvent it briefly by switching the login server from NA to OCE and then switching back. Now that fix isn't working either because the game is trying to force an update preventing anyone from switching back. So, how's it going with everyone else? Have a good day?

Edit: Additionally, the Riot server status page says that everything is working fine other than the earlier problems, but clearly that is not accurate.

Edit 2: I actually just had a change over here, it allowed me to switch back to NA and log back in but now it's trying (and failing) to patch the NA client.

I just got the same problem. I decided to closed the client and then right clicked the desktop shortcut and clicked Run as Administrator and it worked. Hopefully it works for you!!

Just happend to me and I got a 503 error for boards, discord and anything related to league and or gaming. But other sites were working just fine and it wasn't my internet.

Yea have had this happen to me, I found a fix:

Go to C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\Config
Open "LeagueClientSettings.yaml" with notepad
Find the line:
gameflow-patcher-lock:
Delete this whole line
Save the file, restart your LoL Client - and you should be able to log in again.

Also having the same problems... Ive managed to log in after multiple times closing and reopening it, however, The play button is gray and will not allow me to enter a game.

Also getting this too when the status page is saying the server is online, and I'm clearly connected to the internet.
