List Of Champions Who Do And Don't Like The Fervor Changes

ArnoldSchwarzens··46 votes·5,225 views

What Will Change? -Fervor will now give AD instead of physical damage on-hit -Now Needs to Stack 10 instead of 8 times to reach max stacks -Stacks will now fall of faster than before -If we're talking only auto attacks, the damage Fervor does will be halfed late game -If you have high ability AD ratios and/or you are a critical strike chance based champion and/or you build life steal, you like the changes -If you are an attack speed/on-hit based champion with bad AD ratios, you don't like the changes

LIST OF CHAMPIONS WHO DON'T LIKE THE NEW FERVOR:

Ekko : -no AD ratios -worse synergy with W passive

Ezreal : -Q procs on-hit and Ezreal has high natural attack speed, can't make as much use of that anymore -doesn't build crit -since more AD means better synergy with life steal, he may pick up BT instead of BotRK now

Fizz : -only one mediocre AD ratio on Q -on-hit / tank Fizz is dead for good now -new W isn't a permanent on-hit anymore, now that he's getting reworked

Jax : -only has situational AD ratio on his ult and mediocre ratios on Q and E -high attack speed + W reset means good on-hit synergy, can't make as much use of that anymore

Kayle : -only mediocre AD ratio on Q -focuses on AP and on-hit rather than crit build

Kennen : -for those of you guys who still play AD Kennen -no AD ratios except for mediocre ratio on W -liked the consistent on-hit since he keeps permastunning people

Kindred : -only mediocre AD ratio on Q, E and W -because of their Q attack reset and passive, they build on-hit instead of the classic crit build

KogMaw : -THE archetype on-hit carry -doesn't build crit until later into the game -bad synergy with life steal and crit -only one mediocre AD ratio on his ult -winrate will be even worse than it is right now

Rengar : -new rengar still has bonkers AD ratio's -since his Q isn't an auto attack reset anymore and he doesn't get bonus attack speed, he doesn't want Fervor -now takes Thunderlord's and Stormraider's over Fervor and Warlord's

Shyvana : -only mediocre AD ratio on W and Q -focused more on on-hit base damage of her W and E and the attack reset double on-hit proc of her Q

Teemo : -no AD ratios -on-hit Teemo might be dead, AP Teemo lives on

Warwick : -only mediocre AD ratio on his ult -focuses more on passive on-hit combined with W attack speed and ult on-hit proc -will be reworked pretty soon anyway so it probably doesn't matter

LIST OF CHAMPIONS WHO ARE MOSTLY INDIFFERENT:

Irelia : -has pretty good on-hit synergy with Q and W -also has good AD ratios on Q and ult

Lucian : -has good on-hit synergy because of his passive double-proc -also has good AD ratios on his Q and E and a mediocre ratio on his W

MasterYi : -has good on-hit synergy with ult attack speed and passive double-proc -also has good AD ratios on Q and E -buff to crit yi

XinZhao : -has good on-hit synergy with W attack speed and Q auto attack reset -also has decent AD ratios on Q, ult and W heal, W crit will now be better -AD-focused Xin might outclass on-hit Xin now

Yasuo : -has good synergy with on-hit because his Q procs it -also has good ratios on Q and ult and gets the double crit passive

Hope you liked it. If there's a champion missing it's either because they already have a better keystone to pick or they are so unimportant that I didn't list them. Maybe I forgot someone, if so, please tell me.

I wasted way too much time on this.

Why isn't their more posts like this on the boards. 10/10 post based on time and effort. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Draven's Q does not crit unless they're changing that in s7.

Yes it does: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Draven Look at the ability details of his Q. If you don't believe the wiki either, go test it in-game.

Bro, the attack itself crits but the bonus damage does not "Critical strikes will not interact with Spinning Axe's bonus damage." - taken from the very wiki you linked

ArnoldSchwarzens7 votes

Woops. My bad. Gonna correct it then.

XeroKimo5 votes

The only ability who's bonus dmg that can crit is vayne's Q..... which is why her crit build is super dominant after the AD buff on her Q

Tattersall4 votes

I think the biggest nerf is that the stacks fall off faster.

But also, I think that Jax gaining 30 more armor when his ult is active (which is all the time) and he's at full stacks is a bigger deal than you're saying it is. Still don't know if it's overall a nerf or not.

ArnoldSchwarzens4 votes

Completely forgot about the fall-off thing. Adding it to the post.

As for Jax, I'm pretty unsure aswell. I also had the same discussion under a different post and most people said it really isn't as big as a deal.

DorkunedAuras3 votes

Jax, I will maintain that he used the On-hit better, and the armor bonus isn't enough to compensate. He's nerfed by this.

Pale Pirate3 votes

Illaoi -high AD ratio on passive, Q, W and ult -W is an autohit reset with low CD when ulting => fast Fervor stacking -Stormraider's might still be better

I lost a lot of trust in this thread as soon as I saw this. Illaois should go down the resolve tree.

However don't ignore what is here; the OP put a lot of effort and gives nice tips here and maybe he just doesn't play Illaoi too much to know her ideal masteries.

ArnoldSchwarzens4 votes

Well all the Korean's play her with Stormraider's and Death's Dance. Seems to work for them from what I can gather.

Pale Pirate1 votes

They play her with stormraiders... Wow, I should check that out. What site are you using to gather these statistics? Thank you.

ArnoldSchwarzens1 votes

http://koreanbuilds.net/ I love that site, usually shows much better builds than champion.gg does.

Well you mentioned fervor on Darius which makes me question how well you're understanding champion kits and the marginal benefits keystones offer

Want to elaborate on why you'd take fervor on Darius given his passive that overshadows it?

ArnoldSchwarzens4 votes

He is a Juggernaut which means he stays long enough in a fight to stack it, his W is an auto attack reset and his E and W also give him extra stickiness to stack Fervor up.

Since all his abilities except for his E scale with AD the stacks also do a lot damage-wise.

I also don't think that his Passive overshadowing Fervor is a proper argument. Of course it does once you get the 5 stacks. It also overshadows every other single keystone, so what's your point.

I just feel like it's a much better option on him now. And if we're talking pure DPS I also think it'll outclass Grasp, which is why I included him.

And, as always, everything is just theory. Neither you or I tested it but once it hits live I definitely think it's worth a try.

I'm not looking at grasp of the undying as an offensive keystone

You'll trigger Darius's passive sooner than max fervor stacks to boot

Better to explore durability or anti kiting keystones.

ArnoldSchwarzens3 votes

So what would those durability and anti kiting keystones be?

Stormraider's? Seems a bit weird to me but could potentially work.

SotA will be gone and always was hard to stack in lane. Courage of the Colossus also doesn't work on him, he doesn't have any hard CC to proc it except for maybe his E.

The only other Keystone that gives either durability or anti kite is Bond of Stone and that's a support mastery.

Keìron1 votes

Man new fervor on darius is awesome.

  • huge AD ratios
  • passive stacks fervor
  • AA reset on W I have mastery 7 on him, maybe you can trust me.

Before, the maximum damage per auto was 112 (8 x 14), whereas the mastery now gives 60 AD. Unless you have a combined Crit Modifier of 87% (Crit Chance x Crit Damage Bonus (1 or 1.5 with IE)) or use abilities with a combined AD ratio of 0.87 for every auto-attack you'd normally do, the damage is lower than in S6.

Irelia : For Irelia, the move to AD instead of on-hit is most definitely a nerf. As Q is essentially an auto-attack replacement that applies on-hit effects, its AD ratio cannot be counted into the equation above: Current Q damage without extra AD: 140 + 1.2 x 118 + 112 = 393.6 Preseason 7: 140 + 1.2 x 178 = 353.6 That's 40 damage lost per Q, 52 damage lost per auto-attack.

Most Marksman: I think that a lot of the Marksman that build 3 Crit items will actually want to go for Warlord's over Fervor, especially with the upcoming popularity of assassins and tanks. The reason is that going Warlord's allows them to forego early Lifesteal that would take money away from their three crit items, and in the cases of games with assassins and tanks allows them to go for a LDR and a defensive item like GA.

ArnoldSchwarzens2 votes

Well Irelia isn't only her auto attacks combined with her Q and W.

You also have to factor in her ult which has a 70% bonus AD ratio and 4 charges. 70% times 60 times 4 means 168 extra burst damage in the late game. And you also heal for 25% of that damage.

DPS goes down, burst goes up. It's not a change for the better or worse in my opinion since she gains something for the on-hit damage she loses.

Shadow Hazard2 votes

Most of the time the ult would have lost 2 blades by the time you you have it half stacked. On a champ that is really primarily an AA based champ that doesn't build crit this is a nerf. This wont increase burst since you have to stack fervor up first to you need dps to even get to that "burst", all it is really doing is slightly improving her only source of AoE. Her single target damage is taking a significant hit.

Shadow Hazard2 votes

Yasuo is a straight buff. not only will his AA be doing roughly the same amount of damage mid game when he hits his 100% crit chance, hits abilities will also be doing more damage thanks to increased AD. basically a buff for the exact same reasoning as trynd

MasterYi has has better success as on hit than crit since crit takes so long to hit it's damage spike with yi, this is a general nerf towards yi.

Twitch This is actually a nerf to twitch since the ult damage gets reduces on pass through, but on hits deal full damage, so the backline damage that he will be doing is noticeably reduced.

Skarner Courage of colossus will be vastly superior as the choice for skarner with his high uptime stun+ult

there are others who are simply better with the new tank mastery or are known for being thunderlord champs. you seem to be ignoring that fervor is a dps mastery and many champs already preferred other masteries and still will.

AirKingNeo2 votes

Jax Kayle Xth nerf for no reason club

Lady Hammerlock2 votes

As for Jayce you can actually get 6 stacks really fast, in ranged form you use W(I think thats the attack speed boost) then switch to melee form and slap em to death

Bladerunner77772 votes

Hecarim: -high AD ratio on Q and E -now that SotA is gone, probably best alternative

nope

S T O R M R A I D E R ' S B O Y S

Irelia: -has pretty good on-hit synergy with Q and W -also has good AD ratios on Q and ult

I don't know, I think Irelia is going to be a lot worse with it because quite a bit of her damage comes from her W true damage and sheen procs. I don't think having AD for your Q or Ult are enough to justify getting it. I am personally going to try Warlord's on her instead

Qiy4na1 votes

Evelynn yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Zelorxon1 votes

AHA, joke's on you. Varus doesn't go crits. Stop building crits on varus. item 3006 item 3004 item 3142 item 3071 item 3147 item 3036 And go 10%cdr from runes, whatever will be your favourite formula in order to cap the cdr item 3156 item 3139 situational.

Critmaster Garen1 votes

i wish theyd reduce the ad bonus to 35 or 40 and make it work on multi hit abilities without a cooldown on the stacks.

the current fervor is already op. but the new one will be even stronger on carries who stack crit. reducing the ad bonus but making it easier to stack would at least give it some use for ad casters, while actually nerfing the keystone overall.

Champion Skin1 votes

Any champion who builds item 3085 (and item 3124 ) really don't like the fervor changes

DoktorKaiser1 votes

What do I take on Blue Ezreal now?? :( Looks like we are back to thunderlords...

ArnoldSchwarzens1 votes

I think that you don't have the choice between Tri-Force an Gauntlet anymore, because of the lack of base damage through Fervor you always have to take Tri-Force.

Another thing that'll happen is that now that you have more AD at your disposal and less on-hit, BT might be a better choice than BotRK.

I personally hate playing ADC but I'd love it if you or anyone else reading this could test it out.

Oh and I think Fervor is probably still better than Thunderlord's.

Bârd1 votes

I have to disagree on Twitch liking the new fervor. It's definately worse for him than the old one was.

With it, his Hurricane-Empowered ult becomes much less powerful; on hit damage applies in full to every target of every shot, but the damage gained from bonus AD is reduced on the hurricane bolts and is further reduced every time it passes through a unit.

Predatorator1 votes

Not sure about Skarner: He needs the tenacity from the resolve tree, and courage of the colossus will improve his engagements so much, while giving him the innate durability he needs.

ferocity skarner looks so squishy on the other hand, and especially at lower elo, might suffer the feast or famine problem; also it doesn't happen that often to fight on the spires.

TP on Skarner? jungle or top? tell me more, i'm intrigued =)

However i'll give it a try, got me curious =).

And no, don't call Your work a waste of time =)
