Soooo what are you supposed to do against Gangplank exactly?

Like what champs do well against him when he never has to actually interact with anyone other than pressing ult botlane for kills/assists.? He's tryndamere without the insane mobility when he just blows up wave after wave with two barrels. And split pushes when no one is there. Once he gets items from farming all game you constantly have to play around the barrels else you lose any engage against him. The barrels fucking existing are enough to zone you away from engaging on him and then he'll still just use them to clear waves anyways.

People say he isn't that good anymore, but every single time he's in my games he does well. If he doesn't do well he just farms up and splitpushes and scales into a hyper carry that can't be answered alone anymore.

Anyone with higher AS than him will be able to get his barrels before he does, neutralizing that risk. As for counters, lane bully's can shut him down early, and if he uses his ult to get kills/assists, it resets his gold bounty, which is good for you, if you are indeed a lane bully. Champs with good wave-clear are also effective, and sustain champs work well. Jungler ganks are also a really good way to deal with him. However, if your jungler is ganking for you, remember to space out the CC, so he can't Oranges it all.

Are people really complaining about gangplank now? Man, the depths to which baddies will sink.

Gangplank has always had a high skill ceiling and skill floor since his rework. It's taken longer for mains to become proficient on him due to how he interacts with his barrels, but they're there now. You know what you do? You get good and time when his barrel will tick down to 1, and then you go in and hit it. Before level 13, his barrels are underpowered. If you can't take advantage of an underpowered GP and affect the game positively in your favour before he hits level 13, then I don't know what to tell you.

Honestly, I usually just go Xin into him. Irelia would probably work too. Both can just outsustain his poke, and he fears their all in. Yes, I know he can Eat an Orange, but if Irelia does minion mechanics right she should still have her Q ready, and Xin has his knockup.

Pretty much any decent fighter and beat him. Hell, just have your jgler camp your lane if you struggle that much against GP.

And if you really suck that much play Rumble. GP can't do anything to him.

Edit: So i see you made this exact post a few days ago. You should just look into maining Tryndamere or Rumble. Problem solved.

I like to pick Nautilus vs him. He has so much cc oranges are useless, w negates his q poke and barrels, and you build tanky and waveclear easily. Build item 3068 item 3025 and you will do good damage throughout the game. Most Gangplank get cdr glyphs so you easily have kill pressure on him early, and even if he took mr blues it won't matter much. Start item 1056 and get a item 3751 after first back if not enough get item 1028 . Gp doesn't have flash? A hook or an ult leading to a hook with your jungler around = dead gp everytime.
